Fun Days Out in Cornwall
A trip to the zoo is the highlight of many holidays and Newquay Zoo is a very impressive one. There are hundreds of animals to meet ranging from the cute and cuddly to the creepy and slimy. Children will love the animal encounters, penguin pool and Tarzan trail and there is also a play area. The site also has oriental and exotic lakeside gardens with picnic areas and a café and gift shop.
This attraction is ideal for families with children of different ages. Older kids will love the climbing wall, Go Karts and laser shooting while the younger ones can run of some energy on the play area or enjoy a ride on the bumper boats. The site is also home to Cornwall's largest Pitch and Put and a huge maze.
This haven for monkeys is located in beautiful woodland affording views over the gorgeous Cornish coast. There are 4 breeds of monkey cared for at the sanctuary, which has been open since 1964. The whole family will enjoy meeting the cheeky monkeys and the educational talks offer visitors the chance to learn about their natural habitat and the dangers they face in the wild. There is also a gift shop, café and picnic area.
Paradise Park first opened back in 1973 as a tropical bird garden and has since expanded to offer refuge to many different species of animal. The park aims to provide a fun and educational experience to its visitors and has daily talks and events to offer a more hands on approach. Playful otters, rare Cornish Chough, shy Red Pandas, and the beautiful native Red Squirrels can all be seen. There is also a fun farm area where younger children can get creative with crafting sessions during school holidays. The recent addition of the indoor Jungle Barn makes Paradise Park an excellent all weather attraction.
This amazing family day out has it all. From thrilling rides for kids and adults alike, as well as award winning gardens to stroll around this is one experience not to be missed. Some of the highlights include the Wildlife Experience Animal Show and the undercover re-creation of a World War II blitzed street. We have selected this attraction as one of our favourites in the Cornwall region as it appeals to children of all ages. You can really get a hands on experience at this farm with the opportunity to stroke, feed, cuddle and learn about the animals. Located in Newquay in Cornwall this Farm is easily accessible and well worth a visit.
The Eden Project is a must visit attraction while in Cornwall offering a unique and educational as well as fun experience. While exploring this greenhouse - the largest in the world, visitors will take in some amazing sights and sounds as well as smells of the jungle. The green house has areas dedicated to Malaysia, West Africa and South America. There is also a magical Warm Temperate Biome housing plants from the Mediterranean, South Africa and California. As well as the exotic and the strange visitors also get the chance to learn about the plants and trees we see every day in the UK. Throughout the year activities are also available onsite and this year they have included an exhilarating 450m zip wire ride! For younger children there is an adventure play area with wooden ship and sand pit to enjoy.
Trethrone Leisure Park in Cornwall is a popular choice for a family day out and offers an excellent programme of activities for children all year round. The park has a farm area where younger kids will love feeding the lambs and other friendly animals. Pony rides, a large play area, ball pool; trampolines and crazy golf are also available.
