Fun at Solway Holiday Village
Located in a beautiful area in the countryside, Solway Holiday Village offers an ideal break away for those looking for relaxation and scenery, be it a couple looking for a romantic break or a family looking for some activity with opportunity to explore scenic surroundings.
The holiday village is located in one of the most picturesque areas of England, just a stone’s throw from the coast and plenty of glorious countryside. It’s well situated for exploring attractions including Hadrian’s Wall and Gretna Green.
For keen walkers, the Northern Lakes are close by for some stunning walks along the water or boating.
The nearby seaside resort of Silloth offers some wonderful heritage thanks to its history back to the Victorian era, and it’s also surrounded by beautiful countryside for a great day trip.
Things to do
There are plenty of charming nearby towns and villages with lovely independent shops, pubs, and restaurants that are great pit stops for a long day of exploring the countryside.
Families will enjoy the activities on offer at the holiday park, but for venturing further afield, there are many beautiful trails for walking or cycling. For history buffs, Carlisle Castle is a fascinating building offering an insight into the heritage of the surrounding area of northern England.
There’s a wide selection of caravans and chalets on offer to choose from, each offering varying levels of luxury and sleeping arrangements, depending on the size of guest parties. A typical timber chalet features one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms to sleep 6 and a pet, with a spacious living area.
Many chalets offer an indulgent outdoor hot tub for a relaxing dip with a glass of bubbly after a long day exploring the Northern Lakes. Each chalet also features a bath with overhead shower, a TV with DVD player, WiFi, a kitchen with a microwave, and bed linen and duvet to guarantee a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The holiday park features Sky and BT Sports to make sure guests don’t miss that vital match or TV show, and there’s a Children’s Club for 4-14 year olds to ensure the kids are kept entertained throughout the day or evening.
There’s a lounge bar and bistro for a lovely meal after a day of exploring, as well as a takeaway for grabbing a tasty bite whilst on the go. WiFi access is available in the bar area, and there’s also a shop for any essential purchases, and a launderette for the convenience of guests.
Families will love the indoor heated fun pool (with a spa for grown-ups), and there’s an excellent children’s indoor play area which offers amusements, an activity centre, pool table, tennis courts, and much more.
Outdoors, there’s another play area, a football pitch, a pitch and putt course, and even a land train! Don’t miss the licensed clubs with a disco and karaoke for a little entertainment in the evening.
