Surprisingly spacious for a pod! The outdoor space is great with picnic tables, BBQ and bike racks. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into their planning.

Date of stay: 9th July 2018
Gorgeous lodge with hot tub decking and garden. Very spacious and well equipped. If it had blackout blinds in bedroom and a proper shower in family bathroom I would have scored it a 10.
If you just want to sit and relax or go walking its perfect, especially if you have a dog. Not sure if you had young teens that get bored easily and need fast wifi its maybe not for you.

Date of stay: 25th February 2018
This is a great site and would have been a 10 for facilities and overall rating. The only negative is the air vent in the pod, that flaps in the wind all night. Which is really disruptive to sleep. Other than that great location, great site, great staff and Pods are lovley we where very pleased and will be back
The walking was great, we adventured over the old industrial site along the lane and ended up at the top of the park hill looking down the valley fantastic views,
The local King William pub was great food, 20 minutes walk along the old lane into the village

Date of stay: 27th October 2017
Excellent lodge, everything very clean and didn't smell of dog even though it was a doggy friendly one. Had gate fitted to the openings of the decking which was perfect for letting our dog lie outside while we were in the hot tub. Went in October half term and the lodge was toasty warm all the time (we switched the heating off a few times because it got too hot), perfect for when you are coming back from a cold day of hiking. Hot tub fab.

We had a lovely few days, views amazing and lovely walks. Hot tub is just fantastic. Children had a great time too.
Sharon
Absolutely lovely holiday park, we stayed in a pod for 2 nights for my 50th birthday facing the lake. Took our little shihtzu with us, he loved it. Would definitely return, next time in a lodge they look beautiful. Our pod was so warm, there was still snow around. Has a fridge, small hob and microwave, which is sufficient. Also they have a kettle. On arrival we had a box of chocolates and dog biscuits, which is really a nice touch.
Michelle
We had an amazing, relaxing short break. The accomodation was excellent, clean, spacious, well-equipped and maintained.
Catherine
We had such a lovely time. The place is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. We stayed in a pod and we didn't want to leave. We will defiantly be coming back.
Robert
Brilliant place with fantastic facilities and great location. Would highly recommend.
Grace
We went as group during easter school break and booked 5 of their glamping pods, can't find fault with the accomodation, very clean and high standard . Reception, very professional and helpful. Just wish that they have small play area for kids.
Steven
A small but quaint site in a beautiful setting with lots of good walks to explore. Staff on site are extremely helpful and friendly. Will definitely be coming back at some point. We had a lodge with a hot tub. Lodges are like new with full kitchen facilities. Site managers had provided packs of local information to read through and even some board games. Great for families.
Holly
Very nice cabin it was very modern, spacious and up to date -we all completely the hot tub! Lovely location down in the valley, though the reservoir near did get quite busy as expected on a weekend. Cabins were perhaps a little too close together or lacking screening between them to keep the accomodation more private than we were expecting. Also our heated water wasnt working the first night-time very they were quick to come over and fix it first thing in the morning and worked perfectly afterwards. All in all a lovely cabin we would be more than happy to go back!

Fun Days Out near Dovestone Holiday Park

about 24 Miles
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
about 27 Miles
This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.

Located in the Castleford area of West Yorkshire this is a fun family day out with loads of activities under one roof.   For the energetic there is a real snow slop for skiing and rock climbing walls.  For the more laid back then there is a cinema and bowling alley.  This place caters for all ages and there are seasonal events on throughout the year too. This attraction is described on their website as the "Ultimate Entertainment Destination " so why not check out their site for the latest admission costs and opening times?
about 33 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
about 33 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
about 33 Miles
Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Group booking discounts are available.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
about 35 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
about 37 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
