One bed reportedly a little lumpy but mine was perfect and great nights rest. Some of the dishes a little sticky not an issue really as brilliant access to dishwasher and tablets may just benefit from a quick check over previous guests possibly handwashing and putting back.

Had a wonderful weekend with our family in Heronsview this Feb, this is our second time and we have rebooked again for next February. The lodge is a wonderful authentic Norwegian lodge, lovely and cosy in the winter. The new hot tub is the feature it sits 6 people easily so there is plenty of room and the music and lights make it extra special. We loved the fairy lights that come on after dark , the ambience is wonderful. The lodge is dog friendly but we didn’t bring ours this year , the garden is long and secure for small, medium dogs , there is a lovely meadow in front of the lodge that our 2 will enjoy next year. Matt and Mark the owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, they are always there at the end of the phone if needed. All in all we had an amazing family weekend and can’t wait for our next visit

Lovely lodge with hot tub within beautiful surroundings. The lodge itself was well equipped and only a short walk to Rudyard Lake. This is our 3rd time staying and we have enjoyed our holidays here. While staying here we have visited Alton Towers and also Drayton Manor (ThomasLand).

we d stayed at heronsview before so knew the site which is lovely. there are no photos of watersview so we took a chance as some reviews said it needed updating. We were pleasantly surprised though and relieved that it was ok.we enjoyed staying there.
The lodges are similar inside with lots of wood and modern bathrooms and kitchen however there is no wifi, the fire inside was broken and waiting for repair and the extractor above the cooker didn't work. The decking could do with staining.

Some tips would include, take a hair dryer and extra towels for the hot tub.

Couldn't have been more perfect. Lovely thoughtful touches from the hosts. Spotlessly clean, beautiful views, a kitchen with everything you'd need and books/games/dad's for entertainment. Our family (including a 4 and a 2 yr old) loved it.

Lovely lodge and stunning surroundings, however for the 5 days we were there there was building work being done on the other lodges. There was a lot of people and vans around doing work which was off putting and we were not forewarned about this! Also the Hottub did not maintain its temperature very well therefore would get cold after a while, the staff were very friendly and said we could contact them if this happened however by the time we got into the hottub at night it would be too late for this. The lodge itself was cosy and comfortable, it was just a shame about all the noise! When initially phoning the contact number provided from Hoseasons with a few queries the man I spoke to was very rude and essentially said "well what do you want me to do about it" and said that he didn't know why he's number was listed as he didn't really do much with it. The lady who greeted us when we got there was very friendly and approachable, and she text us the last of the directions to prevent us getting lost which was helpful. They also allowed us to check into the lodge a few hours earlier.

A nice relaxing stay apart from the cockeral waking me up at 5am but I shut the window and it helped to block him out! Rudyard lake definitely has the scenery but Henelle Hall is the best accommodation in our experience

A beautiful lodge. Covered over hot tub and seating area so can still be used if it rains. The owners go above and beyond to make sure the lodge has everything you need for a lovely break.
Vicki
We've just returned from a wonderful 3-night stay at Rudyard Lake Lodges (we stayed at Heronsview). The location is gorgeous, and there is so much to do if you want an action-packed break, but you can also have a brilliantly relaxing time too. In a quiet and serene setting, it's a very short walk to Rudyard Lake and all the amenities there and a 5-minute drive from Leek. We were surprised, but delighted, when we received a text 4 hours before our official check-in time to let us know that the lodge was ready and we were welcome to arrive whenever was best for us. The owner was fantastic - really friendly and helpful, with great tips on places to visit too. The goats in the field opposite were the icing on the cake!
Kirsty
We loved our stay.
