Angecroft Park

Selkirkshire » Ettrick Valley, Nr Hawick

Angecroft Park has an ideal location for nature lovers with mile of unspoilt countryside to enjoy. The views of the hills and vales of Selkirkshire are stunning and the area is great for walking and cycling as well as other outdoor activities such as fishing.

This is a small and friendly site which has a tranquil and relaxing feel. There is a shop and a launderette on site.

Accommodation here is in modern caravans which have two or three bedrooms and well equipped kitchens.

The Yarrow is a budget friendly two bedroom caravan while the Ettrick is 12ft wide making it more spacious and a better option for families. Tima log cabins are also available and are even more spacious.  This makes them perfect for larger groups having two twin and one double bedroom and central heating, as well as a verandah

We had a family holiday, three generations and there was plenty of things for all of us to do and enjoy.
It was a `getting away from it all` type of holiday. We all felt that

We were a family of 3 generations and we all enjoyed the holiday. We all said that we felt better for it and are keen to go back. There were things still to see and do.

I really enjoyed the peacefulness of this park, no internet suited me fine. A bonus to be able to take my dog at no extra cost also.
I intend on returning ASAP.

A lovely relaxing break, just what was needed away from busy jobs and lifestyle. Very remote park and very quiet. Ideal for the dogs. The caravan had the basic necessities for cooking and was comfortable. There was a small shop on site for the basic essentials and a selection of board games, books and dvds which you could borrow for the duration of your stay. My only minor quibble would be that the caravan sleeps up to 6, it was booked for 2 adults and the assumption was therefore made that it was for a couple so only the double bed was made up with no bed linen available for the others. As we were not a couple this was not ideal, but we did have some of our own bed linen with us to make up an extra bed and it certainly didn't detract from a lovely quiet weekend away.

There are caravans which I have stayed in before, clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced but for maximum comfort the Tima Log Cabin is well worth the extra amount.
Loads of storage in kitchen and bedrooms, 2 toilets ,one shower room, en suite bathroom with bath and gas central heating. Large screen t.v with satellite and D.V.D player.
Ideal for early and late holidays when the weather can be colder.

Our log cabin was wonderful. It was very spacious and comfortable. The fire in the lounge made it very cosy and a lovely place to chill out when the weather wasn't very good. It was beautifully clean and well equipped. The beds were nice to sleep on and it was wonderful to have a full sized bath.

Just returned from a wonderful few days in what I can only describe as my little slice of heaven. If you want connectivity to the electronic world, if you want facilities and things to entertain, then this is not the place to be, if you want scenery, scenic walks and drives, peace and quiet and perfect dark nights then it is heaven. We stayed in a static caravan which was lovely, modern, well looked after and easy to live in, a modern gas fire to keep off the cold nights and blown air heating in the bedroom to take off the chill. The beds were made up for us and they had left sachets of tea, coffee and milk for us to use. Dogs are accepted in the caravans, in fact we saw a lot of people with dogs on site both rented and owner caravans (we did take covers for the seats but that was our choice and not a requirement). This site is really remote though, down single lane roads (with passing places) which are frequented by big double trailered timber wagons but dont let that put you off, everyone (drivers of cars and wagons) was very courteous and as long as you dont drive like an idiot you will be fine. Rides out to the local towns provide such scenic routes with the most fantastic scenery and with free roaming sheep in a lot of cases so drive with this in mind. We were unlucky that the road to the nearest town was closed and the diversion was a long way round (but that was just our bad luck and wouldnt affect most other weeks as it was only for that week) it didnt detract from our enjoyment of the time away though, it just meant we saw more scenery than we had anticipated, admittedly we did ignore the road closed signs for quite a while and luckily we did because it meant we found Alemoor Loch which we might not have found otherwise, a brilliant place for the dogs to run and swim and so quiet. Hawick, Selkirk and Moffat were all nice places, we didnt have any more days left so couldnt try any other places, we will do them on our next visit hopefully. The site wardens were lovely and so helpful, parts of the site looked a bit dilapidated in places (few pitches empty and some really old owner caravans about, others were well looked after, it really was a mix) but this was away from where the caravan was so it didnt really make any difference to us. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday site for anyone looking for peace and tranquility away from it all.

The furniture and fittings were great apart from the set of pans, they definitely need replacing as all the non stick coating was peeling off.

We had the most amazing week away at Angecroft Park. Alex & Sarah the site managers went above and beyond to make sure that everything was brilliant and for us to have a fabulous stay. They run a little shop with the necessaties, which I might add, are not over priced and very reasonable. They also have a vast amount of games which you may borrow and a DVD library. They take pride in their work and the upkeeping of the site. The site is immaculate. We stayed in a lodge. It was lovely. There were six of us. My husband & I, my son aged 19 and his girlfriend also 19, and my daughter aged 14 and her friend also aged 14. We also took our two dogs. A large Munsterlander and a cocker spaniel.
We had plenty of room.
When we arrived the lodge was immaculately clean. The lodge consisted of a large open plan area with a lounge area with a three/four seater settee and two chairs with a TV and DVD player. It showed freeview channels. The shop has lots of DVD's to rent. We watched a few films when the midges were in full force! A dining table with six chairs and a kitchen. Which has a gas hob, gas oven, microwave, and a fridge freezer. It's a large fridge and a freezer with two large and one small drawers. They provided everything you needed for the kitchen.
Down the corridor there were a bathroom and three bedrooms. Two twin bedrooms with proper sized single beds, wardrobes and dressing tables and a master bedroom with a large double bed, fitted wardrobes, a large dressing table and chest of drawers. Bedding was provided and all beds were made up and ready for us.There was a en suite bathroom to the master bedroom which could also be closed off from the bedroom and accessed from the corridor as another bathroom/ toilet. The main bathroom had a bath with an amazingly powerful shower over it, a toilet and wash basin. You have to provide your own towels.
We also took our dog crates for our dogs to sleep in.
We took an adult swingball and badminton set with us which were used daily in competitions. We also had lots of family time, playing cards etc. There were beautiful walks around us and lots of wildlife to see and enjoy. The rabbits come out when it's dark. They are obviously happy as they were massive. There is a wooden table with benches outside the cabin to use. On the decking there are no furniture. We took our own table and chairs for the decking.
The fact there was No Phone Signal and No Wi-Fi was a blessing! No one missed it. There was lots of conversation, interaction, and laughter. It was amazing And fabulous!
If you are after a Wi-Fi full, busy holiday thus place is NOT for you. If however you want Relaxation, family and friends time, conversations and interactions this is perfect!
The only con, and it is small is that off site to go and see anything ie Grey Mares Tail waterfall (which is totally worth visiting) it's at least a 45min car journey. Hawick has the large supermarkets, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl and Galashiels has Asda, pets at home, boots, McDonald's etc. They both take time to get to. My advice would be to download maps of the area on your sat nav to use off-line.
I would highly recommend Angecroft Park. We had the bestest time ever!

The Lodge has great potential but needs a bit of TLC. We did have a few dogs with us though so we werent expecting the best of the best as the park very kindly helped us out after a dog care issue. It isnt bad accommodation by any means, just needs a freshen up. Lovely and roomy and relatively comfortable.

Absolutely fantastic holiday park. Been 3 times this year and loved everytime. Myself and my partner went with our two dogs and theres plenty of beautiful places to go walking. One of our dogs is nervous around other dogs so weve always struggled to find a dog friendly place where he can go on stress free walks and theres so many places to go here you rarely bump into other dogs so its ideal! The park owners are really nice and friendly. Theres no phone signal in the park so its a fantastic place to get away. Would definitely recommend this place. Cant wait to go back.

Great location. Pet friendly. Super helpful staff. Highly recommend.
This was just what we needed! The park is small, quiet and well looked after. it is a little bit remote, but that was as described. Shops etc easy to reach by car in approx 30 minutes. We enjoyed a real break, watching the wildlife and walking. The Tima lodge was clean, spacious and comfortable. The park managers were friendly, approachable and helpful.
Staff were friendly, accommodation was good, clean comfortable & stocked with essentials, the site had a good selection of games & DVD's for hire Lots of bird life Would highly recommend
Great location!
We have been for 3 years now it is a great place for quietness and for walking the dog.
Really warm welcome.shown to lodge which was spotless, warm and cosy.loved the holiday.lady who runs park, sorry didn't catch her name was extremely helpful. Great supply of games to borrow at reception and some good dvds to hire. It really is a get away from it all kind of holiday.
This was about our 10th visit to site as we love it. As long as you understand what you are booking i.e a holiday in a quiet area you will not be disappointed. The current wardens are great. We'll be booking again as we love the peace and the tranquillity.
This is a beautiful place to relax. Peaceful and quiet . Sara and Alex who manage the site could not have been more helpful. Cannot wait to return
Everything in order, but area remote for the time of unseasonal weather.
