Our log cabin was wonderful. It was very spacious and comfortable. The fire in the lounge made it very cosy and a lovely place to chill out when the weather wasn't very good. It was beautifully clean and well equipped. The beds were nice to sleep on and it was wonderful to have a full sized bath.

Just returned from a wonderful few days in what I can only describe as my little slice of heaven. If you want connectivity to the electronic world, if you want facilities and things to entertain, then this is not the place to be, if you want scenery, scenic walks and drives, peace and quiet and perfect dark nights then it is heaven. We stayed in a static caravan which was lovely, modern, well looked after and easy to live in, a modern gas fire to keep off the cold nights and blown air heating in the bedroom to take off the chill. The beds were made up for us and they had left sachets of tea, coffee and milk for us to use. Dogs are accepted in the caravans, in fact we saw a lot of people with dogs on site both rented and owner caravans (we did take covers for the seats but that was our choice and not a requirement). This site is really remote though, down single lane roads (with passing places) which are frequented by big double trailered timber wagons but dont let that put you off, everyone (drivers of cars and wagons) was very courteous and as long as you dont drive like an idiot you will be fine. Rides out to the local towns provide such scenic routes with the most fantastic scenery and with free roaming sheep in a lot of cases so drive with this in mind. We were unlucky that the road to the nearest town was closed and the diversion was a long way round (but that was just our bad luck and wouldnt affect most other weeks as it was only for that week) it didnt detract from our enjoyment of the time away though, it just meant we saw more scenery than we had anticipated, admittedly we did ignore the road closed signs for quite a while and luckily we did because it meant we found Alemoor Loch which we might not have found otherwise, a brilliant place for the dogs to run and swim and so quiet. Hawick, Selkirk and Moffat were all nice places, we didnt have any more days left so couldnt try any other places, we will do them on our next visit hopefully. The site wardens were lovely and so helpful, parts of the site looked a bit dilapidated in places (few pitches empty and some really old owner caravans about, others were well looked after, it really was a mix) but this was away from where the caravan was so it didnt really make any difference to us. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday site for anyone looking for peace and tranquility away from it all.

The furniture and fittings were great apart from the set of pans, they definitely need replacing as all the non stick coating was peeling off.

We had the most amazing week away at Angecroft Park. Alex & Sarah the site managers went above and beyond to make sure that everything was brilliant and for us to have a fabulous stay. They run a little shop with the necessaties, which I might add, are not over priced and very reasonable. They also have a vast amount of games which you may borrow and a DVD library. They take pride in their work and the upkeeping of the site. The site is immaculate. We stayed in a lodge. It was lovely. There were six of us. My husband & I, my son aged 19 and his girlfriend also 19, and my daughter aged 14 and her friend also aged 14. We also took our two dogs. A large Munsterlander and a cocker spaniel.
We had plenty of room.
When we arrived the lodge was immaculately clean. The lodge consisted of a large open plan area with a lounge area with a three/four seater settee and two chairs with a TV and DVD player. It showed freeview channels. The shop has lots of DVD's to rent. We watched a few films when the midges were in full force! A dining table with six chairs and a kitchen. Which has a gas hob, gas oven, microwave, and a fridge freezer. It's a large fridge and a freezer with two large and one small drawers. They provided everything you needed for the kitchen.
Down the corridor there were a bathroom and three bedrooms. Two twin bedrooms with proper sized single beds, wardrobes and dressing tables and a master bedroom with a large double bed, fitted wardrobes, a large dressing table and chest of drawers. Bedding was provided and all beds were made up and ready for us.There was a en suite bathroom to the master bedroom which could also be closed off from the bedroom and accessed from the corridor as another bathroom/ toilet. The main bathroom had a bath with an amazingly powerful shower over it, a toilet and wash basin. You have to provide your own towels.
We also took our dog crates for our dogs to sleep in.
We took an adult swingball and badminton set with us which were used daily in competitions. We also had lots of family time, playing cards etc. There were beautiful walks around us and lots of wildlife to see and enjoy. The rabbits come out when it's dark. They are obviously happy as they were massive. There is a wooden table with benches outside the cabin to use. On the decking there are no furniture. We took our own table and chairs for the decking.
The fact there was No Phone Signal and No Wi-Fi was a blessing! No one missed it. There was lots of conversation, interaction, and laughter. It was amazing And fabulous!
If you are after a Wi-Fi full, busy holiday thus place is NOT for you. If however you want Relaxation, family and friends time, conversations and interactions this is perfect!
The only con, and it is small is that off site to go and see anything ie Grey Mares Tail waterfall (which is totally worth visiting) it's at least a 45min car journey. Hawick has the large supermarkets, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl and Galashiels has Asda, pets at home, boots, McDonald's etc. They both take time to get to. My advice would be to download maps of the area on your sat nav to use off-line.
I would highly recommend Angecroft Park. We had the bestest time ever!

The Lodge has great potential but needs a bit of TLC. We did have a few dogs with us though so we werent expecting the best of the best as the park very kindly helped us out after a dog care issue. It isnt bad accommodation by any means, just needs a freshen up. Lovely and roomy and relatively comfortable.

Absolutely fantastic holiday park. Been 3 times this year and loved everytime. Myself and my partner went with our two dogs and theres plenty of beautiful places to go walking. One of our dogs is nervous around other dogs so weve always struggled to find a dog friendly place where he can go on stress free walks and theres so many places to go here you rarely bump into other dogs so its ideal! The park owners are really nice and friendly. Theres no phone signal in the park so its a fantastic place to get away. Would definitely recommend this place. Cant wait to go back.

We had a fantastic week away. Facilities are great. Our caravan was lovely and well maintained with everything in it you could need.
Loved every minute of not having signal and internet. Not for someone that needs to stay connected with the world everyday. But we loved it.
Great base to explore the area. Our dog loved it to especially the rabbits. She loved nothing more than to sit at the window and watch the bunnies hopping around.
The owners couldn't do anymore for us if they tried they were brilliant and welcoming.

Will definitely be back we might aim for the summer next time though and hopefully get some nicer weather so we could sit outside and enjoy more of the scenery.

Thank you both very much for our brilliant stay.

A really enjoyable short break, the location was great with plenty to do in the area, and stunning scenery - The Grey Mares tail Waterfall was well worth the visit.
The log cabin was comfy and cosy, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, the children (teenagers) now want to live in one rather than a house :)
The campsite felt both safe and secure, but also relaxed at the same time, the log cabins were well spaced out with a good sense of privacy. I thought it was very tranquil and I particularly enjoyed the wild birds flying around. No complaints at all, from anyone, which is rare for a family holiday!!

We had a wonderful time at Angecroft Park.

The Lodge was beautiful and clean with plenty of room and very well equipped.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The site is well off the beaten track in a beautiful peaceful location with plenty of picturesque drives and villages in close proximity.

There is no WiFi which I had read in the reviews before we travelled. I kept that one from our two teenage daughters until we arrived. It was quite a novelty for them to use a payphone. We played board games and read books. It was wonderful.

Absolutely loved it here. It's the place to go when you need peace and villages about 40 mins away. The lodge were immaculate and the people running it was fantastic. My only gripe about this place was there is no wifi. We didn't come here for iPads but we could research areas to walk or pubs to go or places to find out if they are wheelchair and dog friendly. please get wifi, it would make this a 10

Thanx v much. My oldest came back relaxed just before her exam and even deleted Fb!!! Scotland made quite the impression :)

We have stayed at Angecroft three times now. The new wardens had only been in for a short while and couldn't be more helpful even keeping us upto date with weather reports. The accommodation is clean and spacious (log cabins).

If you want busy with arcades loads of people and swimming pools this is not the place for you, but if you want quiet, relaxing, picturesque and a great Base to explore from I would highly recommend Angecroft Park.

We had a great time despite appalling weather - managed to entertain two young children at nearby houses with estates containing mazes, animals, playgrounds etc. Had the weather been better we would have used the verandah and the picnic and play area outside the log cabin but, as it was, we were comfortable inside. My son and daughter-in-law were impressed at how much cheaper entry to places was than in Edinburgh and said they would definitely use you again.

When we first went, the caravan seemed great but then turned out to have some problems. In the morning, when we saw the warden and explained what was wrong, he immediately sorted us out with another caravan, which was absolutely perfect. Hence the full marks again. We were cosy and comfortable, the nights outside were freezing but we weren't aware of it except when we looked out the window.

The Tima Log Cabins, are spacious, and comfortably furnished. There ics a reasonable amount of storage space, a gas cooker, microwave, hot running water, A TV/DVD Player, and an electric Fire. Date of stay: 29th August 2015
we accept that being somewhere rural means that you're going to see bugs and cobwebs quite frequently, but on arrival there were dead bugs around the van including in the shower vent, there was lots which I cleaned out myself because my daughter wouldn't use the shower. We would've given a better review score but there are a few things in the accommodation that doesn't work, for example the bathroom heater, oven door, door handles kept falling off, the fridge shelving fell apart, the hoover kept over heating due to no hoover bag, the owner needs to spend a bit of money on the accommodation because these are minor things that can be fixed

This was the first time we had all stayed in a lodge. It was exciting for the kids but also for myself and my partner. Having not stayed in one before we were not quite sure what we would get but upon opening the door on arrival we were not disappointed. Everything we needed was there, and the en suite bathroom was an unexpected bonus!!! Yes it didn't have huge tvs and gold plated taps but what was there was just fine. The facilities that were there were adequate and we could fault them in no way.

The caravan park was in the middle of nowhere. You need to take provisions for first 2 days as a big grocery store is 40 minutes away. There is no mobile reception. Nice area to walk in the Ettrick marshes and nice area to take car and visit lakes and climb mountains( grey mare trail) to see Loch Sheen. Overall a quiet holiday to relax

We had an amazing time at Angecroft Park. Set in beautiful surroundings, our caravan was comfortable and formerly clean, with some welcome little touches ncluded. On arrival the owner walked us to our caravan and showed us around. Nothing was to much trouble, from spring is out a toaster, to providing bikes for my daughter and husband. You definitely need a car to get round, as it is miles from anywhere, but we were looking for somewhere to get away from it all and relax. Lots to see and do around. My whole family loved the holiday and we would highly recommend it.

The campsite was a lovely quiet site, we had a lovely week, all we would say is it is very remote in the middle of beautiful country side, and if you are traveling to other areas it takes you 15 miles before you get onto any good roads. But you drive through some lovely country side. It was really great for us as we were able to take the dogs with us. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was a brilliant park - with lovely staff and very helpful. As such there are no facilities on the park- but we knew this and we did our research first, before booking. I can't wait to get back - it was brilliant for anyone wanting a peaceful week or to get our and explore the surrounding border towns.

It should have been stated in the advert that, as a result of the 'bowl of the hills' there was no mobile/telephone signal at the site. The site was 'very quiet' (not many caravans occupied) in a rural area, and as such COULD have been a potential problem in an emergency. I had to clean the toilet/shower area when I arrived; also a fitting for the shower had to be 'handled with care' - this was repaired by the middle of my second week. The surrounding area was beautiful and so was the weather. The single track roads were not a problem at all to me - I knew from my road map that they were single track. I left on the Saturday, not waiting until the Monday. In all the years, I have never before had to make such a low marking for any of your sites. I understand that the people using 'my' caravan had 'trashed it'. The person did arrange for a TV to be repaired. Actually I do not watch TV very much!

This was just what we needed! The park is small, quiet and well looked after. it is a little bit remote, but that was as described. Shops etc easy to reach by car in approx 30 minutes. We enjoyed a real break, watching the wildlife and walking. The Tima lodge was clean, spacious and comfortable. The park managers were friendly, approachable and helpful.

This was about our 10th visit to site as we love it. As long as you understand what you are booking i.e a holiday in a quiet area you will not be disappointed. The current wardens are great. We'll be booking again as we love the peace and the tranquillity.
Philip
This is a beautiful place to relax. Peaceful and quiet . Sara and Alex who manage the site could not have been more helpful. Cannot wait to return
LINDA

Fun Days Out near Angecroft Park

Kailzie Gardens are another popular attraction and are an excellent place for a day out in the summertime. The gardens are a peaceful and colourful place to spend the day with a wide variety of flora and fauna on display. Other attractions here include live viewing of the Tweed Valley ospreys, a Gift Shop where children can pick up a souvenir, a Tearoom serving tasty local produce and home cooked meals, a Children's Corner, Putting Green, and a gorgeous private 2½ mile stretch on the River Tweed where visitors can enjoy Fly Fishing and a Picnic Area.

Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.

Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
