At Dylan Coastal Resort, you’ll be immersed in the awe-inspiring beauty and drama of the Carmarthenshire countryside and coastline, with spectacular scenery surrounding the clifftop lodges – and accommodation with large windows and private terraces from which to enjoy it.

Perched high above the Taf Estuary – a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its saltmarsh vegetation and fish species – the resort occupies an idyllic location within this stunning area, with the Wales Coast Path stretching out in both directions, providing plenty of opportunities to explore.

The renowned poet, writer and broadcaster Dylan Thomas once lived close by, and his former home and writing shed are open to the public, along with a tearoom, just a 10-minute walk away from the resort.

Other attractions in the area include the National Botanic Garden of Wales (21 miles), Laugharne Castle (less than a mile), the sandy beach of Pendine Sands (4.8 miles), and the quaint seaside town and harbour of Tenby (20.7 miles).

There’s plenty to do at the resort, too, from pampering spa treatments, relaxing in the sauna and steam room, and enjoying a meal or drink at the panoramic bar-restaurant, to more active pursuits such as tennis, swimming, outdoor play, and gym workouts.

The indoor and outdoor infinity pools are a particular highlight!

Date of stay: 11th May 2025
We had a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon have done an amazing job transforming this historic building into a cosy spot. From the warm welcome from them and Bonnie to the peaceful surroundings, everything felt just right. The location is perfect for exploring Essex’s charming villages like Thaxted, which are packed with history and beautiful buildings. Definitely recommend taking the time to wander around and soak it all in. Great place!

We stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and it was surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, were lovely and very welcoming. The place itself is really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we slept like logs on. The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and nicely furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed exploring. Thaxted’s restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. All in all, we’d definitely recommend it!

Date of stay: 5th May 2025
We had such a lovely stay in this charming little spot tucked away in a peaceful area. The owners were genuinely friendly and eager to help whenever we needed anything. It’s just far enough from everything to keep that privacy, but still close enough if you need assistance. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling. One thing to mention - it’s right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of noise from planes. We got used to it quickly though and it didn’t ruin our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at this charming cottage and honestly, it had everything we needed - we didn’t have to bring much at all! The owners, Sharon and Rob, were super quick to reply if we had questions. The welcome pack was really helpful, full of useful info and some nice touches for us and the dogs. The enclosed garden was perfect for the pups and the hot tub was just fantastic after a day out. Overall, a lovely spot for a relaxing break. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We needed a dog walking getaway and it was just spot on. Lovely place to stay, with great pubs and eateries nearby. Plenty of countryside for off-road adventures and the dog refused to get in the car to leave!

We had an amazing stay at this cottage! The place is clearly well looked after and has everything you could need. Our dogs loved the nearby walks and meeting all the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was such a treat. The host was super friendly and responsive. Definitely a great getaway and we’ll be returning soon!

We had a wonderful stay at this good place. The location is just so peaceful and private - perfect for relaxing. The owners are genuinely lovely and always happy to help without intruding on your space. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day cycling around. One thing to note, though, is that the cottage is quite close to Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of noise from the planes. We got used to it quickly and it didn’t ruin our trip, but it’s worth mentioning if noise bothers you. Overall, a lovely place!

We loved staying at this charming cottage! It’s perfectly tucked away for peace but still close to shops and restaurants. The hot tub was fantastic and the underfloor heating made everything super cosy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to return!

We had a great break. The lodge had fabulous views of the estuary and the spa facilities were great. The staff at reception and at the spa/restaurant were very responsive and helpful.

We had a lovely holiday. We stayed in Ferry Hills, the view is just breathtaking and sitting in bed in the master suite looking out onto the estuary was lovely. The property was well equipped and clean. We used the spa everyday as the kids enjoyed the pool a lot. Only drawback to be honest was the sales staff chasing us trying to get us to either buy a property or a timeshare, on the second day of our holiday we were called 5 times and then several the next day- basically Until we agreed to meet them, kind of put a dampener on our holiday to be honest, it wasn’t what we were there for, we were there to relax.

Absolutely stunning setting overlooking the estuary. The lodge was top quality and the swimming pool and changing facilities were excellent. Would highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dylan Coastal Resort. Our sonnet lodge was perfect, quiet and fely very luxury, it had everything we needed including robes and complimentary slippers. A quooker instant boiling hot water tap. The resort facilities were outstanding and the views were beautiful. Location was perfect, the castle and small town of Laugharne is within walking distance.
Lynne
A fabulous lodge overlooking the most stunning coastline. Walking distance to Laugharne, great pubs and cafes. Lots of walking trails from site.
