Situated in 55 acres of beautifully manicured gardens and mature woodland, the lovely Eastdon Estate is accessed by a long driveway that leads to the historical 18th century Georgian house, featuring great views over the Exe estuary. With gorgeous lawns and grounds that slope down to some amazing views, the house has been converted into stylishly decorated luxury apartments including historic cottages.

All accommodation is decorated stylishly, featuring fully equipped kitchens, spacious open plan living areas, and many even have an indulgent private outdoor hot tub, making Eastdon Estate the perfect romantic retreat. Don't miss your very own complimentary welcome pack, which includes all the essentials - local produce, tea, coffee, biscuits, and local ale. The Woodside and Eastdon Stable cottages are beautiful and historical private cottages within the grounds that offer stunning views of the fields and woodland - the perfect home for a relaxing break away.

All guests are welcomed to make the most of the indoor and outdoor facilities at the neighbouring park, Cofton Holidays, which includes complimentary swimming at the indoor heated pool. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the beautiful grounds, woodland, and gorgeous walks to Dawlish Warren, and all facilities on the park are available for free.

Hop from the doorstep and you'll be in the gorgeous onsite woodland, perfect for morning walks. We had a fantastic time, staff checked daily on the hot tub and were very friendly. The cottage is set in a beautiful location away from the main site.
The hot tub was definitely a fantastic feature.

Cottages are lovely very roomy and in a great location. Lovely views across the estuary to Exemouth. Gardens are well kept daffodils were just in bloom.

Fun Days Out near Eastdon Estate

about 5 Miles
Go Ape is the latest craze sweeping the UK offering thrilling adventure for energetic older children, teenagers and adults. With several sites across the UK, Go Ape aims to bring climbing and swinging fun the masses. The sites attractions include Tree Topping, Cargo Nets, Aerial Swings, Zip Wires and Climbing Walls. Suitable for children over 10 years old. Booking ahead is advised.

This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.

This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.

The Donkey Sanctuary is a working refuge for rescued Donkeys but is also a popular place for a day trip in South Devon. The site will appeal to animal lovers of all ages and gives visitors the chance to meet some of the friendly animals and also learn about the work done at the sanctuary. Visitors will also have the opportunity to adopt a Donkey.

Paignton Zoo is one of the UK's largest zoos and is home to thousands of animals from all over the world. Family favourites include the fun and playful Lemurs of Lemur Wood, and the inquisitive and cheeky Monkeys of Monkey Heights. The zoo also aims to educate its visitors and offers regular talks and displays. Other activities include Face Painting, Boat Rides around Gibbon Island and miniature Train Rides. There is also a large Play Area, Restaurant and several Snack Bars.

River Dart Country Park has over 90 acres of woods offering stunning scenic walks, beautiful lakes and open parkland. The park also has a good range of facilities for children including Jungle Ropes, Climbing Frames, Cargo Nets and a wooden Pirate Ship. For younger children there is a toddlers Play Area and a small Beach. During high season supervised activities may include the mega Zip Wire, Canoeing and Rock Climbing.

Woodlands in Dartmouth is a fantastic theme park with non stop fun for everyone. It's also home to the UK's biggest indoor venture centre.  Some of the most thrilling rides are the Cyclone Watercoasters, the Sidewinder and The Mighty Twister.  For younger children there is the Golden Bear City - a superb wild west world with a school house, farm and much more.  All ages are catered for here so why not check out their website for the latest events and admission prices?  You can even watch video clips of the park online.

Dingles Steam Village is an all weather attraction crammed with activities for the whole family to enjoy. The site has a wonderful Café serving home cooked meals, a fun Soft Play Area for younger children, an Agility Course for older kids and several Nature Trails for the family to explore together. The site also displays working and static exhibits of Steam Engines as well as old Fairground Rides so is educational as well as fun!

North Devon Farm Park is a haven for wildlife and has a fantastic location making it the perfect place for a day out during the summertime. There is also a Play Area.
