Where's Ferry Marina Cottages?

We had an excellent weekend in Bittern Cottage with a group of friends. The cottage was well equipped and all 4 bedrooms were en suite which is very rare on the Broads. Location was on a quiet section of the marina, so away from the main river but still a fantastic view. It was walking distance to the Ferry Inn and Pedros restaurant and a slighly longer walk to Horning Village. For some reason the floorboards are very noisy but that was a minor issue that did not spoil our weekend. Highly recommended

Very relaxing stay, enjoying watching the hire boats passing by and the general friendliness of people around. One tip take a torch for evening walks to the pub!

Really loved Horning & Wroxham and would like to go back again but would prefer a cottage on the river with a garden area. It's was a great base to explore other places in Norfolk too. Overall had a great holiday.

Excellent all round. Very clean, modern, well equipped, comfortable. The cottage does have towels and a pack of toiletries provided in each bedroom, the beds are massive!
The kitchen is spotless with plentiful pots and pans, pyrex bowls, modern cutlery, crockery and utensils, also wine glasses.
The cottage also has WI-FI but it is rather slow.

Would highly recommend and happily stay here again.

Date of stay: 17th April 2017
Very large property perfect for two families, the only negative is the floorboards upstairs create a huge amount of noise in the bedrooms below, because of this I would not stay at this property again.

the only thing was that the area for fishing wasn't big enough other wise a lovely quite place

Date of stay: 3rd September 2016
Great accommodation very well situated for the river and all the amenities in Horning village. Could not fault the accommodation apart from the lack of opening windows in the master bedroom and the twin bedded room, both had opening patio doors which were not safe to leave open at night. Also there were a number of lights out some of which were repaired while we were there but 2 were not. However this did not affect our holiday at all and we would recommend to anyone.

Date of stay: 3rd June 2016
The accommodation was beautifully presented, well equipped, and comfortable. A luxurious feeling too. Nicely situated near shops (15 minute walk) and pubs for your needs.
If I had to find something wrong it would only be.. I would have liked a bolt on the inside of the front door at the top or bottom as the childrens bedroom is at front of the building for extra peace of mind. Not a holiday spoiler by any means.

We recently stayed at readlings and it's a beautiful place. Very well equipped and extremely comfortable. When we arrived it was very cold and the boiler had broken but within an hour Peter arrived and it was fixed quickly, he was very helpful. The only thing I would say is the living room wasn't terribly clean, lots of cobwebs but I think we were the first in the property for a little while so I can only assume that's why. If you are staying at Ferry Marina you have to try the local Chinese, China City (we went back to ferry marina for the Chinese alone) and pubs in the little town they are fabulous.

There is no mobile phone signal at the moment so don't expect to take phone calls but there is WiFi available.

As for Ferry Marina itself we were disappointed that the indoor swimming pool doesn't open from November until March and we wasn't advised of the £200 deposit on a credit card that had to be left

Would definitely recommend Readlings to a large family

Reedlings was just lovely, for 6 adults there was so much room, the hot tub was fantastic with robes supplied for when you got out. The open plan kitchen diner lounge just great with superb view of the river. Will definitely be going back. Thankyou

A beautiful comfortable place, the only issue we had with the location is the boat repair yard, it can be noisy and at one point the vehicles appeared to be touching the boundary fencing which was scary when you're sat just over the fence.

It would be practical to have a gate at the top of the stairs on the balcony from the lounge, we had a small child and with all the will in the world whilst we took great care to keep an eye on our grandchild it was precarious at times, a gate would be appreciated as we have re-booked for next year.

There was some confusion over the breakage deposit; £200 which was secured on my card, the £200 couldn't be utilised even though we're told no money would be taken unless anything occurred.
On re-booking Woodsend for 2016 we were told we should 't have been told £200 and the adminustration team didn't believe it had been secured which annoyed me as it was released as soon as we were on our way home. They do need to get there act together here.

Overall we would recommend the Woodsend, a beautiful place, with beautiful surroundings!!

Very pleasant an peaceful location with good facilities in the cottage.

We had an excellent week in Woods End despite the poor weather. The property is well equipped and was very convenient for our party of four who required at least 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. There was a lack of hooks in the bedroom and especially in the bathrooms to hang up towels and dressing gowns and the grouting in all bathrooms needed some attention. Otherwise, everywhere was very comfortable.
Nearby there are a number of eating establishments and it is only 10 minutes into Wroxham where you can buy anything you need from any of the 'Roy' shops. From Wroxham there is a frequent bus service to Norwich which took the hassle out of driving into the city and parking. A few minutes walk from the house is the boat hiring office and this is also well worth doing, if only for the day. The hot tub at the property was a bonus - we used it every evening and it seemed to be well maintained.
Wi-fi in the property was very unstable but that did not worry us but our friends were quite frustrated with the speed of it.

Beautiful location and excellent house, we had a lovely relaxing break. Hot tub a real bonus and day out on broads in hire boat from ferry marina was lovely. Reedlings is a high quality house, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, 4 days wasn't enough, will be booking again next year.

Fabulous time, only one small niggle, felt as the swimming pool was small and we had to show cottage key to get discount, it could have been included in the price of the cottage,

Cygnet Cottage - Brilliant accommodation, couldn't believe how spacious it was, clean and well equipped. Both TV worked and there was Bluetooth speakers for iPod etc but never tried out. Ferry inn just down the road lovely carvery and good menu, (vegetarian, fussy eater, and food allergies all catered for). In Horning try Staithe and willow cafe/restaurant excellent food and service, we ate there at lunchtime not sure if open in evening.

Date of stay: 13th March 2015
Swan cottage is an absolutely beautiful cottage, the furnishings are lovely and wonderful to wake every morning to the sun on the water. A very peaceful and restful location. The only downfall there is no phone reception on any network, and unfortunately there is a staircase in the cottage that we found very steep, that said it was a lovely holiday and very close to Wroxham and Potters Heigham.

Lovely house and added bonus is having an en suite with each bedroom - lovely outlook too. Only one thing that was wrong - when sleeping in the large bedroom downstairs looking out over the river you are woken up by anyone upstairs as the floor is so creaky. Apart from that all lovely and would return.
Thomas
we really enjoyed our holiday even though it snowed it was still very picturesque
Colin
Excellent cottages set in relaxing surroundings with good views, parking for 2 - 3 cars at Kestrel Cottage. Keys are picked up at local reception at end of marina - a note on the booking form or cottage door would have been helpful! Helpful and very friendly staff, the reception also hires good quality boats for half and full days. There are cheaper boats elsewhere but you get what you pay for!
Christine
Great weekend lovely accommodation overlooking the Marina.
Jennifer
Absoulutly smashing
Lauraine
Lovely property in a great location with excellent facilities
Pam
Heron cottage was so comfortable, lovely view, huge bed, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, loved the property,
Marie
We had a brilliant holiday! All the staff were friendly, the accommodation was great and the location was idea for exploring Norwich, The Broads or the coast.
Peter
The only problem was no Internet which was a pain being self employed even being on holiday still need to be in touch
Russell
A well appointed, well positioned accommodation which provides good value for money
Dawn
The cottage was much bigger inside than it looked, we were very comfortable and the surrounding g are was good for visiting the broads. We hired a boat on two occasions and always found the hoseseasons staff helpful. The one thing which let the cottage down was a non stick frying pan.
Susan
After searching for my perfect family holiday for 20years this was the first time I found exactly what suited the who family. It was spacious and quite. Perfect location, beautiful views and friendly people. My son was settled the moment we entered the cottage this was really important as my son has autism and needs lots of personal space. My mum was so relaxed I have never seen her so content. My husband enjoyed the fishing and boats this suited him. Everyone happy made it a really relaxing holiday for myself. I can't explain how great this holiday was to us as a family.
David
Excellent holiday would recommend this accommodation and will definitely comeback.

Fun Days Out near Ferry Marina Cottages

about 1 Mile
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 14 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
about 17 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
about 19 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
about 21 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
about 24 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
about 25 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
about 25 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
about 26 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
about 37 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
