The recently improved indoor pool has a water play area and is great place to spend a rainy afternoon. The all weather bowling green, amusement arcades and café bar and grill also cater well to the temperamental northern weather and ensure the fun never has to stop. While the kids are off having fun the grown ups can enjoy relaxing in the spa treatment rooms or having a drink and game of pool in the bar. Evening entertainment is family friendly and includes bingo and cabaret acts.

Head just a few miles in any direction and you will find plenty of things to see and do. Northumberland National Park, Alnwick Castle, Gateshead Metro Centre and the vibrant city of Edinburgh are all within reach.

Guests can chose to stay in Superior, Deluxe or Prestige caravans. If you are looking for space and luxury then the Prestige is the one to go for. Date of stay: 7th April 2017
We had a wonderful stay at Haggerston Castle. The moment we arrived we noticed how clean and tidy the site was. Our caravan had been cleaned thoroughly for our stay and was spotless. The site itself is well laid out and doesn't feel crowded. The Mash and Barrel provided us with good food and the outdoor space is lovely when the sun shines. All staff that we met from the cleaner, shop assistant to the entertainment crew were very friendly and welcoming.
The queuing at the pool for a band and swim time is a bit of a faff, but I am not sure how this could be streamlined- maybe an online system?
All in all, a wonderful time and we will be returning.
Danielle, Stockton On Tees
Date of stay: 27th March 2017
Brilliant! Value for money and modern. Very comfortable.
Malcolm, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Date of stay: 27th March 2017
Only thing is minor and which is to have a hoover in the caravan as it can get messy with a child. Having said that this I'm not a complaint just a recommendation
Steven, Newcastle
Date of stay: 27th March 2017
Excellent quality caravan. Shower very good, heating brilliant. The only thing was the quality of the mattress on the sofa bed in the living area.

Date of stay: 21st October 2016
Had a prestige caravan which was luxurious. Plenty of kitchenware if inclined to cook on holiday. Shower was spacious & water pressure & heat excellent. Bed comfortable although the quilt just fit the bed - could have done with bigger quilts. We are planning on going again next year.
Joyce, Kirkcaldy
Date of stay: 14th October 2016

Date of stay: 2nd September 2016
Excellent caravan, immaculately clean with good fixtures and fittings. Slightly random set of kitchen equipment (only one small paring knife), but plenty crockery and cutlery for 5.
Steve, Bawtry, Doncaster,south Yorks
Date of stay: 12th August 2016
We had a lovely stay, however never received bedding when we called for some for pull out sofa bed. Also, the pool times were frustrating as we would be gone for day so my children couldn't swim as they weren't there for two queuing times.
Overall, it was a very nice place, close to lots of nice places.
Barbara
Date of stay: 5th August 2016

Date of stay: 22nd August 2015
Very clean. The under-cupboard lighting didn't work and could have done with a better sharp knife. But generally well-equipped and very comfortable and spacious.
Jane, Sunderland
Date of stay: 14th August 2015
So pleased we paid the extra money for a prestige caravan as it was situated in a more secluded and spacious area. Very homely, clean and comfortable.
Chris, Redcar
Date of stay: 10th August 2015
The caravan was lovely spacious and clean. The shower however was non existent, an engineer came out and there was nothing he could do and advised us to get a shower durning the day rather than at night or the morning. When I say non existent I mean a trickle of water down the handle. We ended up swimming twice a day just so we could use the showers there.
Edward, Choppington Northumberland
Date of stay: 20th July 2015

Needs a lamp in bedrooms - lights are too bright to sleep when on, but to dark for children without.

Wish list: wifi in caravan

otherwise fantastic!

John, Aspatria
Date of stay: 8th September 2014
I was unsure of a caravan holiday before coming to Haggerston Castle but I was overwhelmed by the comfort and facilities. I had a medical incident whilst there and the care and speed of attention was absolutely first rate and I was able to complete my holiday successfully. I can't recommend the site more, and would urge anyone to give it a try. I will be back again next year without fail.
Julie, Lancashire
Date of stay: 5th September 2014
The site was bigger than we expected. We stayed the first week in September so it wasn't too busy. The caravan we stayed in was very clean, modern & comfortable. We were located near the stables so luckily we were near to all the entertainment. The evening entertainment wasn't brilliant so we spent most evenings in the Mash & Barrel. We had a chinese takeaway which was very good but we had to drive to pick it up as it was probably a 10 minute walk away. We found that there was lots to see & do in the area.
Mary, Saltburn By The Sea
Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
Took my daughter and children for a break. They all thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty to do and see. Kids loved the characters.
All wanting to go again.
Richard, Scunthorpe
Date of stay: 9th August 2014
Super caravan in a fantastic location. Area we was located was quiet. The arcades was packed but fine but had a drain smell outside but as we spent most of time off site it wasn't a problem. Great location for holy island a and a short train ride to Edinburgh. Super holiday.
Robert, South Shields
Date of stay: 25th July 2014

Kevin, Leven
Date of stay: 30th June 2014

Christine
Date of stay: 30th June 2014
The accommodation was lovely , site nice - a little spoilt but geese poo. I was very disappointed with the spa, it was messy - dirty and after a wait if 70 mins in the reception whilst my step daughter had a massage - not one person spoke or offered me a drink on a hot day. All for the total of £85 - not pressed.
Patricia, Glasgow

Date of stay: 17th May 2014
The park and accommodation were excellent, we were very happy there overall and would certainly return.
Norman, Portsmouth, Hants
Date of stay: 16th May 2014
Overall I found the staff to be helpful and co-operative but this unfortunately did not extend to the serving staff behind the bar. One person in particular was surly arrogant and very unhelpful, at one point she refused to take my breakfast order until I had moved 6 feet along the bar to be 'in the right place'. On another occasion she refused to take my order for drinks while I was standing in front of the pump I wanted my beer from, instead I had to move to her standing at the far end of the bar, to be 'in the right place'. This was in front of my guests, and certainly didn't impress them. Both my wife and myself were ill after drinking this beer. For this reason we did not use the bar again. This unfortunately is the reason for the low score for 'helpfulness' and does not reflect on the other staff who were all that could be asked of them.
Robert, Skipton
Date of stay: 2nd May 2014
Very disappointed on arrival no bed linen and of course the beds where not made up which was in our agreement, but the worst was the smell in one of the bedrooms which smelt of urine we did inform the staff on arrival on the Friday and also on saturday but nobody came till Monday afternoon which was a young lady manager who was very helpful and organised somebody to come and scrub the carpet which they did but the following morning it still smelt of urine so we could not use that bedroom all of the holiday as nobody followed up on weather the smell had gone I gave up contacting them so in some degree it spoilt our holiday if it wasn't for that the place was excellent.
Tracy
Date of stay: 28th April 2014
Caravan nice in nice location, did not like that you needed to walk through all the games to get to anything! Also on Saturday night we could not get a seat in the bar as there was a owner party, many seats were empty in this area and we were stood up in the normal area! Overall good but facilities need some TLC!
Caroline, Edinburgh
Date of stay: 18th April 2014
Haggerston was a lovely site. The 7 for staff was because the girl on the kids activity desk was far too busy at times and it was difficult to book activities and she couldn't effectively describe all the activities, the age restrictions meant that my kids couldn't do an activity together so we didn't do any. The 7 for value for money was because we thought some of the activities were rather expensive, obviously not the Ranger the kids did fire lighting and he was excellent and only a couple of pounds. The swimming pool was good (but very busy) and the location excellent for some beautiful Northumberland countryside. The caravan was lovely and the kids loved the space to bike about outside and make lots of new friends.
Gayle, Ayrshire
Date of stay: 11th April 2014
I feel the only down sides, are the prices for your activities, particularly the climbing, if you have more than 1 child like most by the time we paid for those thing , it would have been cheaper to go abroad.
Colin
The caravan we had was clean and comfortable with the two toilets it really worked for the family. Good heating system and everything needed for a good holiday.

Fun Days Out near Haggerston Castle Holiday Park

about 8 Miles
With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
about 20 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
about 25 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
