Visitor Reviews of Haveringland Hall

Date of stay: 19th April 2025
We had a really relaxing stay at this lovely spot. The privacy was just perfect and the owners were genuinely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling, which we loved. One thing to note is that the cottage sits directly under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our trip. Definitely a place we’d return to!

We stayed at this lovely cottage and honestly, the owners are some of the nicest we’ve come across. They’re super helpful and genuinely friendly. The place itself is adorable - a traditional half-timbered home with a really strong shower, cosy kitchen and lounge, plus a super comfy bed. Parking right outside is a real plus. It’s warm, spotless and perfect for exploring with nice walks to Thaxted and nearby villages filled with charming old houses and windmills. We loved it!

Date of stay: 28th February 2025
We stayed for a week over the February half term with our mum, two kids and two dogs. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and the manager gave us such a warm welcome, which was lovely. Despite having other guests around, it was surprisingly peaceful and quiet, perfect for a relaxing break. We enjoyed some fantastic walks with the dogs each day and the onsite swimming pool was so clean and inviting - such a shame we didn't have enough time to make the most of it! The hot tub was a real highlight, huge and at just the right temperature, which the kids loved. The kitchen was a bit tight for space, but manageable since we're used to a bigger one at home. It might help to have scissors and a gravy jug there. One thing that was a bit annoying was the hot tub being drained on checkout morning without any warning - the kids were really disappointed not to have a last dip. The garden was flooded too, so we couldn’t let the dogs out, but overall, it was a lovely stay!

The location was perfect for exploring, with plenty of walks nearby. Thaxted and the surrounding villages are charming spots to visit. Honestly, our batteries are definitely recharged after a relaxing week. Would happily return!

We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and honestly, it was a great experience. The owners are genuinely friendly and go out of their way to help, which we really appreciated. The place itself is charming - a beautiful half-timbered building with a super strong shower, a cosy combined kitchen and living space and a really comfy bed. Parking right next to the cottage was a big plus. It’s well-heated, spotless and perfect for exploring the walks to Thaxted or popping over to the nearby village with its lovely half-timbered houses and windmill. We’d definitely come back!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and honestly, it was lovely. Rob and Sharon have done a fantastic job turning this historic building into a cozy place to stay. They greeted us so warmly and Bonnie was a sweet touch! The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages - so much history to soak up. We stayed at this adorable cottage and honestly, it had everything we could possibly need - we didn’t have to pack much! The owners, Sharon and Rob, really thought of everything, from the handy welcome pack to the little extras for our dogs. The enclosed garden was perfect for the pups and the hot tub was such a treat after long days. They responded super quickly to any questions, which we appreciated. All in all, a lovely, relaxing break - we’ll definitely be back!

Date of stay: 11th September 2024
We stayed here for a week in July with our two little dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The cottage itself was charming and the hot tub was a real highlight-especially since it was scorching outside, so having a cool dip was perfect. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel really welcome, which we appreciated. Watching the planes land near Stansted added a nice touch, even if we could hear them sometimes. Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy the countryside. We’d definitely recommend it!

We loved our stay at The Clock House! The charming atmosphere made it perfect for relaxing getaways. Its handy spot just north of Norwich means we could easily explore the Norfolk Broads, coast and the city itself. The pool was a real highlight and booking was straightforward with their paper system. Definitely recommend!
