The Lodge was very nice.
Two problems.
The tv cut out as it was sky tv and the trees were blowing and blocking the signal was not a problem as didnt use the tv much.
The knob for the shower which allows different shower settings seemed loose and needed to be pushed in to operate was actually a bit difficult to use.

Would probably overall after spending a lot of money here over the 4 years give you an overall rating of 6 not great but its not the worst place to stay. Although the place is clean.

Rebecca
Date of stay: 28th October 2016
Location and facilities in the lodge were great, had everything we needed.
However, the lodge seemed a little run down and although it had been cleaned I think a bit more attention to detail needed especially as advertised as VIP. The oven and windows had not been cleaned, carpets were getting a bit threadbare, odd dining chairs and outside the decking and fence around the hottub could do with painting. Also the fence provided little privacy around the hottub and it felt a bit exposed.
Considering the price paid, especially for a school holiday it still seemed good value for money.

Date of stay: 16th May 2016
The only negative I have which is the reason for 7/10 is we couldn't pull the blinds down in the living area without the fixture popping off & the taps in the ensuite came off (sink & shower), the shower itself worked but it's holder was loose & the jets weren't working. No wifi was a bit annoying so couldn't chill out with Netflix (tv had free view but literally the basic channels) but wasn't really too fussed.
Although this is minor-the curtains/blinds were dusty & lots of cobwebs around windows & doors & hot tub steps etc (not a complaint at all but if I didn't say then it can't be corrected) x

This was our second visit and we forgot that the kitchen equipment is very limited for cooking meals. Things like a cheese grater would have been really useful along with other things
Jennifer, Dublin
Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
This is the second time we stayed here , we love the lodge , they are beautifully decorated and have everything and more than what you need . This time however we did find the cleanliness had dropped slightly and one of the beds needs maintenance. But the value for money is incredible . Compared to what you would have to pay to stay in a hotel of such standard these lodges are a steel. We will continue to use them and are keen to see other parks .
Philip, Portsmouth
Date of stay: 17th October 2015
However, Everything else was excellent and I will certainly be back again next year.
Zoe, Broxbourne
Date of stay: 5th October 2015
We enjoyed our 2 nights in the Roydon VIP lodge so much that we have booked a 3 night stay for next month. The lodge was spotlessly clean and spacious and really comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils - I was able to produce a full Sunday lunch without running out of pans etc. And the hot tub - wow - it was glorious and so private! I've never sat in the garden in bubbling hot water before, watching the stars at 1.00am! It was fantastic. The only negatives were (and I'm being picky) we could only get 1 channel on the TV - BBC1, but who really wants to watch telly when there's a hot tub to play in! And again, not that it really bothered us, the hot tub was supposed to be checked by staff each day and it wasn't but, to be honest, we were happy not to be disturbed. Treat yourselves and book a break - you won't regret it!
Anthony, London
Date of stay: 25th September 2015
Cannot wait to book our next break. Felt at home as soon as we walked through the door.

Lovely Holiday. Lodge was private and had a great little garden area where we enjoyed watcing the birds as we sat in the Hot Tub
Ashley, Newark-on-trent
Date of stay: 29th August 2015
Only the rain was a a negative (not your problem!), but everything else was good to excellent. Only gripe with lodge 16 the hot tub is much more exposed than the others I saw and some things a little dated and worn.
Rob, Nettleton

Date of stay: 23rd March 2015
We stayed here for a long weekend with 2 sets of twin babies and a 10 year old. On paper we didn't fit in the lodge as a party of 8, but the staff were excellent at reassuring us we would fit and continued to support us on arrival and throughout our stay. The lodge was spacious and clean and we never felt we were crowded. The hot tub was an added treat and again was clean and warm on arrival. The park itself doesn't have anything to do,especially for older children so it is a trip out everyday but it is a beautiful location and very peaceful.
Stephanie, Milton Keynes

Lovely thank you

Date of stay: 9th March 2015
We stayed in lodge 7 which is very spacious with an open plan living/ kitchen area with two bedrooms both with en suite facilities one containing a bath the other a very high tech shower. The bed was comfortable and towels were supplied as well as a couple of dishwasher tablets and some olive oil sample products which was a nice touch. Once up to temperature the hot tub was lovely, only thing was you felt a bit exposed as you were getting in and out of it but that's only for a few seconds. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and it was a lovely surprise there being sachets for coffee, tea, sugar and minature pots of milk so that you could make a few cups of tea when you arrived! Living area was nice with freeview and a DVD player, the sofas looked nice however one of them was losibg it support when you sat on it but as it was only myself and my husband on a mini weekend break without the children that didn't matter too much. A very nice lodge and would certainly consider staying again.

lodges were brilliant all the mod cons you would want, mattresses need replacing though, could do with local food takeways,as nothing near by apart from pub nearby. would definately recommend, nice clean place.

I was a single person travelling on business; the chalet was clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with everything that you could need to self-cater. I understand that the hot tub was available to me, however, I did not take advantage of this as the weather was freezing. The only, very minor, downside was the heating system, which had to be started every two hours by pushing a button, and, as the chalet is quite large, getting it warm took a couple of hours, so I had to keep remembering to push the button.

There is plenty of open space for children to play and many families like to bring a picnic. The beautiful house dates back to the 17th Century and the interior has been sympathetically restored to retain many original features. The ornamental gardens offers beautiful floral displays at all times of the year. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays.
