We had a fantastic stay! The cottage was super well-maintained and had everything we needed. Plenty of lovely walks for the dogs just outside the door. The host was really friendly and quick to respond, which made everything smooth. We loved meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig. Definitely coming back-great value! Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels surprisingly private. Robert and Sharon are such friendly hosts, really warm and welcoming. The place is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The garden’s perfect for dogs - totally private and furnished nicely. We enjoyed exploring the nearby walks and tried some great restaurants in Thaxted, especially The Star and The Maypole. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at this place during a rainy December and honestly, it was perfect. The house is super well equipped and kept us cosy all weekend. The bath was fantastic and the shower was big enough for a proper rinse! Being on a flight path didn’t bother us at all-don’t let that put you off. Ideal spot for dogs that dislike fireworks, in the middle of nowhere. Thanks a lot!

Parking right next to the cottage is a big plus and we enjoyed walking through the fields to Thaxted. Definitely a place we'd return to!

We had such a lovely stay in this charming little spot. The location is stunning and feels very private, which we really appreciated. The owners are super friendly and helpful, always nearby if you need anything but without intruding on your peace. The hot tub was a real highlight after a day out cycling-absolutely perfect! A quick heads-up: the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our holiday at all. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely quiet and relaxed site. Lodges are spacious, well maintained, well equipped and very clean. Close to Dartmoor and 30 minutes from the beaches of Bude. Roadford lake, which is great for water sports is just down the road.

We spent five nights in Ruby Country Lodges. The complex was in a secluded spot and there was plenty of things to do in the area. It was calm and peaceful. The maintenance staff Mark was available every day and he and his colleagues are up keeping the complex to a high standard. The instructions for guests was extremely clear and all our queries were answered in the booklet.

This was our 3 rd visit and the lodge which was a Tamar is looking tired and some of the kitchen cupboards and cooker need a good steam clean. Dirty marks on the mattress which we only discovered when we stripped the beds. Needs updating and refreshing especially the decking and outdoor furniture

We have been going to Ruby lodges for about 8 years now and we absolutely love it! It’s quiet and relaxing and such a peaceful retreat. The lodges are always spotless and the staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them, we would highly recommend it here.
