Northumberland is renowned for its beautiful clean beaches - and Whitley Bay's golden sands are a prime example. The town boasts a huge choice of cafés, bars and restaurants and it's also within easy reach of Gateshead and Newcastle. The park has some superb facilities and there's a large nature reserve and some stunning cliff top walks to explore.

It's a great family park with a large outdoor play area, an indoor heated pool and live entertainment and discos in the Showbar. There are organised sports and leisure activities and amusements plus a bar, restaurants and takeaway food outlets. Tynemouth has two beaches and offers traditional seaside fayre, including ice-cream and fish and chip shops.

The Hexham is a great caravan for larger families - or for groups of up to eight people. It has one double bedroom and two twin rooms and there's plenty of space for two people to sleep in the lounge area. All the caravans have TVs and microwaves and the Hexham also has double glazing and central heating.

Get out and about on foot - it's the best way to see the stunning countryside. The Mitford Castle Walk is a gentle two mile stroll through farmland, with views of beautiful St Mary's Magdalene Church and the castle's five-sided keep.

Our Top Tip
"Enjoy splashing in the water at Prudhoe Waterworld - check out the shallow beach, wave machine and 40 metre aqua-slide!"

The caravan was a little bit cold in the main living area BUT we did go when then beast from the east II was about so maybe that was more the problem than inadequate heating. Bedrooms & toilet area were warm enough though.

Lovely, nearly new caravan which had only a couple of issues resolved by phoning the front desk. The only thing we found annoying was the heating which was either very hot or very cold. We resolved this by leaving the internal corridor/living area door open at all times.

Just the actual location of caravan with no path leading to it.

Weather was a let down but we still enjoyed our holiday
Christopher
The only issue I have is that the caravan heating system was useless.Wall radiators were a complete waste of time . The main electric fire wasn't strong enough to warm quickly. Would suggest this is a Summer caravan .The caravan itself was excellent
Catherine
We had a wonderful visit. Clean site, lovely accommodation and Darren in the restaurant was fabulous. Just wish the British weather had been as impressive!
Sharon
I absolutely loved the caravan. It was beautiful. My only issue was that there is no path to the stairs into the van & due to the weather the grass got very muddy. The location to the entertainment was fantastic!! The entertainment was fabulous also. The price of food & drink was a bit steep. There was plenty of things to do if we so desired. This was my second trip to Whitley Bay & it won’t be my last. My 9yr old daughter enjoyed it also.
Jean
We hired a static caravan for four nights as we needed to be close to the Freeman hospital as my wife was being admitted there.
