Visitor Reviews of Bron Eifion Lodges

Date of stay: 16th March 2025
We recently spent four lovely nights at Bron Eifion Lodges with our dog and honestly, it was a great stay! After reading some reviews post-booking, we were a bit worried about whether our chosen accommodation would live up to expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were genuinely friendly and made everything so easy. The cabin was spotless, comfortable and had pretty much everything we needed - though a drying rack would’ve been handy since the washing machine was so useful! Watching the sunset and star-gazing from the hot tub, with the sound of pheasants in the background, was a real highlight. The lakeside views, especially with the steam rising in the morning, felt truly magical. Plus, having your own parking space right outside the lodge was a bonus. The electricity was metered and we only spent about £10 over the whole stay, which made us more mindful of our usage. It’s so peaceful and surrounded by nature - perfect for dog walks and relaxing in the hot tub. We’d definitely come back!

Can't wait to come back! Beautiful views, friendly staff and lovely beaches-such good value for money. Cheers!

Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. The worktops had chunks missing, the cooker and pans looked grimy and there was a strong urine smell. The sofa cushions were stained and the bedroom mirror was taped at the back. The bathroom's hot tap also kept failing to work. Not what we expected at all.

Great staff, really helpful, decent fishing, will return soon!

This place was honestly a nightmare. The whole flat was filthy - ripped sofas, stained curtains and dirty floors. The TV didn’t work and the hot tub was gross. We left covered in spots and there was dust and cobwebs everywhere. Only good thing was the location.

We stayed at the lodge recently and found it pretty well stocked with all the appliances we needed. It could definitely use a good deep clean and the mattress in the master bedroom was quite thin, but we managed to get a decent sleep after giving it a quick tidy ourselves. The hot tub was a highlight-nice and warm when we arrived, even if the jets weren’t that powerful. Overall, for the price, it was a fair stay and we enjoyed the view of the trees.

The place was alright for what we needed, but honestly, it could use a proper clean and some fixing up. Definitely room for improvement, really!

The lodge was really dirty and so was the equipment.

Decent place, but honestly, it’s pretty dated and definitely needs some serious TLC. Not very clean either.

We stayed for a long weekend of golf and it was alright. The lodge felt a bit worn out and there was a dog smell, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our trip at all.

The furnishings really looked tired and worn out, honestly. The sofas had been covered, so that was something. The hot tub was a bit rusty and the fence around it was broken down. Not great!

We had a lovely time staying here. Carol really went the extra mile for us. The cabin was super cosy and our dog loved it too! The lake was so peaceful, though the road was a bit bumpy with potholes. Still, a great break overall. Thanks!

We’ve visited Cedron Lodge numerous times and it always ticks all the boxes for us.

Honestly, we won’t be returning after this. The place was pretty grimy and not comfy at all. The shower barely worked, there were ants on the worktops and the hot tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Utensils were missing too. Very disappointing.

Great place, felt really at home. Perfect for a chill break!

The cabin was pretty spotless and well-kept, which was great. We loved the spa and the quiet atmosphere, just a heads-up about the wet dog smell though-bring some Febreze! The lack of a dishwasher was a bit of a pain and the £1 electric meter adds up quickly, but overall, a decent self-catering spot for a getaway.

Honestly, we didn’t feel like it was worth the price at all. Some kitchen cupboards were missing doors and the drawers were broken, which was a pain. The utensils, pots and pans weren’t much good either - pretty disappointing. The kettle was stained and needed replacing and the toilet door stuck so badly we had to bang it to get in or out. Plus, there was a hole in the decking outside, just covered with a traffic cone-bit of a safety hazard really.

Honestly, we stayed here over Christmas as a family and it was a total nightmare. For four nights, we expected at least some level of cleanliness or comfort given the price, but what we got was far from that. The sofas were ripped apart, with the fake leather peeling off in big patches and the beds had missing slats, which made sleeping a nightmare. The mattresses weren’t just stained - they had mould spores and dark yellow stains and the pillows and bedding weren’t any better, also stained and grimy. Dust, rust and cobwebs were everywhere - on the windows, doorframes and furniture, which was honestly disgusting. The kitchen was no better; crockery and utensils were dirty, some were missing altogether and the microwave, toaster and oven were coated in old, dried food. It smelt terrible, like mould and urine and the whole place just reeked. We were shocked when we found out we had to pay extra for electricity, which wasn’t mentioned in the original booking. The owner’s response when we raised concerns was pretty rude - they told us to go home if we didn’t like it. The fire extinguisher was 14 years out of date and the electrics hadn’t been checked for over a decade. The hot tub was covered in slime, with what looked like snot floating on top. Honestly, this place really needs to be shut down. We wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Honestly, our stay was quite disappointing. We arrived ready to relax, but found no hot water to wash up, which was a pain since we had to keep boiling the kettle, eating into the coin-operated electricity. The place was pretty dusty with cobwebs all around and the broken cooker door didn’t help. One of the kitchen drawers was missing and the curtains had missing hooks, making them look pretty untidy. The oven tray was also dirty with burnt residue-definitely not what we expected. We were given a tenner for electricity, or told to fetch hot water from the neighbouring cabin. Not ideal at all.

Honestly, we were pretty surprised when we arrived at this place. The chalet was cosy and surprisingly warm considering it’s made of wood, which we really appreciated. We stayed for four days and didn’t use much electricity at all, so we’re puzzled about why the previous guest’s bill was so high. The site itself is smaller than it looks online - not much walking around, which was a bit of a letdown. The location is lovely though, with a nice walk into Criccieth that took about 25 minutes and the town itself is charming, with friendly staff in the pubs and cafes. Now, on to the less good stuff - the maintenance could definitely do with some attention. We noticed mould patches on the windows and there were signs of unwanted visitors - slug trails around the living areas, one in the sink on our first morning, another on the cupboard side the next day and some on the floor later on. That kind of stuff is way more important than mismatched crockery or the absence of a DVD player (who even watches DVDs anymore?). Plus, there’s no Wi-Fi or signal, which honestly was a bit of a blessing for us to really disconnect, but others might find it inconvenient. The chalet’s interior was quite dark - dark wood walls, navy curtains and low wattage bulbs - so it was tricky to see sometimes. Dirty curtains and dusty walls also need a proper clean. We think the whole place could do with a deep clean and sealing up access points for creatures. Overall, it’s a nice spot with a lot of potential, especially if the owners put a bit more effort into maintenance. We enjoyed our stay, but there’s definitely room for improvement!

Really enjoyed staying here, the cabins are super close to the fishing spots! Enjoyed it a lot.

Date of stay: 1st November 2023
Honestly, the photos looked much more luxurious than what we actually received. The lodges seemed quite worn out and the showers had leaks that made a mess. The lake nearby was beautiful and the kids and dogs loved it. It would’ve been nice to get some heads-up about the track conditions beforeh and. The lady running things was lovely, though!
Emma, Stockport
Date of stay: 31st May 2022
The place is pretty straightforward, but it has all you need. The curtains looked quite faded and the cooker’s dials are worn out from over-cleaning, so no numbers left. Still, everything functioned fine. We’d stay again for sure. Checked out next door’s place which seemed a bit more modern with a lovely log burner-definitely considering that next time!
Emma, Wallasey
Date of stay: 23rd May 2022
Really enjoyed it, will definitely return soon.

Date of stay: 25th April 2022
Honestly, it’s not fancy but it ticks all the boxes. The place is clean and in great shape, so you can relax and enjoy your stay. We cooked for two nights and everything we needed was there - no fuss. The nearby Cricceth for takeout is handy too. The hot-tub was the highlight, always spotless and working perfectly. It’s simple, but we had a lovely time overall!

Date of stay: 17th April 2022
We loved the spaciousness of this lodge, perfect for a relaxing break. The three bedrooms suited us well. Sure, the creaky floors were a bit annoying, but that's just how wooden lodges are. Definitely recommend!
Emma, Bognor Regis
Date of stay: 17th April 2022
The lodge was spotless overall, just a few tiny mould patches on the shower sealant. The mattress took some getting used to, as it was quite springy at first.

Stuart

Charlotte
Had a really good holiday, really nice location and great pod. The hot tub was amazing feature. Thank you. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Emily
Fantastic stay overall! Very warm welcome on arrival and shown all amenities. Pod was clean and well presented and had everything a person could need. I liked that the kitchen had all utensils available and had a real homely feel. Very close to town and local attractions. A gentle 20 minute stroll into town for dinner and to paddle in the sea. View from pod was amazing especially on a clear evening when you can sit in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly!
Gareth
I went here with my girlfriend for her birthday & we needed a getaway that was peaceful but fun at the same time. This fit that agenda perfectly! Couldn’t of asked for a better holiday.
Ray
Lovely few days away. The pod was a bit tired, but perfectly adequate. The hot tub was amazing. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful.
