We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely kind and so thoughtful - couldn't ask for more. The cottage is adorable, with its charming half-timbered style and a really powerful shower. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it perfect for relaxing. Parking right next to the property was super convenient and everything was spotless and well heated. Great walking trails nearby to Thaxted, with its pretty houses and windmill. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at The Lodge and, honestly, it’s a mixed bag. Some areas felt a bit tired, missing a headboard and the small double bed wasn’t quite what we hoped for. Still, it was clean, the facilities were decent and the staff were really friendly. We’d definitely return for a quick off-season getaway despite the little snags!

Our holiday was brilliant. We spent very little time at the facility and spent our days travelling around Cornwall. We visited St Ives for the first time and it’s as lovely as people say! And I definitely recommend polly joke beach in Newquay for a seal hot spot!

Our dogs adored the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna was wagging her tail non-stop! She even strained it, but the vet said it was just from all her excitement. Happy pups, happy us!

We stayed at Lidden Lodge No 30 and really enjoyed it. The location by the lake was stunning and the big decking area was perfect for relaxing, though another chair would’ve been a nice addition. Inside, the lodge felt cosy but was still well equipped and spotless. The only downside was the shower, which screeched loudly every time-probably to encourage quick showers! The hairdryer didn’t sound great either, so we were a bit cautious. Still, it was a lovely break and we’d definitely recommend it!

The owners were so welcoming and really went above and beyond when the power was knocked out by the storm. The place was spotless, warm and well-equipped. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we loved the hot tub!

From the moment we arrived, Rob & Sharon made us feel really welcome and Bonnie was adorable too! They’ve put a lot of effort into preserving this historic building and it shows. The location is perfect for exploring Essex - we loved wandering around Thaxted and checking out the lovely villages nearby. Goddard's Mead is just what you need for a chilled, comfy stay. Definitely recommend it if you’re after a peaceful getaway!

We really enjoyed the cabin; it’s clearly had some upgrades since last year. A few things like the vegetable peeler, wooden spoon and some pans are missing, probably lost during previous visits. If we’d asked, we’re sure they’d have sorted it out. Overall, we love the place and always look forward to returning!

We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. Robert and Sharon are such lovely hosts, making us feel right at home. The place is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to get out of. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and furnished nicely. We also enjoyed exploring the nearby walks and Thaxted’s restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Wonderful cabin with an amazing hot tub! Would recommend for the future. Two small things to improve on which were specified on the last review. Would only say that the bed and the pillows were a bit too soft for our liking but that's personal preference. Everything else was amazing and very clean and accommodating! Thank you!

Lovely lodge with hot tub, well situated for lots of different visits. Very clean and comfortable within a good distance for loads of attractions. Initially the road to arrive is a bit of a scary drive as it is very narrow. You soon get used to it and all drivers are very considerate as these narrow roads often lead you to the most interesting places.

We have been coming to this sight for many years and have seen it developed .The position of this sight in Cornwall is one of the best ,positioned down a small lane not far from all the lovely beaches and Perranporth itself.The lodges are tucked away with lots of trees surrounding them and very peaceful.The lodge interior was comfortable and clean and all you need while you are on holiday.We stopped for two weeks and we asked if we could have fresh towels for the second week which they provided also changing our bed sheets at the same time.
