Excellent short break
Emma
Date of stay: 15th March 2025
We arrived to find a disposable razor just lying on the hallway floor near the boiler cupboard, leftover from previous guests. Not great, especially with kids around, but luckily we didn’t have any issues ourselves.
Emma Clarke
Date of stay: 7th March 2025
The lodge didn't quite match the photos, being a bit dusty and not as clean as expected. However, the staff at reception were super friendly and helpful. The location and the property itself were really lovely, so overall, not too bad!

Date of stay: 6th March 2025
Honestly, the staff here are genuinely fantastic. Super friendly, always ready to help and great at keeping us updated. They really do stand out as some of the nicest folks we've come across at any park. We did have a bit of a hiccup with the lodge, though. The barn looked pretty worn out and in need of some serious TLC. No hot tub on the first night was a bit of a letdown, especially since my MS was flaring up and I was really hoping to soak and relax. It took until the second night for it to heat up again, which was a bit frustrating. The place itself is tired, quite battered and honestly, pretty grimy in places. We were a bit shocked to find old toothpicks in the rug! Despite that, the bedding was clean and the staff’s attitude made up for it. Would definitely return for the staff alone!

Date of stay: 2nd March 2025
The cabin was absolutely stunning-spotlessly clean, modern and really feels like a show home when you arrive. Sitting in the hot tub with that view over the lake was just perfect. Can't wait to come back!

Date of stay: 23rd February 2025
We really enjoyed our stay in the 3-bedroom barn. It looked exactly like the photos - actually, maybe even better! Everything we needed was there. Definitely recommend it and we’ll be coming back for sure. Lovely place!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 16th February 2025
Very friendly staff, the lodge was spotless and tidy.
Rachel
Date of stay: 12th February 2025
I’ve stayed here a few times and honestly, the barns are pretty packed in. They definitely need proper upkeep though, lots of things that could be sorted out. It’s not the first time I’ve noticed this either. Wouldn’t rush back.

The lodge was fine - the sofa not the most comfortable but OK. The light switches were very confusing. Lovely deck and outside seating.Beds comfortable and bathrooms clean.
Emily
Date of stay: 27th November 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge; it’s spacious and beautifully decorated with a modern touch. Honestly, it’s one of the nicer places we’ve stayed in! The only downside was the heating, which kept breaking down, so maintenance had to come every day, saying it was a manufacturing fault. They offered us a move, but we decided to stick it out. Also, on our last night, the hot tub jets weren’t working properly because it was in “demo” mode, but we told reception when we checked out the next morning.
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 26th November 2024
Honestly, we weren’t impressed. The place had barely any decent equipment and the boiler kept faulting, so no hot water in the mornings. The furniture looked really worn out, with chips and scratches everywhere. The front door kept banging and rattling loudly during the storm, which kept us awake all night. Definitely not what we expected for a short stay.
Emma
Date of stay: 12th October 2024
The inside was lovely, really cosy and clean. Sadly, the outside was a no-go due to wet furniture and loads of green moss, plus the decking was a bit dodgy.
Sarah
Date of stay: 2nd October 2024
Could’ve been better, honestly.
James
Date of stay: 3rd September 2024
The lodge was really spacious, which we loved and the quality of everything was top-notch. Only thing missing was bigger beds, but overall, superb stay!

Date of stay: 22nd August 2024
Really enjoyed our stay, the place was spacious, clean and perfectly located for us.
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 22nd August 2024
Overall, quite a good experience. Some minor issues, but maintenance responded swiftly and sorted everything out.
Emma
Date of stay: 2nd August 2024
The lodge was really lovely, but we found a crack in the main bathroom’s shower tray which caused the en-suite to leak downstairs, so not perfect overall.
Emily Carter
Date of stay: 29th July 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with the overall experience. The place was quite dirty and the pool definitely needs a proper clean and a shutdown for maintenance. The showers in the charging rooms? Not somewhere I’d even wash my dog in-they looked grimy and neglected. The lockers were another letdown; they’re shabby and some locks don’t even work, which is really frustrating. When it comes to the pool, you can’t go more than once a day, which was a bit of a pain. We booked it for our grandchildren, but after the first visit, they didn’t want to go back-says a lot about the condition, I think. Interestingly, it’s the only free activity, yet whenever we went near, it was practically empty. You have to leave your shoes outside before entering, with no secure place to keep them, which is a bit of a hassle. Staff often walk from outside directly onto the poolside, so it doesn’t feel very secure or hygienic. For anyone with mobility issues, it’s not ideal. There’s a stair lift, but you have to ask reception to use it, which isn’t very convenient. The stairs up to the bar are a pain and down by the Flowrider, there’s no lift at all-just stairs. If you want to exit at ground level, you need to go through the emergency exit and take off your shoes, which is a bit of a faff. My daughter was taken through treatment rooms once just to get out-really not great. Parking for disabled visitors is poorly managed too. Staff seem to park in disabled bays at the main reception and some additional spaces are blocked by holidaymakers or staff. When booking, it’s worth checking if your pathway to the accommodation is step-free; ours had stairs, which we didn’t realise beforehand. The grounds around the site could definitely do with some TLC. In terms of activities, they’ve got age and height limits, so check those beforehand. Our grandchildren are 12 and 10 and they needed an adult with them in the aqua park, which was a bit of a shame because we’re a disabled family, so some activities were off-limits. The Flowrider was definitely a highlight though-it’s fantastic and the instructors are excellent. Our granddaughter, who usually lacks confidence, was standing up by the end, which was lovely to see. We also tried to book a table at the restaurant; two staff members took our phone numbers, but nobody ever got back to us. We had to book online instead. On a positive note, our accommodation was really lovely-everything we needed was there. And the staff were friendly, which we appreciated. Overall, it’s a mixed bag, but some things need serious improvement.

Really enjoyed staying here, the place was lovely and the service was quick when we needed help.
Emma
Date of stay: 28th April 2024
We stayed in the 4-bed lodge with the hot tub and rooftop terrace, which was lovely. The 2-bed looked really nice too, but it only had one bathroom, so we probably would've gone for that if it had a second one. Overall, a good stay!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 21st April 2024
Overall, our holiday was okay, but we faced a few annoyances. The electrics kept tripping twice and we were told to leave a switch off, which didn’t help much. The lack of toilet rolls was frustrating, having to ask for more. Outside furniture looked neglected and could do with a good clean. Signage around the park would also be helpful for visitors.
Emily Wright
Date of stay: 9th April 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The self-catering aspect was a bit of a let-down since we had to bring our own toilet roll - not what you expect! The heating was completely dead and every time we cooked, the fire alarms went off which was a nightmare. There was mould around the doorframes, cobwebs everywhere and some cutlery was missing. The radio hadn’t been PAT tested in ages either. It’s a nice spot, but it definitely needs some TLC to really shine. With a bit of work, it could be lovely though!
