Robin Hood Caravan Park is set just on the edge of Castle Howard estate which was made famous by TV's Brideshead Revisited. This is a great holiday park where you can really escape from city life and enjoy peace and quiet. The countryside around the park is great for enjoying outdoor activities such as walking and cycling and nature lovers will enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the area.

The park itself has a launderette and children's play area but no other facilities however you are very close to the market towns of Malton Pickering and Helmsley where you can enjoy shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the markets themselves. The vibrant city of York is also just a short drive away and has plenty of things to see and do including a huge selection of shops, bars and restaurants.

Accommodation at Robin Hood Caravan Park is in modern holiday homes which are well equipped for self catering. The Rosedale Caravan is the most luxurious with a spacious lay out and two bedrooms. The Dovedale caravan is great for larger families with one double and two twin bedrooms.

Fun Days Out in Vale Of York

Dig promises a unique fun and educational experience and is the ideal place for a family day out. The site features four exciting excavation pits filled with Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian remains which children will just love digging up! While discovering the treasures children can speak to the friendly staff and learn about the items they are finding.  There are also three discovery rooms where children can try out various archaeological techniques, a science lab where experiments are plentiful and a field tent offering a range of activities. Pre booking is recommended during school holidays and at weekends.

Castle Howard

Castle Howard is a beautiful place for a day trip set within 1,000 acres of glorious parkland and garden. The site is home to the historic castle itself but also has many other attractions including the Land Train which is a great way to explore the park and the Great Lake where boat trips can be enjoyed. During school holidays and at weekends in the summer organised activities such as crafting sessions, animal encounters and educational talks are on offer to ensure that the children are well catered for. Other attractions include the Adventure Playground, Nature Trail, Farm Shop and Café.

Creepy Crawlies
If you have children of varied ages and are looking for a day out to please everyone, then Creepy Crawlies is the perfect choice. The all weather attraction offers fun and games for children up to 12 years old and also provides a place for adults to relax and enjoy a coffee while the kids are playing on the slides, sports area and adventure zone. The site also has a very impressive outdoor area and petting zoo where children can enjoy crafts and meet cute and cuddly animals. Outside there is also a pedal track with Berg Go karts for big children and ride on's for little ones, a pond and a sensory zone where children can touch and feel new and interesting things. You can bring along a picnic to enjoy outside or try a freshly cooked meal at the cafe.
York Maze

York Maze is fast becoming one of the regions top tourist attractions during the summertime.  This year the maze has a new design to make it even more fun and interesting.  The maze is carved out of an amazing 1.5 million growing maize plants and is thought to be the largest maze in the world! Of course the maze is the main attraction of the site, but there are plenty of other things for the whole family to enjoy including an adventure playground, 9 hole crazy golf course and a animal petting area where children can meet the animals that eat the maize and watch pig racing! Tractor and trailer rides around the maize are also available.

Rose dale caravan well equipped and very comfortable. We all enjoyed the holiday very much
Our second trip to this site, lovely and quiet and near Castle Howard, everything aboiut it was superb
We had a great 4 nights at this caravan park in March 2018. We took our dog Milo and he enjoyed it too. Although this is situated near a fairly main road the traffic noise was minimal. Our caravan was spotless when we arrived and very comfortable. The tv Aerial was a bit rubbish and the picture and sound would stutter but we soon got used to it and it didn't spoil our stay. Our only suggestion for improvement was from Milo as after the usual muddy walk he used to take us on made him unfit to go straight into the caravan when we came back and we had to clean him with a sponge and bucket, it would have been easier if there was a doggy shower near the toilet blocks so we could hose him down properly.
When I first went to Robin Hood Caravan Park York. I was not sure what to expect I knew what I hoped it would be like my expectations, But I was wrong it exceeded my expectations. I am now going at least once a year. If I can afford it I go twice a year.
We love it here and have been back a few times now. Lovely, peaceful site, helpful owner, and plenty to do in the local area.
Great site spotless caravan and super staff one word brilliant
Very nice clean site and a good family base to stay as only about 50 minutes to the coast.
This is our second stay at Robin Hood, the caravan (pet friendly) was fantastic, had everything we needed and again it was so clean. My only issue was that I forgot towels. But that just meant a trip to Beautiful Helmsley. We will be back as we still haven't managed to see all the places on our trip list. It really is a gem, can not rate it highly enough.
Had a lovely stay at the park The caravan was lovely and very clean It's set in a lovely location Will be going again
Great time had in a lovely Caravan!
With friendly helpful staff, a well equipped clean caravan on a lovely quiet site and lots to see and do in the area we would be very happy to return.
