Elizabeth, Darlington
Date of stay: 1st September 2018
The Lodge was lovely and extremely well equipped. Although it wasnt exactly as spotlessly clean as youd expect, overall it was fine and very comfortable. Loved the range cooker, walk-through dressing area and en-suite. Meant the teenagers could be as messy as they liked and we could stay neat and tidy!
Caroline, Princes Risborough
Date of stay: 18th August 2018

Date of stay: 30th July 2018
We stayed at the park during the first week of the summer holidays. I went with my young child, grandparents & our dog. We had a lovely carvan, boarding on lodge :) roughly the middle of the park. The surroundings were lovely, scenic and fairly quiet, which was what we wanted. The caravan was spacious, modern, clean with everything you would need when away from home.... everything! We were very impressed.
The park was kept very clean and tidy and I often saw staff out and about, cleaning and tending to the grounds and facilities. We did make use of the facilities, as the weather was so good. We used the pool each day, which was big,
With lots of beds, tables & chairs and had plenty of life guards, which was nice to see. My little one loved it. It did get very busy though and there was a colour band system in place. I completely agreed with this approach, which was a fair way of allowing all holiday makers time in the pool. It worked out about 1.5-2hrs which was plenty in the pool, especially in the heat. There was those that completely disregard the system, but it really didn't effect our enjoyment. She also loved the adventure playground, but it was quite small for the volume of children, but she played happily and made friends.
The park is quite big as it also does camping. It was alot bigger than what we have been to before. We found the evening entertainment area very busy, so we only went once, but my little one did enjoyed it. The entertainment team were young and enthusiastic and this shone through. I thought they were great and really engaged the children. It was quite expensive too. They also needed more bar staff for the volume of customers, however despite being run of their feet, they were friendly and polite.
My Mum was also a little disappointed with how the bingo was done and she looks forward to this. It was only 3 games, costing over £10 and was linked up with other parks, with no one at ours winning anything. She didn't think it was good value.
We also went out & about most days exploring Dorset, visiting various tourist spots. This park is a great base for this. Dorset is a lovely place to explore. The fantastic weather helped.
On our final day we thought we would treat ourselves to breakfast. Sadly it was disappointing, very disorganised. The coffee machines had broken down and this seemed to throw the staff. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying at the park.
Dean, Bristol
Date of stay: 6th July 2018
A lovely caravan which whilst not the top end on the park is more than acceptable for a couple or small family.
Kirsty, Hailsham
Date of stay: 9th June 2018
We were right at the end in p19 (I think) there was a load of black wires all around the caravan and outside the door and some were raised and very dangerous for our 2 year old

Barry, Cambridge
Date of stay: 23rd March 2018
Good accommodation but it could have done with more storage space in the kitchen as we found they were already full of utensils, etc so once we bought food for the week there wasn't really anywhere to put it.

We had a few minor issues but they were soon resolved. The only problem we had was the window have no safety catches.
Karen, Weston-super-mare
Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
The caravan was lovely and the beds were incredibly comfortable! The caravans were set a reasonable distance from each other so holidaymakers didn't feel like they were living on top of each other and had a bit of privacy. Only criticism was one of the twin rooms was so small there wasn't even room to walk between the two beds.
Susan, Whitstable

Date of stay: 12th August 2016
This felt very spacious by normal caravan standards. Everything worked. Missing a chopping board, which was provided within minutes. Nice outdoor area.
The extra sleeping is a sofa bed, but the L-shaped sofas worked perfectly as 2 singles as well.
Good shower with decent elbow room.
A few crumbs in a kitchen drawer, otherwise spotless.
Easy parking for 2 cars.
Wish I was there now!
Lindsay, Chesterfield

The caravan we stayed in, was upgraded from the one booked and was well impressed and very grateful for the upgrade. We were well impressed with the accommodation and cleanliness of the caravan, and park.
If I was purchasing a static caravan I would be very tempted to purchase at Sandford, but like mentioned earlier we what to experience other parts of the country.

Date of stay: 3rd June 2016
Towel radiators in c34 need replacing as paint was peeling and a lot of rust showing however did not affect my holiday
Nicola, Coventry
Date of stay: 21st May 2016
Plenty of space in the lodge, however, it could do with a bit of a makeover as it was rather tired looking. There were a few basic repairs that were needed to blinds and cupboards and cutlery and crockery were all mismatched. Light bulbs missing or not workng as well.
Karen, Broxbourne

Carly
Date of stay: 12th October 2015
we were so pleased with the accommodation. It was much more than we expected for the money we paid.
Gillian, Emsworth
Date of stay: 21st September 2015
we really enjoyed our weekend. the weather was good, the caravan was comfortable. we could have done with more cooking utensils as there were eight of us. we also found the oven difficult to light - needed to get on our knees with a lighted match and the door opened to the right so that one had to squeeze between the work unit and the door.
We enjoyed the golf and the go-carts and loved the outdoor swimming pool. weather was so good we did not visit the indoor pool so cannot comment on that. we would have preferred not to have slot machines on the site but realise others liked this. we took the children to the entertainment but it was far too loud and we had to take the children home after a while.
the site was very clean and we thought the dog walking area was excellent.
Jacqueline, Hertford
Date of stay: 14th September 2015

Sandford is one of the best holiday parks we have stayed in. Caravan location was close to club area but yet quiet and relaxing. Will definately stay again.

Can't praise them highly enough. 2nd time at Sandford. Grandchildren loved it and so did we.
While there, we had an emergency when grandson 23 months stopped breathing. Staff responded magnificently; gave first aid, got him breathing again and called ambulance. He is now fit and well and no ill effects remain.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sandford. The studland caravan was very comfortable and clean throughout. Would benefit with a better shower but we managed. The park itself was clean and tidy. Could do with a winter overhaul. Some of the amusements didn't work properly and the chip shop was not as clean as it could be but the food was ok. The restaurant was good but very busy which is not the fault of the staff so the wait for food could be up to 45 minutes but the food itself was very good. We ate there almost every night. The park is close to many beaches with Bournemouth a short drive away. We are already considering booking for next year.

The caravan was spotless. Was cold in the morning but the heating worked really well. Great site for the kids.
Simon, Spalding
Date of stay: 23rd August 2014
Only one disappointment- we were not given the keys to the caravan until 5pm (should have had them by 4pm at the latest). Staff unapologetic and unconcerned. Despite this all the family had a very enjoyable holiday.
Claire, Sutton
Date of stay: 23rd August 2014
Lovely caravan with all the fixtures and fittings needed. Great location. Lovely clean site. Nice clean pool with easy access all day. Great for getting around Dorset. Nice week in a lovely park. Good for families. Entertainment was good.
Richard
Date of stay: 23rd August 2014
A few minor criticisms. Not enough staff, annoying having to queue all the time for food, drink etc. Cheeky charging for swimming pool lockers, should be refundable. Clubhouse not large enough for number of caravans/tent pitches, lots of people like ourselves unable to find seating early in evening should not have to stand up. Finally things like crazy golf, cycles etc should be included in holiday price should not have to pay again for these activities. Overall though very enjoyable stay.
Andrew, Market Rasen

The site was clean and tidy. The caravan was spotless equipment was in very good condition. Staff throughout the camp were polite and helpful. The evening entertainment centre filled up so early that by 7-30 when our daytime activities ended and an evening meal had been was seats available so the entertainment was not tested

The lodge was well fitted out with most needs.
2 mattresses needed replacing but that was done straight away and were so much more comfortable.
Some cleaning needed behind beds but it was otherwise very good.

Really liked this site but felt it had outgrown the facilities. Onsite shop was too small and not very well stocked and have never before experienced a site where you had to queue for pool and were only allowed to stay in for limited time to make way for others.

Our family were very impressed with the site, the facilities and the helpfulness of the staff. The outdoor pool was very clean and I was impressed with the amount of the lifeguards and how professional they were. We could of stopped longer and other families told us the same.
Angela, Gosport
Date of stay: 21st July 2014
We thought the lodge was excellent, it was in a nice quiet area.
Although nothing available to enable bathing for young children who do not like showers. Dishwasher, the plates/cutlery came out just as dirty as they went in after churning away for about 2 hours.
We thought rather expensive for only three nights.
Lawrence, Ramsgate

The park and facilities where excellent and the entertainment was fantastic. Our kids really enjoyed themselves and loved the discos.

Date of stay: 20th June 2014
The caravan was very good. However, the lack of a coffee table was a bit inconvenient. Loved the larger than average bathroom, but a shelf would have been very handy.
Tiffany, Brighton
Date of stay: 16th June 2014
Nice lodge in a lovely quiet area of the park. Good size area and well equipped. Security of the lodge was poor with the front door barely locking. Also the bathroom door jammed on the flooring so had to be banged open and shut. And the window above the bunk bed had no curtain/blind so light came pouring in from early morning and made it difficult for the children to sleep.
Finn, Norfolk
Date of stay: 13th June 2014
Lovely site with lots of trees and grassy areas which we liked - the weather was very hot so the shade was welcome.
We stayed Mon-Fri and although it did seem fairly busy, we found the park very peaceful.
We had a pet-friendly caravan, which was spotlessly clean on arrival and very well - equipped.
Would definitely book again!

although there were a few problems with the new computer system of ordering the meals, we on many occasions got the wrong food, this was soon rectified. But a bad time to install a new system at half term.Any other problems we had was very quickly sorted out. I booked half board on the phone direct with Sandford Park when we arrived this had not been done for us.Luckily we were able to book it there and then but understand that only a certain amount of half board reservations are taken.

Overall we were very pleased with the accommodation. However, the kitchen equipment was very poor quality and lacking in knives and serving dishes. The reception was able to supply a potato peeler, which did help.

A busy park with plenty to do for all ages. Our caravan was close to the main building and from there a short walk out to the bus stops taking us to Poole, Weymouth, Swanage and Wareham. Useful for pensioners and a good way to save money. The site is alive with wildlife and the squirrels are an entertainment in themselves. We were lucky to have blue tits nesting under the caravan in the trailer park and they fledged before we left. Well kept grounds with a shop and restaurant as well as a fish and chip shop, a well kept swimming pool with attentive lifeguards. This site has an excellent reception staffed by really helpful people. This was a second visit and was a follow up to a week in Cornwall. This wooded site may be inland but it is a great place for a holiday.

Pleasant, clean and tidy park, children enjoyed evening discos, swimming pool badly in need of a revamp. Abbotsbury accommodation very clean & perfect for our needs with superb heating for cold spring nights but had some damaged & loose fittings which left sharp exposed screws.

A leak appeared on last day but otherwise a beautiful lodge to stay in.
Stephanie, Truro
Date of stay: 31st March 2014
Good value for money, accommodation lovely just need a couple of dining chairs to make it perfect for a family with little ones. The park was ok, a little tired looking but generally good. Used the playgrounds mainly and the take away once both good but can't comment on the other facilities as we used it mainly as a base. The outside pool looked a bit grimey and the inside pool is quite small and the changing area is lacking. Would visit again for the value for money.
Lorraine, Newport Pagnell
Date of stay: 17th February 2014
had a lovely weekend break at Sandford yet again staff are friendly and helpful, accommodation was of a very good standard and clean.... facilities are good at Sandford it was a bit cold for the outdoor pool as our break was in Feb, and the indoor pool was a little busy, to be expected really. the evening entertainment is good although we would of liked a longer disco session for the adults - don't know about other couples our age but we don't need party dances at our age!!! overall a good break..thanks :)
Stephanie
Absolutely fabulous holiday for young children, the entertainment is everything you could want, the softplay is clean and as an added bonus you can meet the characters at breakfast! You get what you pay for, there were a few hiccups with our caravan but all sorted promptly by friendly staff. If you are looking for a typical british caravan holiday this is the place for it! We had a lovely time overall!
Deborah
Beautiful woodland setting. Caravan was comfortable and warm. Beds better than expected for comfort. Nice upper area is club house if you want things a bit quieter. Plenty for the children to do. Central location.
Kenneth
Excellent site and all the vans situated lovely amongst the trees. I would highly recommend this site.
Vicky
Lovely place to stay though the swimming pool changing rooms needed to kept cleaner

Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
