St Osyth Beach Holiday Village in Clacton on Sea is a lively park with great family entertainment, quality accommodation and an enviable setting close to the beach.  One of the things that stands out about Seawick Holiday Village is the welcoming atmosphere and you will feel right at home from the moment you unpack.

The only problem will be deciding what to do first as St Osyth Beach has many activities for the whole family.  The heated indoor pool is usually high on everyones list of priorities as is heading to the Aztecs entertainment centre to relax after an enjoyable day.  The entertainment centre has 2 clubs with late night cabaret and large screen TV.

The area surrounding St Osyth Beach is well worth exploring as you have some of the best Essex countryside and coastline at your disposal.  Colchester is also an easy drive away with it's museums, castle and famous zoo.

The chalets and caravans at St Osyth Beach are well equipped and have all the mod cons you could need to enjoy your stay.  The St Osyth Bronze Chalets are a good budget option and the St Osyth Silver and Gold caravans are recommended for larger families and those looking for some extra space.  Some of these caravans also come with decking and DVD player.

Fun Days Out in Essex

Colchester Zoo

No visit to Essex is complete without a day at this popular zoo with over 250 species of animals. The enclosures are well maintained and the zoo provides a good habitat for the animals there.  The 60 acres of parkland and lakes are ideal for walking round and we are sure this day out will provide you with lasting enjoyable memories.   Some of the highlights include penguins which you can see swimming at Penguin Shores, and the elephants at Spirit of Africa.  In addition there are over 30 daily shows to attend.

Adventure Island

This attraction is actually free of charge to enter which we think is excellent.  Located on the Southend Seafront there are over 50 rides and attractions to enjoy.  For the very daring there is a 75ft roller coaster with a more than vertical drop- not for the faint hearted!  Other highlights include the Dragon's Claw, Vortex, Scorpion, Ramba Zamba and Sky Drop.  Younger children will also find plenty of more gentle rides and attractions to keep them entertained.

Great Notley Discovery Centre
A day at Great Notley Discovery Centre and Park is a fantastic way to explore the very best of Essex offering many facilities including a sensory trail, visitor centre, bistro and cycle hire centre. There are links to  over 15 miles of walking and cycling paths on the Flitch Way too. Those with young children can rent a trailer or tandem bike to make exploring fun for the whole family.

The caravan was clean but nothing to start the day with. There was not even a tea bag to make some tea. There was no washing up liquid or handwash. There wasn't a night lamp. No bin bag to change. We stay for weekend we can't carry all these. That's all was missing really.

We got a very cheap last minute weekend deal, so some of the drawbacks, such as a mediocre cleanliness and poor tidiness/appearance of the site, can be overlooked. The site pool was very good as was the proximity to the beach. It's a large site and therefore there was some noise disturbance late one night. The caravan was good, although could do with a deeper clean. Overall, for the right price, I would stay again for a short break.

Having read some bad reviews about the Bronze caravans, I was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the caravan. The only thing that would have improved our stay would be better heating in the bedrooms as we were very cold at night.
