The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard. We stayed for two weeks and loved it. The only thing we missed was a fridge freezer as there is just a fridge in the property.

Great week in a lovely lodge.
Karen, Clacton-on-sea
Date of stay: 28th October 2017
The house was beautifully clean and tidy and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Some form of central heating or oil-filled radiators would have added to the overall comfort, as it was very chilly especially in the mornings. We were also conscience of the fact that electricity was charged separately so, although we did not go cold, we were careful not to continually use the electric heaters.

We have been visiting Norfolk for many years since 1973 all though we traveled to other parts of the UK for our annual holidays we started to come back to Norfolk seven years ago and visited Summer Craft Boats to book a cruiser for a weeks holiday. Summer Craft are a superb Cruiser Hire Company not many boats but they are spotlessly clean and everything works on board. We have one week in Summer Haven and one week afloat in one of there cruses which we first started booking in the 1970's, you cannot give a better reference of why we still come back to them.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bungalow very clean and had everything you needed. Used it more as a base as we were out every day on the boat that was provided. Tried to see as much as we could of the broads apart from the trip to Norwich which was great and a day out at the coast. Enjoyed every part of the holiday and would definitely return.

We enjoyed a lovely bank holiday weekend in this lovely property. Right on the river but a peaceful offshoot of it. Spacious property with a lovely lounge and a modern new kitchen. The day launch boat that we had use of was loads of fun. Welcoming and helpful staff. We will definitely return.

Date of stay: 29th October 2016
Sue said it was being updated at the end of the season but to be honest it was in quite good nick. The kitchen is possibly the best we have had in holiday accommodation, loads of cupboards and lacking nothing. Only missed my bed (but that's normal!) large bath ... I could lie full length!

Andrew
Great holiday break. Combination of cottage and boat perfect.
Ian
Wonderful week as always. Friendly staff, spotless bungalow. Enjoy it every year.
Karen
Our day boat was perfect and we used it throughout the week. Only one issue - all the other smaller houses/lodges had a day boat included within the rental price, whereas we had to pay a separate charge. The boats looked similar, so we were puzzled why we had to pay extra?
Don
Lovely location. Accommodation very clean and tidy. Had a great holiday.
Patricia
such a lovely place. Great staff...so helpful and willing.
Colin
Lovely property, so big. Nothing for the kids there but would definitely go again.
Cheryl
we have been staying here for about 8 years now, the welcome is always outstanding and the properties are very homely and comfortable. the day boat is a bonus and is enjoyable in the nice sunshine we have always seemed to be blessed with. great fishing on the doorstep as well as plenty of other things to do including great pubs .
Edward
A nice holiday but noticed it was a lot quieter than previous years. On the day we took the boat out we saw lots of places we could tie up (in past years the expectation was that all places are taken !!).
Carol
Plenty of room for 6 of us and a dog, ages ranged from 7 years to 73. Having the down stairs bedroom/shower room toilet made life better for us oldies.!! Kitchen had everything we needed Thank you.
Pat
This is our second visit and we have booked for next year. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for relaxing.
Jan

Fun Days Out near Summer Leisure

about 1 Mile
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 12 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
about 17 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
about 19 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
about 22 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
about 23 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
about 23 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
about 23 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
about 24 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
about 37 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
