Visitor Reviews of Tummel Valley

We stayed at the lodge recently and overall it was decent. Graham at reception was really friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. The burger on our first day was a letdown-the bun was burnt to a crisp, so we ended up eating out for the rest of the week. Even the barman, Mr Goth, couldn’t quite get a decent cappuccino right. The Wi-Fi was non-existent in the lodge, which was a bit disappointing, but hopefully next time it’s sorted!

We stayed at the lodge and really enjoyed it. Spacious, spotless and cosy-great value especially using Tesco vouchers. It’s pretty simple but ideal with kids; less fuss. The outdoor decking is a lovely touch, maybe some cushions would be nice though!

We had an amazing time at the lodge near Loch Tummel. The views are stunning and it’s so peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The walks with the dog were fantastic. The lodge itself is really well equipped - washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, big fridge and freezer. Definitely worth a visit!

The caravan was pretty decent overall, though we did face some hiccups with the lighting and struggled a bit to get the heating going. We had to bring our own towels, which was a bit of an inconvenience. Outside, it was a tad messy, but hey, it’s expected in a forest area, isn’t it?

Date of stay: 27th September 2024
Honestly, we weren't impressed at all. The lifeguards seemed uninterested and we couldn’t even book a swim for our granddaughter despite the pool being pretty empty. The food was alright, but way overpriced for what you get. Some staff members weren’t very friendly when we asked questions and there wasn’t much for kids to do or keep entertained. The caravan was a real letdown too - needed a proper clean, as the floor was full of dirt and hair. We definitely wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Date of stay: 25th September 2024
Great stay overall, but the lodge could definitely use some upgrades.

Date of stay: 24th September 2024
Honestly, we were really disappointed with this place. The caravan was so close to the main road, it was impossible to relax - constant noise from lorries early in the morning till late evening. During our stay, there was ongoing work on sub-stations across the river, with loud concrete-breaking all day. We asked to be moved but were told the site was full, which was really frustrating. Had to cut our trip short and got no refund or even an apology. Definitely won’t be returning!

The forest trails are quite a trek to reach from the park, needing a drive each time we want to walk the dogs there. Not ideal for quick trips at all.

Date of stay: 28th August 2024
Overall, pretty happy with the work. Just a minor thing about the kitchen lino being under the floor strip-it could have been a tripping hazard, so worth noting.

We loved staying in one of the riverside lodges, the view was stunning and the amenities were great too!

Date of stay: 11th August 2024
We stayed here recently and honestly, the location is stunning, with gorgeous views and a lovely surrounding area. Sadly, the accommodation didn't quite live up to expectations - it needed a proper deep clean and some of the facilities were faulty, like the bedroom TV not working and the main TV being pretty outdated. The cooker was also a bit temperamental. We found it tricky to keep our 16, 13 and 8-year-olds entertained, especially the older one, since it wasn’t really geared towards teens. That said, we’re still keen to come back for a long weekend sometime!

The caravan was nearly perfect, just a shame about the broken glass and snapped remote on arrival.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The caravan was lovely, super clean and perfect for a quiet getaway. Beds were comfy and it had everything we needed.

Really not impressed, food was tough and overdone, drinks were just plain awful, sadly a letdown.

Date of stay: 16th May 2024
Honestly, the prices are way too high for food and drinks. Made a silly mistake with the bingo too, so we won’t bother with Parkdean again.

Mark
Date of stay: 28th April 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed from the start. The patio was gross with dog poo left by previous guests and the windows were filthy from kids’ fingerprints and pet mess. The place looked a bit neglected, like it hadn’t been cared for. On the bright side, the linen and towels were spotless and fresh, so at least that was a plus. We had to do some cleaning ourselves before we could really settle in, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, not what we expected for the price.
Sam
Date of stay: 14th April 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The lodge was really not up to scratch and didn’t improve much even after giving the site a few hours to sort it out. We only stayed one night out of the four booked because it just wasn’t comfortable or worth it. We won’t be returning to Tummel Valley or using Hoseasons again. Their customer support is a bit of a nightmare too-only chat, no real phone help unless you’re on social media. Bit of a pain, really.
Jessica
Date of stay: 3rd April 2024
Honestly, the caravan was pretty barebones-no towels, dish cloths, or tea towels which was a bit of a shock. Most places we've stayed at before at least provide a welcome pack with basics like soap, condiments, or washing up liquid, but not here. It seems their idea is to let guests buy everything on-site, including hiring towels, which felt a bit inconvenient. The staff weren't very helpful when we asked about activities, which was a shame. The food at the chippy was disappointing and the restaurant's meals were only so-so. The park itself is lovely and the surroundings are nice, but the bins were often overflowing with rubbish. I’d visit again, just not at this park.

It would’ve been nicer to have bedside tables in the bedrooms, so we used the small ones in the living room.

Date of stay: 4th March 2024
Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and perfectly located near the main building. Would come again!

Date of stay: 1st November 2023
We stayed at the caravan and found it to be spotless, which was great. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, though the girl we spoke to on the phone about the boiler seemed to forget about our issue. The main problem was the boiler not working when we arrived, so no hot water or heating all Friday night. We called reception at 6.30pm, told it would be sorted, but no one came. We expected it to be fixed Saturday morning, but nothing. Very disappointing!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 1st November 2023
The holiday was lovely overall. The heating was broken at first, but they sorted it out quickly. Great service all round!
Sam
Date of stay: 1st November 2023
We booked a larch caravan mainly because it had a washer and dryer, but sadly, when we got there, the washer was out of order and there was no replacement available. Had to queue up at reception to get money for the laundrette on site, which was a bit of a hassle, definitely not as easy as having one in the caravan. The restaurant on our last night was a bit disappointing too - lots of dishes weren’t available and we were told it was because of low season. However, they knew how many vans were booked on Monday, so it seems lazy not to stock enough food. Honestly, we’re not in a rush to return.
Angela
All the staff go above and beyond to make your holiday fantastic. They work so hard and long hours. Always service with a smile
