Just a ten minute drive from the bustling nightlife and numerous attractions of Blackpool, Willowgrove Leisure Park occupies an idyllic rural setting within easy walking distance of Preesall, a picturesque town on the eastern bank of the estuary of the River Wyre. The accommodation here is modern and well equipped with luxurious lodges and comfortable, modern caravans.

The park is built around a beautiful five acre fishing lake with an island bird sanctuary in the centre. Preesall has three pubs – the Black Bull serves real ales and has an excellent choice of food or you could venture a little further afield to the Gibbon Bridge Restaurant in Preston. There you can enjoy a delicious three course dinner with fantastic views over Longbridge Fells. There is a variety of activities to choose from in the area – you can play golf at Lytham St Anne’s and Silverdale or you could brave the 20 metre climbing tower at Blackpool.

We highly recommend Knotty Lodge because it has delightful views across the fishing lake and offers spacious accommodation for four people. There is one double and one twin bedroom, a good sized open plan lounge and dining area and a well equipped kitchen with microwave and fridge/freezer. The lodge is double glazed and centrally heated and has a gas fire for those chilly evenings.

Lancashire boasts a great choice of cycle routes for all ages and abilities and you could explore Eaves Wood in Silverdale on foot for hours, enjoying spectacular views across Morecambe Bay. If you want to keep the children entertained, Sandcastle Waterpark in Blackpool has 18 slides as well as fun pools, wave machines, snack bars and arcades.

Our Top Tip
"This part of Lancashire has a wealth of peaceful countryside to explore as well as large, lively cities with excellent shopping facilities."

Fun Days Out in Lancashire

Bowland Wild Boar Park

For a day out in the fresh air then pack up a picnic and head for this park in Preston.  The stunning countryside is home to many wild animals and you may catch a glimpse of deers, Wild Boar and Longhorn Cows.  There is a charming cafe on site for drinks and snacks as well as some picnic tables.  On sunny days this place is a real delight.

Happy Mount Park

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink.
