We really enjoyed our stay at Dacre Lakes! The lodge was super cosy and the beds were just perfect for a good sleep. The surroundings are stunning, with plenty of spots to explore nearby. The grounds are kept beautifully, making it a lovely place to relax. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more. Definitely coming back!

Really comfy, but the lodge wasn't what I expected.

The lodge was quite underwhelming, honestly. Furniture and fittings felt cheap and outdated. Cleanliness was lacking both inside and outside on the decking, which was a real let-down. We won’t be coming back.

The lodge had everything we needed and it was well-equipped. We cooked most nights and loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay at this log cabin. It’s super private, thanks to the fencing and we loved the cosy vibe. Definitely coming back!

We loved staying here! The lodge was spotless and beautifully maintained. The hot tub under cover meant we could enjoy it rain or shine. Plenty of parking too and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

The lodge was lovely and we genuinely enjoyed the stunning lake view and watching the birds all day. A couple of small issues- the grill wouldn't stay on and there was some dust in the shower fan. Still, a great stay overall!

The mirrors are great, but finding an electrical socket nearby was a pain. Using my hairdryer or straighteners was tricky. Apart from that, everything else was lovely.

The lodge was a decent size and very clean, which we appreciated. It did get quite chilly at times since we couldn't turn up the heating, so we just wore housecoats. A cosy blanket would’ve been a nice touch, though. The utensils were okay, but a peeler and measuring jug were missing.

Fridge freezer combo, but the freezer is tiny!

The lodge was lovely, really well-kept and inviting from the moment we arrived. The location couldn’t be better and everything was spotless. Honestly, I’ve got nothing bad to say-I’d return in a heartbeat!

We’re big fans of staying in lodges right by the water, so this place was perfect for us. We needed a 2-bedroom, but since the 3-bedroom was the same price, we decided to go for it - the extra space was worth it! The bedrooms were a bit cosy, but the outdoor area more than made up for it, fitting our group of six comfortably. There was a small hiccup with the outside light at the entrance, but it was fixed quickly. We did find a broken wine glass in the back of a cupboard, probably left by a previous guest, which is understandable. Overall, a nice stay!

We stayed in this charming lodge and loved how cosy it was. The new hot tub really made our trip special - it’s great to see all the recent upgrades! We’ll definitely come back.

We've stayed here twice now and honestly, both times the cabins have been quite dirty. The first time was in cabin 8 during summer and just recently in cabin 5 (Lillypad) over Christmas. There were cobwebs everywhere and we even spotted mould on the ceiling and paint peeling off. The mould on the curtains and blinds in the toilets was pretty off-putting too. On the bright side, the kitchens are well stocked and the hot tub is nicely maintained. Check-in was smooth and the staff at reception on checkout was friendly enough, but we couldn't help but feel disappointed with the cleanliness.

Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our holiday experience. The main issue was the view from our lodge - it was nothing like the stunning lake view shown in the photos on the website. The reeds along the lake were so overgrown, about 10 feet high, that we couldn’t see the water at all. It felt like false advertising, especially since we had proof in the photos. The toilet seat was another letdown - it wasn’t secured properly, so it kept slipping, making it impossible for our 3-year-old to use it comfortably. The decking leading out of the tub also caused us trouble; my son and I both fell while trying to get out. It was screwed down, but only the next evening, which honestly wasn’t good enough. These issues really marred what could have been a lovely break. We expected better from the place.

We’ve been visiting the Dacre Lodges for over 20 years now and honestly, they’re always spotless and well-kept. The staff in cleaning and maintenance are genuinely friendly, which makes a difference. However, the reception staff could really do with a bit more warmth-they never seem to recognise us as regular guests. Also, arriving just 20 mins early means no check-in, which feels a bit unfair. Still, we love the place overall!

Decent service overall, though the hot tub could definitely do with a refresh.

We had such a great stay at the Lodge! The 6-bed room was perfect and the peaceful gardens made it really relaxing. The reception and bar areas were warm and inviting and staff couldn't have been nicer. Food in the restaurant was top notch too!

We were really looking forward to fishing, but all the reeds blocked us. The front of the lodges looked promising, but they were all taken. Very disappointed, honestly.

We had a fab holiday. Kids enjoyed the ice cream shop & cafe Prices of activities were really good so we took advantage and especially enjoyed the golf & footgolf. Lovely Italian restaurant on site too - food was gorgeous!
Kerrie
Lovely relaxing holiday with lots to do on site. Friendly staff, the place has a laidback feel about it. Nice little village opposite with 2 pubs a Chinese, chip shop convenience store and newsagents.
Sophie
Fantastic place to stay the staff are lovely. There are many things to do that they offer. I stayed in a shepherds hut it was fantastical. The only tiny downfall is there was nothing in the room to kill the flies or nothing to stop them from coming in and with having the door open and it being warm there was a lot coming in
Bryce
Lovely lodge with a great hot-tub. Nice vibe on the site with beautiful views. The lodge overall wasn’t overly clean, with the veranda covered in cobwebs but as a group we could see past that. Overall great place.
Andy
This was a lovely little place to have a break away. The Shepherd's Hut was lovely and really well appointed. The only gripe we really had was that the panel on the side of the bed was really uncomfortable when getting in and out of bed. The bed itself was lovely and comfortable. One suggestion we made at Reception was that part of the selling point of his break was the hottub (which was fab, by the way), the only issue was accessibility insofar as that the entrance steps to get into the hot tub were no good for my fiancee who had a knee replacement about six months ago, so sadly she couldn't use it which was a real shame. Perhaps some sort of steps and handrail up to the side of the hot tub could be adapted. Other than that we would definitely go back, but probably opt for a lodge next time.
Lorraine
Great week at dacre. Lodge was spotless inside & hot tub checked daily. Facilities on site were really good aswell. Great location close to beaches & local towns.
Michael
This place is amazing by far the best place we have stayed. Very peaceful, we went early July before the kids finished school. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of ducks that greet you when you open your cabin door, and lots of rabbits too. Lovely restaurant, bar and adventure golf. We had 3 lovely days kayaking on the lake from our own jetty which is something we have been searching for for ages. Already booked for next year along with my son and his girlfriend. Would highly recommend well worth the money.
Jennifer
Park was very pleasant, though sitting on veranda was spoilt by noise from nearby main road. Lodge was very comfortable but in need of updating. However a very enjoyable week enhanced by good weather.
