Caravan and site were beautiful and we were able to check in an hour early.Caravan was very clean and spacious, I had requested a travel cot but that had been put in the wrong caravan, but easily sorted. 9am checkout time was pretty early considering we had to walk to the opposite end of the site to separate recycling and throw out rubbish.Our holiday was 5* but I think the information on the website needs updating. The nearby park and ride is completely abandoned and overgrown, it has been closed for a long time so should be removed from the website. We did get the number 10 bus into Chester though and this was nice and easy, running every 30 minutes.The website could be clearer about what it is provided: x1 tea towel, x1 bathmat, x1 sponge and washing up liquid is provided but NOT towels. Definitely bring your own towels, ovenglove and some kitchen tongs for cooking sausage and bacon etc.Wifi has very poor signal but not really an issue for us. We didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment. There is no shop or anything on site, but the industrial park which has lidl/asda and lots of other shops and fast food is nearby in the car

Absolutely beautiful site, we have been before around 8 years ago so didnt hesitate to return and pleased to say its exactly the same high standards as before. Caravan was lovely, spotlessly clean and everything seemed very new. The site is quiet, no clubhouse etc but very close to Chester centre and the wales border- we visited both and highly recommended! Thankyou for a lovely week

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still feeling totally private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely and make you feel really welcome. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn't want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth checking out. Wed definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely time staying here! Sharon and Robert really made us feel at home, which was great. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and felt safe for our dog Archie. The location was perfect for exploring Thaxted and the nearby villages - loads of nice walks. Honestly, we left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Fir trees was a beautiful place to stay. It was peaceful, people on the site were friendly, location was great and we really enjoyed our stay, we did not want to come home.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom caravan, which was plenty big enough for the 3 of us. It was clean and easy to access. We had plenty of shops just 2minutes drive down the road (Asda, Tesco and take aways) and it was just a 5/10minute drive in to Chester itself.
I can't fault our stay at all, it was just what we needed.

Amazing place to stay, so close to Chester. We visited Chester zoo which was only 10 mins away. Shops are 2 mins away it’s a great place for location. Clean modern caravan, lovely site with friendly people.

Just back from a fabulous stay at Fir Trees. Lovely peaceful site and well equipped, spotlessly clean caravan with tree sheltered veranda which was welcomed in the recent heatwave! Located just over 2 miles walk from Chester City centre we used as a base to drive to Wales and to get train to Liverpool and Manchester for day trips. Taxi is around £8 to train station from the site.

Lovely quite site…very well keep…but only 5 mins away from a retail park with lots of shops to choose from should you need them, also if it’s walking you like you have the river Dee just down the lane took us 50mins to walk into Chester
