Honestly, our stay was a bit of a mixed bag. The parking situation was pretty tight-only space for one car, which was a bit of a hassle. The hot tub was a bit of a let-down; it’s just behind a 6 ft fence panel, so not very private and there were no instructions about how to use it. Plus, on our last night, it was freezing and we had no idea why. The lodge itself was pretty basic, nothing fancy-no full-length mirrors or lamps and the main lights were way too harsh, so we had to turn on the cooker hood just to see. The sofas were tiny, definitely meant for two people, not six. We also had to pay a £500 security deposit and honestly, that was never mentioned anywhere prior to booking, which was a bit of a shock. It took 12 days for the money to come back, which is just unacceptable. We just wanted a relaxing getaway, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for us.

The place was lovely, with stunning views that made relaxing so easy. We really enjoyed our time and can’t wait to return! Just a couple of things-internet was slow and hand-wash at sinks could be better.

Honestly, our stay was a bit of a mixed bag. Parking was tight - only space for one car, which was a bit awkward. The hot tub is just behind a flimsy fence, only about 6 feet high and there were no clear instructions on how to use it. On our last evening, it suddenly went cold and no one knew why. The lodge itself felt quite basic - no full-length mirrors or extra lamps and the main lights were harsh, so we had to turn on the cooker hood just to get some softer lighting. When we arrived, we were hit with a £500 security deposit request, but nowhere was this mentioned beforehand, so we were caught off guard. It took over a week to get the money back, which is pretty poor. We were hoping for a little bit of luxury, but it just didn’t quite hit the mark for us three ladies looking for a relaxing getaway.

We stayed at Rutl and Lodge expecting a luxury experience, but it fell a bit short. Parking’s tight with space for just one car and the WiFi in unit 9 is pretty poor. The hot tub’s location feels a bit random, like an afterthought really.

This place is fantastic for a relaxing getaway. We loved how peaceful it was and it’s so handy for Leicester and Market Harborough. Rockingham Castle is definitely worth seeing too!

We had a lovely stay at the lodge, it was spotless and really modern. Everything was just perfect. The only thing we’d suggest is adding steps for easier hot tub access - it’d make things even better!

We had a lovely stay at the lodge! The decor was really charming and it had everything we needed for a comfortable break. The hot tub was definitely the highlight-absolutely gorgeous! One thing we thought would make it even better is some fairy lights around the hot tub area, just to add a bit of cosy charm. Also, as someone else mentioned, a step up into the tub would be really handy, especially in the evenings when it’s quite dark outside. We also found that adding a lamp in the main living space would create a more inviting atmosphere at night, but honestly, we just grabbed one from the bedroom to make things cosier. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for more, everything was spot on for us!

We had a really lovely weekend at Medbourne Edge. The place was spotless and spacious, with all the amenities we needed. It’s a peaceful spot with stunning scenery, perfect for relaxing after busy weeks. Simon, the manager, was super friendly and welcoming. The hot tub was a highlight, though an outside light would be handy for evenings. We’ll definitely come back!

The place itself is spotless, warm and super cosy, with a great shower and comfy beds. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus and we enjoyed peaceful walks through the fields to Thaxted, with its pretty half-timbered houses and windmill. Definitely a place we’d return to!
