We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage! The place was spotless and well stocked, making everything super easy. Loved the dog-friendly walks right outside and meeting Penelope the pig was a real highlight. The host was so friendly and quick to respond. Definitely coming back - it’s great value and just what we needed!

We just got back from a fantastic week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had everything we could think of, super well equipped. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Despite being on a working farm, it’s such a peaceful spot - really loved it!

We just got back from a four-night stay at this charming cottage and honestly, it was lovely. The owners are really friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive, which was perfect. The big fenced garden was great for our dog to run around safely. The place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and a BBQ for one evening. Oh and the hot tub was fantastic! We’re already planning to come back and have recommended it to friends. Thanks for a wonderful break!

We spent a week here in July with our two little dachshunds and honestly, it was such a lovely stay. The village of Thaxted is charming and our dogs loved making new friends around the area. The cottage itself is really cosy and the hot tub was a real treat-perfect for those hot days when the water cooled down just right. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome, even taking their horses out to the fields each day. Watching the planes land from near the house was pretty cool too. Would definitely recommend!

We really appreciated the warm welcome from Rob, Sharon and Bonnie when we arrived. They’ve done a lovely job converting this historic building with so much care. Goddard's Mead offers everything you need for a peaceful stay - super comfy and well-equipped. The location’s perfect too, right in a lovely part of Essex. We’d definitely suggest taking some time to explore Thaxted and nearby villages; the history and architecture are well worth it. Definitely a place we’d return to!

We spent a week here with our two mini dachshunds and really enjoyed our stay. The village of Thaxted is charming and our dogs loved making new friends around town. The cottage itself is lovely, especially the hot tub-perfect for unwinding after a day out and it was a relief that the water was cool thanks to the heatwave! The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome; it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields every day. Also, watching the planes land near Stansted from the property was quite a treat. Would definitely recommend!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and honestly, it’s a lovely place. Rob and Sharon have put a lot of effort into transforming this historic building with care. They were so welcoming when we arrived and Bonnie was adorable. The location is perfect for exploring Essex - we enjoyed wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages, soaking up the history and charming architecture. It’s a peaceful spot for a relaxing break, really worth recommending!

We stayed here recently and honestly, it’s perfect for some downtime. The hot tub was a real highlight and the place itself feels really welcoming. If peace and quiet’s what you need, this is spot on. Well done!

Absolutely love these lodges! The scenery truly is breathtaking too.

Date of stay: 20th February 2025
We recently stayed at this place and honestly, we had a mostly good experience. When we booked, we didn’t realise it was a br and new site still in setup mode, so some things were missing that you’d expect from a 5-star place. There were a few essentials like towels and slippers that weren’t provided and the WiFi was a bit patchy. It’s a shame because the site itself is absolutely stunning and we’d definitely return. Our suggestions for improvement include adding towel robes for the hot tub, providing some basic essentials like milk and bread in a welcome pack and including tourist leaflets in the folder. A DVD player would be a nice touch too. Overall though, well done on what you’ve achieved so far - we’re looking forward to seeing how it develops. We’ll be back!

We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and it really exceeded our expectations. The owners were so welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The place itself is adorable, with a charming traditional look and a very comfy bed. The shower was powerful and the heating kept everything cosy. Parking right next to the cottage was a big plus and the location is perfect for exploring the lovely village of Thaxted and the surrounding fields. We’d definitely come back!

We had a lovely time exploring the fields with our dogs, it’s a perfect spot for walks.
Alex, Glasgow
Date of stay: 3rd February 2025
We recently stayed at the Huntly and honestly, it’s probably the best lodge we’ve come across. The open-plan kitchen and living area with the electric fire and huge TV make it feel really homely. The bed was super comfy and the shower exceeded our expectations - way better than we thought it would be. Everything like gas and electricity is included in the price, which is a real bonus. The hot tub stays warm constantly, even when you're not in it, which was lovely. Parking was plentiful and the decking looked out onto some absolutely stunning views, perfect for relaxing. The only thing we’d say is that the lodge could do with a few more amenities like fairy liquid and hand soap, so it’s worth bringing your own essentials like washing-up liquid, shower gel, tea bags, coffee, sugar etc. Also, there’s gravel between the lodge and hot tub, so we’d recommend bringing some sliders or slippers for comfort. Overall, we had a really relaxing stay, the lodge was spotless and felt br and new - we honestly felt like we were the first to use it. Definitely a place we’d return to. Would highly recommend!

We had a really lovely time at this cottage, tucked away on a working farm but surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such charming people - they made us feel really welcome. The place itself is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to leave. The garden’s perfect for dogs, completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s got some great restaurants - The Star and The Maypole being our favourites. We definitely recommend it!

Date of stay: 15th January 2025
We had such a lovely stay here! The owners are genuinely warm and thoughtful, making us feel right at home. The cottage itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and the shower is surprisingly powerful. We loved the cosy kitchen and living space - perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Parking right next door was a real bonus. It’s super clean, well heated and great for walks to Thaxted and nearby villages. Definitely recommend!
Karen
We had a lovely stay in a beautiful lodge overlooking stunning countryside. At this time, the park is smaller and quieter which was perfect for us, however there are plans to extend the park and include a restaurant. I would certainly recommend this place fir a quiet retreat.
Derek
Lovely place enjoyed every minute there
Alfred
Royal Arch Park is a very young site and is still in the development stage but what a fantastic site it is going to be once done. we had a fantastic week there and loved every minuet of our stay cant wait to go back.

This holiday park is so peaceful if u want a quiet and relaxing holiday. Loved it there.
Douglas
Had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful stay with uninterrupted views across the countryside from the hot tub and decking. Caravan is very new, well equipped and clean.
June
Lovely clean cabin. Great base to travel around the area. Quiet and peaceful. Cabin had everything you could need for cooking or the local Ramsey Arms food is amazing if you don't want to cook.
Carl
A nice quiet location with places to visit, Grampian Mountains are close by, exactly what we were looking for.
John
Excellent weekend break with the family, would highly recommend.
Fiona
What a great find! Beautiful park in a gorgeous location. Quiet and relaxing. Lodge was spotlessly clean..and I mean spotless! Hot tub was fantastic! Will definitely be back and the plans they have for a restaurant/shops etc looks amazing!! Beds were so comfy! My only critique would have been 1 rooms bedding, purely the aesthetic side, didn't match and looked a little out of place/wrinkly but did not make a difference to our holiday at all. A few little wallpaper tears under Windows but again, purely aesthetic. We can't wait to go back!
Sarah
Fab holiday nice just to chill out
Graham
The holiday park is not yet finished but it was lovely and peaceful surrounded by fields
Kenneth
A great escape away from it all.
Sophie
Great wee caravan for a get away with family or friends! Really spacious and has all amenties. 20 minutes to stonehaven so we visited dunnoter castle and then we also went to st cyrus, if you are looking for a chilled weekend then this is the perfect place. In the middle of the country side so not a lot to do! But still really enjoyed our stay :)
