It was a beautiful place to stay. We had a wonderfully relaxing time. The Mandarin Lodge (Plus) was superb, spacious and clean - with a great hot tub. There's an all-in-one building, as you enter the grounds, which has the reception, cafe/restaurant and mini shop in it - and I would highly recommend having a pizza, it was scrumptious. We wouldn't hesitate to stop here again!

Really beautiful interior and comfy sofa / beds. This is one of the smaller lodges available but my children had plenty of space to play with toys and enjoy themselves.

Fantastic lodge, paying for the WiFi meant we got great service so when streaming there was not the usual buffering we have had previously at other places. Hot tub was nicely placed to give privacy. Lovely and big too.

Our lodge was comfortable for us as a couple but we feel it was a tad small had there been four of us. Everything we needed was provided for a self catering break and the hot tub was brilliant for us to relax at the end of each busy day. The staff were really helpful with anything we asked and we were left alone to enjoy our restful mini-break.

This is the second time we have visited Ashley pool lodges, this time we stayed in the Kingfisher VIP pet lodge. There was 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms which were a great size. The open plan living/dining room and kitchen enables everyone to be together.It had a massive hot tub which was nice and hot and was great to be in and star gaze! We're hired a bba which was great as it was made from an old washing machine drum which we loved. We went to the pizzeria and wow their pizzas are so tasty! Lovely walks just outside the entrance and was so close to Ludlow for a day out. Can't wait to go again for our Third visit

Lovely lodge. Has everything you need.

The surrounding area is beautiful and full of wild life. The Lodge was clean and well supplied with kitchen equipment. The Cafe/Pizzeria is a 100% must try with probably the best milkshakes i've ever had. Everything is decently priced and not over priced.There is a shop part of the cafe also with any supplies you might have forgotten to bring!On a whole it was a great little break away and hopefully will be back again

Cleaning was great. Obviously it is one of the older lodges and we found it quite small in the kitchen but have booked a larger lodge and more modern for the next visit, but have no real complaints about the mandarin.

Lovely spacious lodge. Hot tub was brilliant. Site seemed very peaceful and quiet despite going in school holidays. Cute play area for younger children and we all loved the swingball when we stumbled across it near the dog exercise pen!

The lodge was spotless, beautiful furniture and lights, very comfortable. Enormous walk in shower.

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful spot. Sharon and Robert really go above and beyond to make sure everything’s just right. Even on our second visit, we felt right at home. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, nestled on a working farm but still very private. Robert and Sharon are such friendly hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs and nicely secluded, with plenty of walks nearby. Thaxted’s restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, were great. Overall, we’d definitely recommend it!

We needed a proper dog walking escape and this place delivered. Lovely countryside with plenty of off-road trails, great pubs nearby and top-notch accommodation. The dog was loving it, didn’t want to leave at all!

Really enjoyed our stay! The bed was super comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Big TV too!

We had such a lovely stay at this place! The setting is really beautiful and super private, which we loved. The owners are genuinely friendly and always happy to help if needed, but they respect your space. The hot tub was a real highlight after cycling all day. Only thing to note is that the cottage is right under the flight path at Stansted, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, just keep that in mind. Overall, a great spot!

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners were so friendly and accommodating, really making us feel welcome. The place itself is beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and warm enough even on cooler days. The shower is excellent and the cosy kitchen and living space made relaxing after long walks. Parking right outside was a real bonus. Perfect spot for exploring Thaxted and its pretty countryside. Definitely recommend!

We had an amazing weekend! The lodge was super cosy and spotless and the on-site facilities were top-notch. All the staff were friendly and really helpful too.

Only one criticism, someone checks the Jacuzzis everyday at random times, just walks in unannounced so no privacy.

Lovely clean and tidy site. Ideal base to explore Shropshire and North Wales. Shop didn't seem as well stocked as our previous stay here. Decent staff on hand during the day.

Paradise! Really lovely place for a peaceful and quiet break with great helpful friendly staff. Really enjoyed the fishing too, and the breakfast in the cafe was spot on! Will be back for sure.

Lovely lodge. Peaceful and dog friendly. Plenty space in lodge. Only small note would be better outdoor seating. We had bench and table. Chairs would hv been more convenient for enjoying the Lovely sunshine we had.

Beautiful park with very peaceful surroundings. It is a little disappointing that the cafe/bar doesn’t stay open in the evenings as it would have been really nice to stop by for a drink after dinner. The lodge was comfortable and exceptionally clean. The hot tub was wonderful. Overall an excellent break, we will definitely return.
