We had a fantastic stay at Fell End! The house was really clean, super comfy and just lovely overall. We ran into a bit of a hiccup with a medical emergency for our eldest before leaving, but the staff couldn’t have been more understanding or helpful in adjusting our plans. The kids absolutely loved the amusements at the bar and restaurant, which kept them entertained. The location is perfect for exploring the stunning Lake District and coming back to a warm, cosy house at night was just what we needed. We’d definitely recommend this place to others. Thanks for a great holiday!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The place felt much cosier than the photos suggested, especially the kitchen, which had everything we needed. The pool was perfect for the kids, nice and deep and they loved it. Only minor gripe was the pool closing early on one day, but overall, the staff were super friendly and we’d definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us with everything. The cottage itself is adorable-lovely half-timbered style, super clean and warm enough even in cooler weather. The shower was surprisingly powerful, which was a nice bonus. Parking right next to the property made things so easy. We enjoyed peaceful walks in the fields and exploring Thaxted’s charming village with its windmill and old houses. Would definitely come back!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and genuinely enjoyed our time there. The owners, Rob & Sharon, have done an amazing job restoring this historic building with a lot of care. They made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived and Bonnie was lovely too. The place has everything you need for a chilled-out stay. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring Essex-definitely worth wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages to soak up the history and charm.

We stayed at this place during a rainy December and honestly, it was perfect. The house is super well equipped and felt really cosy and warm, which was a relief. The bath was fantastic and the shower is big enough to unwind in. The location is great too, especially for dogs scared of fireworks; being in the middle of nowhere really helped. Thanks a lot for a lovely stay!

We had such a lovely weekend here! The place really ticked all the boxes for us and we’re already planning our next visit. The garden was perfect for our pups and they couldn’t get enough of the underfloor heating. Luna especially was wagging her tail constantly - she even came home with a strained tail, lol! Happy pups, happy us!
