Not what we hoped for, sadly didn’t suit us.

We had such a lovely time at this cosy cottage. It’s perfectly tucked away for peace and quiet but still close enough to enjoy local shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating kept everything super comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was really cosy and well kitted out, perfect for chilly December days. The bath was great and the shower was a lovely bonus. Even though it’s near a flight path, it didn’t bother us at all - honestly, you barely notice. Ideal spot for dog owners, especially if fireworks scare them. Beautifully converted, really peaceful. We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely warm and thoughtful, making everything feel so welcoming. The cottage itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and the shower was surprisingly powerful-perfect after a long walk. Speaking of walks, the fields around are perfect for exploring and it’s a quick trip to Thaxted with its beautiful timbered houses and windmill. The parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus too. Spotlessly clean, well heated and super cosy overall.

Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into transforming this old building with care and they’re genuinely lovely hosts-plus Bonnie’s a sweetheart! The place has a cosy, welcoming vibe, perfect for relaxing. It’s situated in a lovely bit of Essex, so we’d definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the nearby villages; there’s so much history and charming architecture to enjoy. We felt right at home and will be coming back for sure!

One thing to note, the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of noise from the planes. It didn’t bother us too much after a while, but it’s worth mentioning if you're sensitive to sound. Overall, we’d definitely come back!

The location is perfect for exploring Essex’s charming villages like Thaxted, full of interesting history and lovely sights. It’s a peaceful spot, ideal for relaxing and soaking up the local atmosphere. Highly recomended!

We had such a lovely stay in this peaceful spot, tucked away in a really private bit of the countryside. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if we needed anything, but they kept a respectful distance which we appreciated. The hot tub was a real treat after long cycling days! One thing to note, the cottage is just under Stansted’s flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be a problem if you're sensitive to noise. All in all, a great place to relax!
