Fantastic converted barn. Good quality fixtures and fittings. Lovely hot tub. Beds were comfortableWe had a lovely stay and will look to return However some finishing touches, missed repairs and some additions would really make this place perfect.

The holiday home was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The hot tub was lovely and we enjoyed the sauna just outside the barns too. If I could offer any suggestions it would be that TVs would be nice in all the bedrooms rather than just having the fixings on the wall and somewhere to hang towels by the showers would be convenient. The fishing was great. The gentleman on reception was really helpful with local information. We loved the donkeys too

We had such a lovely stay at the cottage! The location is perfect-peaceful, quiet and surrounded by stunning farml and. We enjoyed seeing the horses and appreciated how friendly and helpful the owners were. Its ideal for anyone needing a relaxing getaway. Wed definitely go back again!

Really enjoyed our stay: a quiet site, very clean and great facilities. Loved the hot tub, pool table, extra fridge and en-suites for each couple. Outside space was great for playing games. The sauna is also an added bonus, as are the donkeys. Having a hot tub to hold 6 was great as weve had lodges before that have only held 4. That being said, the sofas did not comfortably fit 6, only 4! The main flaw though is a lack of drying facilities, towel rails need to be fitted at the very least. Also no hair dryer and limited glasses.

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead. The cottage had everything we needed and was super cosy. The walks right outside were lovely. The hosts were genuinely warm and friendly too. Would definitely come back!

The cottage was lovely, really well situated in such a peaceful spot. The farm surroundings were gorgeous - we even got to see some horses. The owners were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Its a perfect place if you want a quiet, relaxing break. Wed definitely go back!

We had a fantastic time at this lovely cottage! The place is super well-kept and fully equipped, making it feel really homely. Loved the easy access to dog walks right outside and the host was so friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially curious Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. Definitely coming back-great value and highly recommended!

We stayed in a lovely, well-equipped house that was so cosy, especially on that rainy December day! The bath was perfect and the shower was surprisingly spacious. Even though it's near a flight path, we barely noticed any noise, so dont let that put you off. Its a great spot for dogs who dislike fireworks since its pretty remote. Thanks a lot, you!

We really enjoyed staying here. The peaceful countryside surroundings were just what we needed. The courtyard was lovely and the hot tub made it feel extra special. Perfect for relaxing walks too!

Weve just come back from our second visit and already booked for next February! The place is perfect for winter family get-togethers. The big living area, pool table and hot tub mean we get plenty of fun indoors, especially when its chilly outside. The bedrooms and en-suites are spacious and give everyone a bit of privacy, which is really nice. The only tiny issues we noticed were a bit of a lack of storage in the bedrooms, no hooks in the bathroom and a limited selection of glasses. Honestly, these are small things that would make a big difference-like unpacking our bags and hanging towels instead of draping them over doors. Its such a minor thing, but it really would improve the stay. Thanks for another lovely break! Fingers crossed we can finally unpack properly next time!

We really loved the house and the decor is stunning. Just a few things: the glass table tops are a bit risky with kids around, as they could be pushed off easily. Also, more plates would help and the absence of a colander for veg or pasta was a bit annoying. The bottle opener was broken, too. No plastic cups for the hot tub either, only glass-wouldve been safer. But overall, a lovely stay!

We needed a quick getaway for the dog and this place was just perfect. Lovely comfy accommodation, plenty of countryside for walks and local pubs nearby. The dog loved it so much, didnt want to leave!

We had a fantastic stay at The Meal House! The place was spotless and surprisingly roomy for just the two of us. Its decorated beautifully, with every little detail carefully considered - from dishwasher tablets to coffee pods and milk, which was a lovely touch since we usually bring our own. The hot tub was pristine and private, with stunning views and clear night skies that really made the trip special. Definitely somewhere wed return to!

We had a lovely time at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon put so much effort into restoring this historic building and it really shows. They couldn't have been more welcoming and Bonnie was adorable too! The place has everything you need for a chilled stay. The locations perfect - right in the heart of Essex and wed definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the nearby villages to soak up some of the local history. Definitely worth a visit!

We loved the cottage! Its nicely tucked away, so super peaceful but still close enough to shops and local spots. The hot tub was a highlight and the underfloor heating kept everything cosy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel really welcome. Cant wait to return!

Absolutely stunning place only down full was didn't like the staff coming in the garden with out knocking or asking knowing my children were in there half clothed as just got out of hit tub and the mattresses could do with being replaced as they dip in the middle apart from that fabulous place and location

Home Farm Park is far enough away from the noise but close enough if you want to be in the crowds. Ingoldmells and Skegness only short drives away. We had a fantastic stay! Sage Cottage was more equipped than we had imagined, having everything we could possibly have needed for a week away. Entry to the park and cottage was straight forward and all details given in enough time. The cottage was spotless on arrival. The hot tub was perfect and checked on every day, even if we weren't in. Having the pool table was a real treat, keeping us entertained for hours! The staff were quick to deal with any issues, and always polite and friendly, even providing additional towels we requested towards the end of the week. They advised additional facilities including a small shop and reception type area are currently being built, and more lodges are to be added, which we look forward to.
We have already booked Sage Cottage for next year!

Meal house is absolutely stunning very well maintained. Very close to all amenities we will definitely be going back later in the year

Beautiful setting the barn was perfect I would highly recommend if you are looking for peace and tranquillity.

The barns were perfect for a family holiday. The pool table and hot tub kept our teenagers entertained. The bedrooms were lovely and everyone having their own en suite made life easier for getting out and about in the mornings. The hot tub being on a private first floor balcony was also perfect and the view was great. Would highly recommend

The most stunning accommodation in a great location. Really clean, tidy and homely and the hot tub was the best we’d ever used! Love the fact it was checked every day. I’d highly recommend staying here and in the other accommodations on the farm.

Fantastic stay here and hope to return soon. 8 of us staying and plenty of space for all. One thing that let's it down only mirrors are located in the bathrooms. A mirror in the bedrooms would make getting ready and drying hair so much easier.

On arrival the check in process was easy, plenty of parking and easily found. The park was quiet and fishing was good. The barn itself was spacious and the pool table was a good addition. The downsides you could hear alot of noise from next door and due to this one of the party slept downstairs on the sofa. Although the barn was clean the extractor fan above the hob was covered in bugs in fact was black with bugs and needed to be cleaned and the hot tub was absolutely filthy and we felt that it had not been emptied and there wasn't chlorine in it on the first night but clean on the second day. With reference to the hot tub yes it was checked most days however due to its position ie only could be checked by access through the property it felt that you were being imposed on. The property does need a bit of tlc and would benefit from some drawers to put your clothes in and clothes hooks in bathroom. I would recommend the park however I would choose one of the other properties for example the farm house without close neighbours.

We had a fabulous time, when we arrived the place was beautifully laid out and cleaned. The hot tub was hot and ready to use. The addition of tea, coffee, milk and the plum bread with butter was a lovely touch. The only things we would recommend would be additional hangers in the bedroom as there was not enough for both of us so we ended up living out of suitcases for the week. And more fire wood as we had to purchase some after the first night and were advised there was no where on site we could grab anymore. The sofa was comfy but you couldn’t put your feet up anywhere and cuddle in, in front of the fire. Netflix was a great touch, as was the automatic windows and blinds. Overall, we had a great stay and are looking to book again later in the year :) thank you!!
