Colchester Zoo has been open since 1963 and is home to many rare and endangered species, including big cats, primates, birds, invertebrates and fish. The animals are arranged in themed zones, so you move from one habitat to the next as you explore.
Tip: Arrive close to opening, and book e-tickets online at least 24 hours ahead to get the cheaper rate. If you arrive after midday, visit Kingdom of the Wild and Elephant Kingdom first, as they close an hour early.

Gainsborough's House is the birthplace of the English painter Thomas Gainsborough, in the Suffolk town of Sudbury. It is now a museum and gallery in a Grade I listed building, parts of which date back to around 1500. It is described as the National Centre for Gainsborough, with a large collection of his oil paintings, works on paper and artefacts on permanent display.

A coastal fort at Felixstowe with centuries of military history and views over the Port of Felixstowe.
Landguard Fort guards the approach to Harwich Harbour, and it was the site of the last opposed seaborne invasion of England, when the Dutch landed in 1667 and were repulsed by the Royal Marines. The current fort dates from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th, with further batteries added in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was manned through both World Wars.
Tip: Book tickets in advance on the Landguard Fort Trust website, though you can also buy them on arrival.

Helmingham Hall is a moated manor house in Suffolk, begun by John Tollemache in 1480 and owned by the Tollemache family ever since. The house itself is not open to the public, but you can admire it from the grounds, with its 60-foot-wide moat and two working drawbridges that have been pulled up every night since 1510.

Went holiday , end up had 3 gold plus pet friendly , the plan smell of dog wee , they offer us 2 bed caravan disabled place which it smaller . They different offer some refunded or help . The plan is so boring for the kids . It far from everything . U need a car for his place . Swimming pool is small . Outside pool closed Disappointed. Wont go there again
Was a really good caravan could have done with being a little cleaner, still had poo round the toilet and the oven trays were minging!.

Great hoilday destination, need a little attention to details
Having stayed at Seawick Holiday Park on several occasions throughout the years. Since 1980, there has been some improvements to the Holiday Park. One of which is the ease of access to all caravans. The Holiday Park consists of a prefabricated amusement arcade and a club house. There is no cafe or restaurant bar on site. There is a small shop selling several items at reasonable prices. A small children's area near the amusement arcade. A rock climbing wall, which I have never seen being used. Main reception which is house within the amusement, club house building. Staff are polite and friendly, if you're looking for an action packed holiday. Then this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a reasonable priced holiday for your family. Then this may well tick your box. I have stayed a many caravan parks throughout the years. As being an owner of my own van. I know what most sites have to offer. The one thing I can say is that the holiday park. Is well situated for travelling out and exploring various local attractions. With Clacton-on-Sea within a 12 minute drive.

The caravan was spotless and well-maintained, just like any other I've stayed in before.
We stayed there recently and honestly, the sofa bed mattress was a mess-pieces everywhere. The extra space was a real plus and the second toilet came in super handy. Though, we noticed some dust and sticky sides, so it wasnt perfectly clean.
We had a really lovely time! The kids stayed busy with lots to do and the van was perfect for us all to relax in.

The place was a bit loud since its in the main clubhouse and our granddaughter was more into the surroundings than her food. Still, its a nice spot, just a bit noisy sometimes. We enjoyed it though!
Very welcoming place
We recently stayed in a pet-friendly three-bedroom Gold Plus caravan and honestly, it was spot on. Super clean and you'd never guess it was designated for pets. A few hooks for coats and towels wouldve been handy, but overall, it was lovely. The swimming facilities are fantastic-huge indoor and outdoor pools, plus a waterslide which the kids loved. The location is perfect, just 10-15 minutes drive to Clacton. So much we enjoyed it so much we booked two extra nights on the spot. Definitely planning to return!

The caravan was really spacious and spotless, which we appreciated. The only thing was the layout-having the toilet in the living space wasnt ideal at all.
