Salterns Village - Reviews

We had a lovely, relaxing stay! The isl and has so much to offer, but a week isn’t enough to see it all. We specifically wanted to visit Osborne House, but only the gardens were open, which was a real letdown. Still, everything else was pretty nice and we really enjoyed Monkey Haven too.

The cottage was okay, quite tidy but clearly showing some wear and tear. It could do with a proper clean. The decking’s pretty slippy when wet, so folks who aren’t steady on their feet should be careful-especially in rainy weather. Not perfect, but decent enough!

We had a fantastic time in this stunning place! If we visit the Isle of Wight again, staying here is a no-brainer.

The cottage was lovely, with stunning views and a gorgeous beach nearby. Only issue was the lack of a play area for the kids, especially without a car. Still, we loved it!

The place has been nicely refurbished, feels cosy but still spacious enough for us and the dogs. The outside terrace is a real bonus, quite big really!

We spent the May bank holiday at Salterns 4 cottages with a big group, including kids and honestly, it was lovely. The cottages are spotlessly clean, well equipped and super comfy. The peaceful setting was just what we needed and being close to both sandy and pebble beaches was a big hit with the kids. Plus, there are a couple of great pubs nearby for easy evenings out. We’d definitely come back - it’s a real gem!

The isl and was beautiful and perfect for a relaxing break, though we wish we’d had more time to explore everything. Sadly, Osborne House was only open to the gardens, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, we really enjoyed the Monkey Haven and the overall vibe of the place!
Emma, Rutland
Overall, we found the cottage to be decent and tidy, though it’s clear it’s seen better days and could do with a thorough clean. The decking was very slippery when wet, so we’d advise caution, especially for anyone a bit unsteady on their feet. Not bad, but could be improved!
Emma, Grays
Really enjoyed our stay, such a charming and comfortable little cottage, felt like home.

Seaview was lovely, super clean and peaceful. Not much for kids on-site, but perfect for biking and long beach strolls. We really enjoyed it!
Chris, Hindhead
Great holiday, would definitely go again!

Really enjoyed the trip, very chill experience

The place was spotless and well-equipped, which we really appreciated. The only downside was the pillows-they were way too soft and didn’t offer much support. Otherwise, it was a really good stay!
Emily, Stroud
Honestly, having to park at the entrance and walk along that gravel path was quite the hassle. The noise from cars and people crunching on the gravel, especially at night, really got on our nerves. It’s a bit inconvenient and spoiled the experience a little.

Overall, the cottage was well-equipped and comfy. Just a bit more cutlery would make it perfect for our stay!

Comfortable and easy stay

We had a lovely stay at this cosy little cottage near the nature reserve. The place was spotless and kept in great condition, perfect for exploring the area. The only thing missing was a dustpan and brush in the kitchen, which would’ve been handy. The beds were a bit firm, but overall, we’d definitely recommend it for a nice break!

We had a lovely stay overall, but a couple of things could be better. The fridge was a bit on the tiny side, which was a pain. Also, there wasn’t much for a 9-month-old to do. Still, it was a great break and we’ll return once the baby’s a bit older!

The cottage was spotless and I genuinely felt reassured that everything was thoroughly sanitised during these COVID times. It’s a shame the cafe was shut because it would’ve been perfect to sit outside and enjoy some company while maintaining social distancing. Hope it reopens soon!
Alex
We loved staying at this charming cottage - it’s perfectly tucked away yet close enough to everything we needed. The hot tub and underfloor heating in the bathroom were real highlights. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay!
Robert
Lovely quiet area. 2 nice local pubs. Seafront is a 2-3 minute walk away. The property we stayed in was nice and spacious, well looked after and plenty of shared outdoor space for our kids to run around. The Cafe on site wasn’t open at all during our stay. Possibly only open during holiday terms when busier. Would recommend salterns village though and we’ll be back next year.
Lorraine
We loved our week so peaceful and relaxing the coastal walks were fantastic and started just a cross the road from the site amazing, definitely the break I needed ?? only wish we had stayed long ,
Andrew

Louise
Just returned from a lovely week at Salterns. We stayed in the 2 bedroom lodge which was great. The beach across the road was amazing and the kids loved it.
Karen
The village was well maintained and in a lovely quiet area. Sadly the cafe was out of use during our stay due to covid social distancing policy.
Tracy
If you want a calm relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting, easy access to the beach and walks this is the place to go, staff are really lovely and helpful, it was spotless not just the house but the area as well.
Zoe
