Where's Cardigan Bay Holiday Park?
Kelvin, Derby
Date of stay: 3rd November 2018
Last week of the season and it showed slightly in that some off season repair work was probably needed. But certainly not such that it caused us any problems. All told, a great holiday.

Date of stay: 22nd September 2018
Beautiful caravan, and spotlessly clean. We had booked a 2 bedroom unit, but found on arrival that we had been upgraded to a 3 bed at no extra cost. My only criticism would be the shower, which I couldnt make run at more than luke warm.

Date of stay: 27th July 2018
We thought the park and facilities were quite small and limited on first arrival, however once we started using the facilities on site we really enjoyed what they had to offer. The kids enjoyed the pool and we loved the hot tubs, and the small shop always had exactly what we were looking for. The walk to the beach through the forestry alongside a small brook was stunning and welcome shade on a very hot day. The bar was pleasant with a nice clean play area for the children and football field right alongside. Even better there were plenty of tables and seats in the prefect places for parents to enjoy a drink whilst safely watching their children. Our only suggestions on improvements would be a slightly larger indoor amusement area for kids, and possibly an indoor soft play area for kids to enjoy on a rainy day. The site was only a 10 minutes drive into Cardigan which was well worth a visit. We can't wait to come back!!

Reuben, Bristol
Date of stay: 16th July 2018
Everything was perfect except for lots of black hair (human) on carpets throughout. We borrowed a hoover from reception to get it up, but the hoover sucked with the force of a light breeze... perhaps explaining why it was there in the first place. The caravan was a great size, perfectly located within the park and well fitted out. Everything was in good condition and clean (with the exception of carpets), and wed definitely return!
Penny, Coventry
Date of stay: 9th July 2018

Our Poppit2 was lovely apart from the beds in which one could feel every spring in the mattress. Perhaps an underblanket would help?

Date of stay: 25th May 2018
Excellent site, I would like to see a slightly bigger shop on site as we arrived at 7- 45 pm after a very long & arduous journey from the south( eight & half hours) would have been good to get a few groceries etc to tide us over that evening.

Date of stay: 20th April 2018
friendly park all staff helpful close to beach but no veiw of it.....nice wooded walk down to the beach (10 mins easy walk).....lovely pool and hot tubs....we went while it was quiet and had the pool to ourselves but it is not very big so guess it could get a bit crowded in the school hols.....on tbe down side caravans on top of each other and had to park car away from the caravan and cart our stuff over wet muddy grass to the caravan...but other caravans were empty when we were there so we had a quiet restful break the beach was dog friendly....and big...lovely walks along the coast path too overall we had a good stay....food in restaurant...my steak was tough but hubby loved his fish and chips....a bit pricey for what it was....caravan was clean and comfortable

Date of stay: 20th October 2017
The caravan was lovely and well kitted out and thankfully very snug as we arrived at the same time as Hurricane Ophelia but it wasn't noticeable in the comfy caravan or on the site where they reassuringly had two managers available that night just in case of problems.

Date of stay: 8th September 2017
Great site, very clean caravan, but the restaurant was shut 3 of the 6 nights we were there. Staff weren't all that helpful about the WiFi and to get to anything exciting you had to drive at least 40 minutes away. Which wasn't great when we'd already driven a long way to get there.

Date of stay: 14th July 2017
The food was lovely but had to wait a very long time, seemed to be understaffed.
Diane, Ormskirk
Date of stay: 14th July 2017
My only niggle was that the caravan had only a 16 amp max so instructions advised that we couldn't use any high amp items together. so couldn't put the kettle or microwave on when someone in the shower. As there were 3 adults in the caravan described as 6 berth that is pathetic and spolied what would have been a perfect 10/10
Trudi, Rainham Kent
Date of stay: 11th July 2017
we had a lovely time

Date of stay: 26th June 2017

Date of stay: 26th June 2017
Lovely and clean accommodation. Only criticism would be, that a larger 4 slice toaster would be better in a Pembroke 3 home.
Susan, Birmingham
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
Lovely caravan well equipped with every thing you needed and some little extras which were so appreciated.
Angela, Frome
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017

Lorna, Manchester
Date of stay: 10th June 2017
Lovely, clean modern caravan. Very well equipped The double room was a lot smaller than I expected, smaller than any I have stayed in in the past, it was a struggle to get round the bed and I'm a petite lady! This surprised me as it was the top range caravan. Other than that everything else was great.

Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
Caravan was lovely but the sofa was a little worn. Didn't seem worth the extra money for the difference in the poppit as balcony was the only added luxury.
Ann, Swansea
Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
Really enjoyed our stay at the park. Excellent value for money and idyllic scenery.
Troy, Wirral
Date of stay: 20th May 2017
Clean, modern caravan, plenty of space and all amenities you need including fully kitted out kitchen of equipment/utensils, washing liquid etc. Sofas could of been comfier, and would have like hangars/hooks for coats etc. Loud boiler through thin caravan walls if on at night. Request one near to the entrance so you don't have to walk as far.

Andrew, Yeovil
Date of stay: 1st October 2016
Great camp site, great location. No problems on site. To be really nit picky, hot water coming out of the taps is boiling, a note for children by the taps would be beneficial and probably quite important and the tv whilst the picture was great, is probably a bit small for the caravan. Other than that a brilliant camp site and a perfect holiday.
Meryl, Llanelli

Date of stay: 29th August 2016
Excellent facilities. First time in this sort of accommodation and felt it was very good value for money. Spotlessly clean and good facilities on site. A good base for exploring Pembrokeshire. We drove to Tenby in less than an hour and Poppit Sands beach is less than a 10 minute walk from the park. When it rained we had the swimming pool on site to entertain the kids which they loved. Would definitely recommend.
Susan, Biddulph, Stoke On Trent

Date of stay: 15th July 2016
This is our 5th year at Cardigan bay and it is an excellent park and facilities, the caravan was very clean, spacious and in a good location. Caravan looked brand new.
We were looking at going back next year but it is nearly £300 more for the same dates, it may start to price people out of booking.
Anthony, North Lanarkshire
Date of stay: 15th July 2016
Lovely caravan, clean and modern.
Jacqueline, Birmingham
Date of stay: 15th July 2016
The caravan was very good value but unfortunately the site was just a bit to quiet. Most people f the caravans are privately owned so more like a retirement site.

Club room closes early if not enough people in. There is nowhere around without having to drive out to eat and drink.

The beach which is a more metres away than stated for a disabled person is lovely and wide the only drawback is that dogs are allowed on the beach so you have to be careful where the children play. This is typical in f a lot to f beaches we visited in the Cardigan area.

Date of stay: 24th June 2016
Comfy caravan. It did shake a little when lying in bed and someone got up to go to the toilet, but we got used to that by end of
week! The single beds only really seemed big enough for a child ( as my husband found out one night when trying to escape the crying baby in our room), so not sure you would get 4 adults and 2 kids in a 6 bed.

Modern furnishings and so much nicer than expected! Set back from the road through, so really peaceful location and very private. Very well equipped. Nicely surprised.
Julie, Blackwood
Date of stay: 20th June 2016
What I loved was it was very dog friendly. In some caravan parks, dog friendly caravans are the oldest and sometimes smaller and rundown. Our caravan was huge, bright and airy and in a lovely location.

Minor niggles really.... 2 egg cups in a 6 berth caravan... no lids for saucepans making cooking a spag bol a bit tricky when we had 3 guests.

very good caravan. good facilities, if slight disquiet was the outside of the windows were not as clean and the carpet should be cleaned on a more regular basis. Again it was not that bad and certainly not enough to stop us booking next year if we chose.

Cottage that we stayed in is a hidden gem. Very clean and presented lovely with a nice touch of having wine and welsh cakes ready for our arrival.
The cottage was spacious with everything you needed to make it a home from home for the duration of your stay.
Garden gorgeous and very private.
Only thing I would say and very minor is the hot tub could do with having a assisted bar to help remove the lid as awkward. But hot tub itself huge.

Paulette, West Midlands
Date of stay: 4th September 2015
The caravan was of very high specification, although only rated mid-range by the holiday park. Exceptionally clean and bright with a spacious lounge area. Allowing holiday makers to book in earlier would have been one, of only a few ideas to improve the holiday. The other idea may be to provide 1 or 2 extra stools as there weren't enough seats for six people to dine around the table. Four children (under 15 yrs) slept in the two twin bedrooms comfortably, although these beds may have been too cramped for adults.

We are both late 60,s pensioners who took 12 years old grandson. He had his own entertainment with Ipad, etc. He loved the pool complex and beach. Mostly new caravans on site, many owner occupied, a quiet site with limited entertainment but this suited us.
If you want a beach holiday with an excellent pool complex this is the place. We had several trips out to local beaches/resorts, Tenby, Newquay etc. all within 20 mile radius, but kept coming back to Poppit Sands. Would recommend site and area and would return to site.

Date of stay: 11th July 2015
Immaculate caravan as usual, the only downside was lack of coat hooks when the weather was wet and no towel hooks. Very spacious and surrounding grass area well kept. Swimming pool complex excellent and available all day.
Very few restrictions, nice and easy. We shall definitely return - this is due in part to friendliness and helpfulness of staff as well as amenities and location. Please don't turn it into an all-action centre!
Michelle, Stoke On Trent

Amazing holiday, caravan lovely modern & clean located near a beautiful beach. Short drive to new quay seaside town with loads to do, boat trips, bottle nose Dolphins in the harbour, crabbing off the harbour wall.Good place to eat ( found chippy & restaurants poor in village near caravan park ). Will definitely be back next year, we didn't want to come home.

Date of stay: 6th June 2015
Our mobile home was excellent providing comfortable accommodation for 4 adults and one 2 year old. It was beautifully clean and very well appointed. The only reason I have not given full marks is because there were a couple of little faults i.e. The plugs in the hand basins did not work properly, a light bulb was broken and the shower head came apart. On being informed of these faults, the staff came and repaired them telling us that the they were waiting for some teething problems with mobile homes being permanently repaired under their guarantee.

Date of stay: 30th May 2015
The reason why I marked furniture and fittings so low is that both of us were allergic to the vapours given off by something in the new furniture and fittings. We both developed very sore eyes and I had trouble with coughing. We found the answer was to open most of the windows wide. We did not complain at the time as we were really grateful for the upgrade.

Tina, Bromsgrove
Date of stay: 16th August 2014
We visited Cardigan Bay in August 2014, unfortunately we picked the wrong week....Week of the storms!!
However, this did not spoil our holiday, having the pool was a god send, our children aged 13 & 9 both had a great time in there. I would imagine on a summer days you would not need to go anywhere else.
It was nice to find a nice clean pool that had excellent changing facilities that did not smell...Unlike some other holiday sites I could mention.
Site small in comparison to other sites we have stayed on.....If the hustle and bustle of larger caravan parks with large amusements and day time childrens show is what you are looking for then ....Cardigan Bay is not for you.
Its a more relaxed and quiet site during the day, with disco Dave on the evening...Great entertainment for our 9 years old. Football pitch at the back of the club house which entertained our 13 year old.
We could not get phone reception...a bit frustrating at first, but to be honest it was nice to just have a complete break.
Beech 10 min walk away, again we only visited it in-between showers / storms, but I would imagine in the summer it would be fantastic. Large clean beech, having rocks for those of you that like to go crabbing.
Cardigan town a 10 min drive away, plenty of shops and supermarkets .
Restaurant opened this year, bit of a wait for your meal but when it did arrive you could see why...all cooked fresh. No frozen nougets or fishfingers here all prepared fresh, priced very reasonable.
Staff really friendly and helpful, bar staff a bit rushed off their feet but still remaining polite and helpful...
We really enjoyed our stay and will be going again next year, hopefully we will get a better week weather wise, so to take advantage of the pool with the canopy open and the lovely sandy beech.
I always pack the car with cleaning products to clean where we are staying....Not needed here caravan was spotless. A nice touch with the complementary tea, coffee, sugar & milk.

Fantastic place, the location was perfect to get around. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather so spent time on the beach and in the sea. The facilities were great, the pool was good as when it was hot they opened the roof to make an outdoor pool, one small downside was because of poor mobile reception in the area we purchased wifi and that was not good.

For the Poppit 2 caravan, the amenities and comfort was very good, but we also hired a Cardigan 1 (pets allowed) caravan and whilst this was very clean, the mattresses and seating were less then comfortable. It would appear human comfort is not a priority when taking pets.
The holiday park itself is in a great location, just a 5 minute stroll to a wonderfully sandy beach and the park facilities are good. Just a pity the restaurant only opened Thursday-Monday in high season.
Would definitely return, but maybe without the dog.
Jo, Brackley
Date of stay: 11th July 2014
A lovely site great pool and the restaurant.
The walk to the beach is only short walk down a lovely path .
There is plenty to do in the area by car we went to an Iron Fort, Castles Ruins and Cardigan Island.
We stayed in a Poppit 2 it was very nice lots of room. The bed was a bit springy but still managed to sleep. The cutlery wasn't very good quality but wouldn't spoil a holiday.

Cardigan Bay Caravan Park claimed to be 5 star, and it was! I have never been to such a tidy caravan park in my like, set in a stunning protected inlet, within a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Poppits Sands, which my Jack Russel loved! Quiet at night, loved the swimming pool, the weather was good, so the roof was pulled back, felt like I was abroad! Staff always friendly and helpful, the only thing I found upsetting was the fact I had only booked four nights, will definitely return for longer next year!

Again ten out of ten. I do not want to say this because I would sooner keep it more of a secret. Imagine opening two large solid gates to see in front of you a little bridge over a stream. On the other side a large old cottage covered in ivy, surrounded by bushes and set in a huge garden of maybe half an acre. This is Old Millers Cottage. Inside every modern appliance you will need. From a fitted kitchen to power showers. If you have a dog it has it's own park to explore!

Think if the park was very busy could be too close to caravans, garden at cottage could do with some, TLC, but we had a lovely time there, and yes i would be tempted to return, but not an easy place to find need to be better sign posted to the park,

Great small but friendly site, our caravan was very clean as was the rest of the site. Resturant was good value for money and a beautiful beach nearby. Would love to go back x

Lovely park and accommodation. The only reason I have marked it down is because there was some confusion on the first night due to the restaurant. The restaurant was booked (4 tables I believe but no one in there!) I asked at reception if food was served in the bar to be told it was possible to have food in there. Later on someone came in to explain this was not possible. I didn’t make a fuss. But was slightly annoyed when my daughter told me that the staff were outside planning what to say to me and it was made out that I had demanded food. It was only going by what the guy in reception had told me. We ate in the restaurant the following night my good was nice, slightly over priced. My overall impression of the restaurant was it was trying to be something it is not and kitchen struggled to cope with cooking for more than one table.

Absolutely superb cottage, great facilities, very private, and the patio, garden and hot tub fantastic. However, although supposedly secure garden for dogs, our beagle got out within 5 minutes of arrival, and wandered off around the caravan park.
Gary
Fantastic park, friendly staff and great facilities. Nearby beach is clean and beautiful.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
