Windsor Castle is a royal residence in Berkshire, founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. Royal Collection Trust describes it as the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, and it has been home to 40 monarchs. The grounds cover 13 acres and combine a fortress, a palace and a small town.
Tip: The castle sits at the top of a steep hill and much of the site is outdoors, so wear comfortable shoes and allow for long walking distances.

A charming 1930s-style miniature England in Beaconsfield, with model railways and a ride-on train.
Bekonscot in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, is a model village built at one inch to one foot and opened to the public in 1929. It is commonly described as the oldest surviving model village in the UK. Its miniature villages capture rural English life in the 1930s, with a cathedral, castle, airport, zoo and cricket match, plus shops with punning names such as Miss A. Stitch the dressmaker.
Tip: Head for the ride-on miniature railway and look out for the punning shop names as you go round.

Walk the world's first purpose-built race track and step inside Concorde at this Weybridge motoring and aviation museum.
Brooklands Museum sits on part of the original 1907 motor-racing circuit in Weybridge, the first purpose-built racing track in the world. It was the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, and the site still has surviving stretches of the track, including the steep Members' Banking and Test Hill.
Tip: Follow the brown and white tourist signs once you reach Brooklands, as satnavs can send you to a private entrance.

A Grade I listed Tudor-era manor near Guildford, famous as Button House in the BBC sitcom Ghosts.
West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed, timber-framed house in West Horsley, east of Guildford. The current building dates back to the 15th century and has 50 rooms. Elizabeth I stayed here in the 16th century and watched courtiers "running at the ring" from a window.

The highest summit of the Greensand Ridge, with woodland walks and a Gothic tower on top.
Leith Hill is the highest summit of the Greensand Ridge. At 294 metres, it is the second highest point in south-east England. Woodland paths cover the hill, and the Greensand Way runs for 1.5 miles past the 18th-century Gothic tower on the summit. Cyclists can tackle the climbs too, on designated paths.
Tip: Check the National Trust website for current opening of the tower, house and kiosk before you go. Parking is pay-by-app with no phone signal, so set up JustPark beforehand.

Hampton Court Palace is a Grade I listed royal palace beside the River Thames, 12 miles southwest of central London. Building began in 1514 for Cardinal Wolsey, and Henry VIII later took it over and enlarged it. You can see the Great Kitchens, built by Sir Giles Daubeney and later expanded, along with works of art from the Royal Collection.

There were a few issues within the caravan to begin with but the Edgeley Park team addressed the issues quickly and professionally.Thank you Nicky, Cathy and Michael.
The lodge wasnt very clean upon arrival. The decking area and table and chairs was very dirty. The cooking trays and glass wear were also dirty. We had to spend time cleaning on the day we arrived. We also didnt have any hot water until the following morning. The staff were however helpful getting this fixed for us.I also think the lodge is very small for 6 adults as advertised. We had 5 adults and it was very tight.
Everything was clean tidy and well presented. It was better than we expected.

Outside furniture missing one easy chair and sun umbrella. Although we did not search too much as other chairs were there.

Really enjoyed our time at Goddards Mead. The cottage was lovely, well-equipped and perfectly situated. We can't wait to return!

The accommodation was very clean and pleasant.
We booked a dog walking getaway and honestly, it was just what we needed. The place had great quality accommodation, with lovely pubs and eateries nearby. Plenty of open fields for off-road adventures and the dog loved it so much, she didnt want to leave the car to go home!
We stayed recently and honestly, the WiFi was pretty patchy, which was a bit frustrating. No hairdryer or tea towels and we had to bring our own washing up liquid. Only three takeaways deliver here, so plan ahead. But Shere itself is lovely, especially Hillys tea shop - the cakes are divine!
Comfortable well equipped and clean lodge. Excellent shower and working washing machine included. Comfortable seating area and great kitchen, 2 out of 3 beds very comfortable to sleep on.
Great Lodge with lots of space.The mattress in the main bedroom was sprung whereas the one in the other bedroom was memory foam. Didn't stop us sleeping but was a bumpy sleep and the only reason we have scored a 4 star otherwise would've been 5.
I can't fault Edgeley Park for anything. The park is in a perfect location, quiet, beautiful countryside with loads to see and do. We live in France, so this is the perfect place for us to stay when visiting friends and family in the area.The park is beautifully kept and spotlessly clean and tidy. We've stayed in 2 different lodges, on 3 different occasions and the only thing I would say, in one of the lodges is that the mattress was a little on the lumpy side and we could feel the springs. We mentioned this to reception and they were extremely apologetic and gave us a couple of brand new duvets to put on the mattress, which was just enough to give us a week of comfortable nights' sleep.The lodges are lovely, really well equipped with modern facilities and they are spotlessly clean.The pool is a massive bonus and my wife enjoyed a swim every morning.Pricing is really competitive and, for what you get, extremely good value for money. I would recommend Edgeley Park to anyone, and will be back again and again.
Nice layout , had a bath but not sure what made it superior , kitchen cupboards were peeling off , could do with a proper clean and not just because it was a pet friendly, dogs dont leave crushed biscuits on back of sofa or fag butts on decking. Was ok though but wouldnt choose that lodge again.
We had a lovely stay overall, the location was fantastic and really nice for exploring. However, the pool access was a bit of a letdown - just one 30-minute slot each day felt quite limiting. Booking ahead was necessary, but it wasnt clear in the confirmation, which was frustrating. Still, we enjoyed it!
The place was lovely, super peaceful and perfect for dogs since the garden is fully enclosed. We loved it!
The caravan was clean and tidy and all the facilities you need are available inside the caravan lovely deck in area a nice surrounding plants and flowers round the caravan parking bay next to your caravan overall a very good holiday and would recommend to anyone
Wed definitely stay here again, the lodge was lovely overall. Only small gripe is the late check-in time at 5pm - feels a bit much. Also, we noticed a few cobwebs near the lounge windows, which could do with a bit more attention. Still, pretty good stay!
We loved this cosy little cottage! Its tucked away nicely, so it feels peaceful but still close enough to enjoy the local shops and pubs. The hot tub was fantastic after a day out and the underfloor heating kept everything super warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel right at home. Cant wait to return for a longer stay soon!
This place is fantastic! The cottage is super well-kept and has everything you need. We loved the endless dog walks just outside the door and meeting the farm animals was such a treat-especially Penelope, the curious pig. The host was really friendly and quick to respond. Its a perfect getaway for us and the pups. Well be back for sure, great value! Highly recommended.

We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were super friendly and helpful but never intrusive, which we appreciated. The fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. Inside, the place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. We also enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and used the BBQ one evening. Wed definitely come back and already recommended it to friends. Thanks for a great break!
We stayed at the lodge and really liked the overall vibe, but there were quite a few cobwebs and spiders around the windows, curtains, blinds and even in the bath, which was a bit of a nightmare for someone with a phobia. Also, only 3 chairs in the dining area meant we couldnt all sit together for dinner. Still, the rest of the lodge was spot on.
Really enjoyed our stay, the owners were lovely and the hot tub was a big hit! Definitely coming back.
We stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and loved how private it was. Robert and Sharon are genuinely lovely hosts. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. All in all, wed definitely recommend it!

Beautiful caravan on a lovely caravan site, swimming pool, outdoor park and tennis court was great fun. Shop on site is small but has the essentials. Cafe food and drinks were tasty and all staff very friendly!

Surrey Hills is a great destination for wonderful walks and nice pubs with good food. We loved the setting of the park which looks well-maintained with lots of large trees and planting. The caravan was indeed comfortable and well-equipped. The staff handled any of our questions in a very friendly and helpful way. We had a lovely time and will be back.
