Visitor Reviews of Home Farm Park Lakeside Retreat

The stay was really peaceful and the comfort was spot on.

We had a lovely stay. The lodge showed some signs of wear, but it was cosy overall. Adding placemats or coasters would make it even better.

We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spotless and roomy and the location is perfect. The staff at reception were friendly and eager to help. Just a small thing-some hooks in the bathroom would be handy.

Cozy lodge with everything we could ask for!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, the hot tub was a real highlight! It’s super spacious, which was perfect for us and our two big dogs. The twin rooms are a bit tight and one didn’t even have a bedside table, which was a bit odd. Also, it wasn’t the cleanest-there was quite a lot of dust on the TV unit, but considering it was early in the season, it’s understandable. Overall, great value and we’d definitely come back!

Absolutely loved our stay! The lodge was super clean and had everything we needed. Staff at check-in and check-out were really friendly. The complex looked great and we’re already planning to come back!

Really enjoyed our stay, the place was spotless and well-equipped. Stayed in December and the heating was way too hot, but otherwise perfect. We’ll be back!

We recently stayed at this lovely lodge with my partner and honestly, it was quite a pleasant experience. The place is beautifully decorated and fully equipped, which made us feel right at home. The interiors are thoughtfully done and we appreciated the generous supply of towels and bathrobes. However, a few small touches could really make a difference - like adding a smart TV so we could connect to Wi-Fi and watch our own stuff. Also, even though only the two of us stayed, the beds in the other rooms weren’t made up, so maybe clearer info on that would help future guests. One thing that wasn’t quite clear was whether the lodge faces the lake or not - some clarification there would be useful. We did mention our late arrival at check-in, but the female receptionist’s comment about disturbing other guests felt a bit off and made us feel a little unwelcome. Still, we loved the setting and overall enjoyed our stay!

Really disappointed, the cabin wasn’t actually by the lake.

We recently stayed in Pine 12 and honestly, it was just what we needed - a peaceful escape with a lovely view of the lake. The hot tub was a real highlight and we enjoyed some on-site fishing which was quite relaxing. The accommodation itself was quite nice, although it’s more like a top-tier caravan rather than a lodge, but still very comfortable. The site was spotless and well-kept, which we appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed, though a few small things were missing, like toiletries in the bathroom - no hand soap or even door mats, especially by the patio door. Bath towels were a bit small and the bath sheets weren’t the usual large ones we’re used to with Hoseasons. We stayed for a week and there was no hoover, just a soft brush, which made cleaning the carpets a bit tricky. Dining outside was a bit of a miss since there’s only a tiny coffee table on the patio, so alfresco meals aren’t really an option. There’s no TV in the bathroom, but the power and aerial points are there if you want to set one up. The external light near the hot tub wasn’t working, which made the evenings pretty dark - we let staff know but it was still out when we left. We did have a small issue with the TV at first, as the aerial in the wardrobe in the main bedroom came loose. The bath robes were a bonus, but we’d prefer them all to be bigger, maybe extra large. Despite these little niggles, we had an amazing time and we’d definitely recommend the lakeside restaurant just a few minutes away - definitely worth a visit!

We had a fantastic stay! The lodge was immaculate and stunning. Loved the little touches like towels and robes. Definitely would stay again, highly recommend it! Cheers!

We stayed in a really roomy lodge and the twin rooms felt surprisingly spacious - no cramped feeling at all. The bonus was definitely the bath, which was lovely. When we arrived, they told us the fridge wasn’t working, but they’d already sorted a new fridge/freezer, so no hassle there. Everything was spotless too. Highly recommend!

We stayed at this place recently and honestly, it was fantastic. The house was super clean and had all the modern amenities we needed. The hot tub was a real highlight and those dressing gowns were such a thoughtful touch. Definitely recommend!

We've visited Home Farm Park quite a few times now and honestly, it’s our favourite spot for the Skegness Speed Weekend. We’ve stayed in the same property four times, but this time we tried a different one through a different provider and it didn’t disappoint. The place was spotless, super comfy and the hot tub was a real treat. If I had to be picky, the carpets could do with replacing soon. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Home Farm Park - 9/10 from us!

We had a fantastic time! The lodge was spotless, cosy and perfectly stocked with everything we needed. Definitely planning to return soon.

Date of stay: 27th March 2024
We had a pretty good stay here. It’s quite handy being just a short drive into Skegness and Burgh Le Marsh’s chip shop is definitely worth a visit. The site itself is a fisherman’s dream - loads of pegs to choose from, so fishing was easy and fun. It does get pretty dark at night since there aren’t any lights on site, so bring a good torch! The shop on site is quite basic, so we’d recommend grabbing what you need from the COOP in Burgh Le Marsh, which is only about 4 minutes by car. Skegness is even closer, around 8 minutes away. The van was really comfy and the hot tub was spotlessly clean and nice and hot when we arrived - perfect after a day out. WiFi was solid too, with plenty of signal for the kids’ tablets and our phones, so no complaints there at all. We’d definitely come back!
Emma Clarke
Date of stay: 24th March 2024
Honestly, we were pretty let down by the cleanliness. The plates had dried food on them and the frying pan was disgusting - definitely not just wear and tear. The hot tub was also gross, with scum around the edges and dirt at the bottom. It took ages before it was cleaned, which was disappointing. We’ve booked with Hoseasons a lot over the years, but this experience makes us think twice next time. Not what we expected at all.

Date of stay: 23rd March 2024
The place is super peaceful and tidy and after three visits, the lodge still feels fresh and new. We’d definitely return, it’s really lovely here!

We love this lodge! Facing the lake is a real plus and there's plenty of kitchen gear if you want to cook. Lots of space to relax, definitely our favourite spot!
Emma
Date of stay: 16th March 2024
We had a lovely stay at the lodge! It was spotless when we arrived and the rooms were really spacious, which we appreciated. The hot tub was already warm and perfect for unwinding after a day out. Getting in and out was hassle-free, which made things so much easier. The site had a shop and deli, though we didn’t use them - they looked really inviting, honestly. Our kids loved spotting the donkeys, geese, ducks and other wildlife roaming around. It’s a peaceful spot with good privacy, just a short drive to Skegness. We’d definitely come back!

Date of stay: 8th January 2024
We stayed at the lodge recently and it was really lovely, super spacious and always clean. The only downside was that there wasn’t enough seating for six adults - we ended up squeezing into the dining chairs. The complex at night was quite dark, with no proper lighting near the hot tub, so we had to use our phones to see. Also, the veranda got very slippy when it rained, which was a bit risky without non-slip mats.
Olivia
Date of stay: 6th January 2024
We recently stayed at a cabin with a hot tub facing the lake because we really wanted some privacy and didn’t want to disturb others. When we asked about it, the guy on site was quite rude, saying the pictures we booked were just "references," which wasn’t clear from the website. Interestingly, there was another cabin right next door that looked exactly the same and was empty, so we asked if we could move there. He just said no, everything was booked, which was frustrating. The cabin itself felt a bit thrown together-none of the bedroom or bathroom doors locked, so we had to prop bags against them for a bit of privacy. The entrance light was out, making it pretty dangerous to get in and out of the hot tub after dark, especially when it was wet. The kitchen was unfinished, with the fridge and freezer not attached to the cupboards, which made opening them a pain-they kept slamming shut. Cleaning wasn’t great either, with toothpaste smeared on the bathroom door and general grime. Honestly, it didn’t match up to what we expected from the photos or the description. It was a bit of a let down, really. We’d hoped for a cosy, well-maintained spot, but it felt more like a rushed job. Not what we were hoping for at all!

Really enjoyed our stay, already booked again for next year.

Was upgraded on arrival which was nice a TV in bedroom would of been good but otherwise loved it

Fantastic stay here again. Spotlessly clean, well maintained ground and friendly staff, what more could you want! Already looking for dates later in the year.

Rachael
Only downfall is not easy to get to the village on foot as busy road and not safe for people with mobility issuses!lodge was beautiful and comfatble , hot tub was amazing!lovley scenery and very relaxing!would deffinatly book again
Lindy
Absolutely stunning....the sites surroundings ...the caravan ...all of it ...Great!!! wi-fi and 32" TV was a bonus.....A little bit pricey for 4 nights . but you get what you pay for I suppose ... Perfect few days break!!!! Would prefer to book direct with the site....but don't think that is possible ....but will definitely return !
Naomi
Lovely short break away! Only downside was the heating being on timer and we had a day in the lodge (stayed in November) so it was rather cold. Had an issue with the boiler but rang the number given and had a gentleman come out straight away pretty much. Overall the stay was lovely and we would come back
Alicia
I had a absolutely lovely time staying at Home Farm Park in a lodge with a Laskeside View, The lodge was absolutely beautiful and so clean, the beds were very comfortable and just overall so homely and cozy. Would 100% visit again it is so worth the money. There are local shops and Skegness is only a 10 minute drive which was a great day trip out. Very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend!
