Bowland Fell Park
North of England » Tosside, Nr Skipton
View Accommodations

The beautiful countryside around Bowland Fell Park makes this holiday park the perfect destination for walking, cycling, fishing and wildlife spotting. It's close to the Yorkshire Dales and just 30 miles from the Lake District so there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and for taking in some wonderful views.

With an indoor heated swimming pool, a children's play area and a lovely bar and restaurant, the park is also within easy reach of numerous attractions, such as Bolton Abbey and the picturesque market towns of Skipton and Leyburn. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry - the Thirteen Café Bar in Settle offers a great choice of beers, including Czech Budvar!

Choose from a two or three bedroomed caravan - we like the brand new Lifestyle Gold which sleeps up to four people with one double and one twin bedroom. It's centrally heated, double glazed and has a good sized verandah complete with garden furniture.

For a great day out nearby, Harrogate still has its Victorian Turkish Baths where you can indulge in some spa treatments before popping for tea at Betty's Café Tea Rooms.

  • Indoor pool
  • Close to Yorkshire Dales
  • Great for exploring

Could have been cleaner, my partner found a large clump of dog hair on one of his black t-shirts, the plates in the cupboard all needed a good wash before we used them and there were food remains just inside the door as if they had been swept there and not picked up. It was comfortable, and we had a balcony backing on to woodland, so we sat and watched the wildlife which was very relaxing.

Date of stay: 25th May 2018
Lovely clean site. We had a pet friendly caravan that I was a bit worried about as wondered about smells , cleanliness etc. Previously I have just stayed in cottages.
Needn't of worried at all. Caravan was clean, comfortable and to a very good standard.
We really enjoyed our holiday and if we went to that part of Yorkshire would most definately go back.
The surrounding countryside is stunning. We had a trip pinto Morcambe and Lancaster and all the way there the views were totally outstanding.

Only problem was the door on the bathroom stuck and had to rescue the children and my husband a few times, this has been reported at reception, other than that a comfortable and clean caravan brilliant for the family.

Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
The 'van was well situated with a very nice decking area, complete with a table and four chairs. One thing I think it lacked, but it's the same with most 'vans, nowhere to hang things! i.e. no hooks on doors, no hooks in the bathroom! Just a minor gripe. Overall, very nice.

Bowland Fell is a lovely place. Very peaceful. The staff were lovely and the pool and farm shop were great. The 17th Century coaching inn was absolutely beautiful. It is a shame it wasn't always open and didn't serve food during the week while we were there. When we did go in for a meal on the Friday night it was lovely and well priced. Our caravan was great and all in all we felt it was good value for money and would go back.
Tina
Great holiday, great location, great accommodation. Will definitely visit again.
Hazel
Such a lovely, quiet site.
Carol
Very nice site and accomodation.
Laura
Very nice relaxing and friendly park. things to do for the children including a swimming pool. The onsite pub was friendly and had a good selection of beers. Food looked good and there was a good variety of meals. The caravan we stayed in was lovely and the parks are good for the kids.
Susan
great holiday had by all easy enoygh to find and get out and about the area very helpful at reception found me a postcode for the sat nav. The onsite pub is a must very friendly staff will be going again in the not to distant future
Kenneth
ideal for me. The only problem was at the time of my visit there were no meals / sandwiches etc available at the pub apart from the Thursday, which was steak night. also some consideration for meals/snacks for vegetarians.
Andrea

Fun Days Out near Bowland Fell Park

about 10 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
about 21 Miles
Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays.  See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around.  You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover.  Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe.  The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.  You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.
about 21 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
about 21 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
about 33 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

about 36 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
