We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and honestly, it was a wonderful experience. The owners are genuinely warm and super helpful, making us feel right at home. The place itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and a cosy vibe. The shower was powerful and the bed was so comfy! Plus, parking right outside was a real bonus. Perfect spot for walks to Thaxted and exploring nearby villages-definitely recommend!

We really needed a dog walking getaway and this place hit the spot. Lovely accommodation, close to pubs and eateries and endless fields for off-road adventures. The dog loved it so much, didn’t want to leave!

We had a fantastic weekend here! The place was just perfect for what we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. Our dogs had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating-such a hit! The garden kept them busy and Luna wagged her tail so much she strained it, but all’s well. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Rob and Sharon put so much effort into beautifully restoring the historic building and they made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived-shout out to Bonnie too! The place has everything you need for a comfy, relaxing break. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering around pretty villages like Thaxted and discovering their charming history and architecture. Would definitely recommend!

The place is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The garden is perfect for dogs, completely secluded and with nice furniture to relax on. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. We’d definitely recommend it!

A lovely park in beautiful surroundings. Caravan was lovely and clean but unfortunately there was no where to sit outside the caravan when the weather was nice Also the steps leading into the caravan were very steep as the caravan was quite high off the ground. A small veranda would have solved both these problems. Just a small thing but when the weathers great you want be able to sit outside and enjoy it. Staff were lovely and polite nothing too much trouble.

We found the weeks stay in the caravan a little expensive compared to others we looked at. The surroundings were very rural and beautiful. Not impressed with the facilities on the site but the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Very clean and quiet park good location for steam train and canal rides

Very peaceful site on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. The caravan we hired was brand new and immaculate inside. Facilities were excellent, there is a lovely pub serving good bar meals and well kept real ale. There are two playgrounds for the little ones both well maintained. Special mention must go out to the staff on site who are excellent, always polite and friendly. Make sure you book for the pool as soon as you can though, as it gets very busy and they only allow 11 people in each hour.

Stayed in Gold Plus 8 caravan - modern, spacious and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful - making the kids feel welcome and special. Only minor gripe would be that there could be more facilities for kids, such as a bigger play area and an area for ball games.

Very peaceful park on the edge of the Dales. Caravan was spotless and very well equipped. We were only using it as a base to explore waterfalls so didnt use many of the facilities apart from the laundry. Only a tiny shop in the corner of reception so make sure you are well stocked. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
