The owners were so welcoming and helpful, especially when the storm took out the power. The cottage was spotless and cosy, with a lovely enclosed garden for our dog and a relaxing hot tub for us. Brilliant stay!

This place is really stunning, honestly the photos don’t do it justice. The lodge was super spacious and luxurious, perfect for relaxing. The staff were lovely and friendly, making us feel at home. Sitting in the hot tub, listening to wildlife with those gorgeous views-pure bliss!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, which is tucked away on a working farm but still feels really private. The hosts, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming and friendly. The place itself is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made our nights really restful. The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and nicely furnished. We enjoyed exploring the walks around the area and Thaxted’s restaurants, like The Star and The Maypole, are definitely worth a visit. Overall, we’d happily recommend this spot!

We loved the cosy cottage, perfect for a peaceful escape. The hot tub was a real treat! Just a heads-up about the night-time planes from Stanstead, but it didn't bother us.

We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us with everything. The cottage itself is adorable, with its charming half-timbered style and a really powerful shower. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel like a home away from home. Parking right outside was a real bonus and the place was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed some great walks nearby through the fields to Thaxted - definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage nestled on a working farm, yet it feels surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely folks who made us feel welcome. The place itself is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed is incredibly comfy. The secluded garden is dog-proof and has nice furniture to relax on. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s eateries like The Star and The Maypole are worth a visit. We’d definitely recommend it!

We had a really nice stay at Pine Lodge. The place was spacious, spotless and felt very private - perfect for unwinding. The views from the deck were stunning and it’s in a peaceful, rural spot, so super quiet. The kitchen was well-equipped, which was handy. Oh and we brought our own bath robes for the hot tub. Just watch out for those big potholes on the drive, especially at night!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was spotless and well maintained and the beautiful scenery made it even better. No wifi didn’t bother us since the area’s still being developed, which adds to its charm. We’ll definitely return!

We stayed at this place during a rainy December and honestly, it was perfect. The house is super well equipped and felt really cosy, which was much needed. The bath was lovely and the big shower was a bonus! Being on a flight path didn’t bother us at all and it’s in such a quiet spot-ideal for dogs wary of fireworks. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

This place was really lovely! The cottage is super well-kept and has everything you might need. We loved the easy access to dog walks right outside and meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig-so curious! The host was friendly and quick to reply, making our stay smooth. Definitely coming back, great value for money! Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy retreat tucked away in such a peaceful spot. The owners are genuinely friendly and always ready to help, yet they respect your privacy completely. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day-such a great way to unwind! One thing to keep in mind, though, is that the cottage lies directly under Stansted’s flight path, so there can be quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our break at all. Would definitely recommend!
Monica
Very peaceful, found the staff to be very helpful, beautiful surroundings, very clean, will stay again!
Louise
Lovely lodge in the countryside nothing for miles which is nice if you want a relaxing holiday like us. The only thing we would suggest is a shop near by for essentials as the nearest shop is in South Molton Town which is a 15 min drive away but other than that it was a fantastic place. We would definitely go again ?
Emma
We had a great holiday at Romansleigh, the cabin was very clean with everything we needed! The surroundings were so lovely and peaceful!

We had an amazing stay we was in Willow lodge number 8 the view is to die for its breath taking we are a young family in our late 20s we brung our 3 and 2 year old plus 2 dogs we had a lovely 5 days we had bbqs everyday ventured out to a couple different beaches and just fully enjoyed our stay walked the dogs around on site took the kids to a lovely tree house and slide which they enjoyed could do with adding some bits for children as long as there’s stuff for children people would enjoy there selfs more knowing there’s a park on site or swimming pool or just couple extra things but other than that 10/10
Garry
Wonderfull place very quiet and peacefull. A few issues with pot holes on access road.
Danny
What an amazing place to have a relaxing holiday, the location and views were amazing and the staff were very helpful
Natalie
Wonderful modern lodge with great facilities and friendly staff. Would highly recommend and visit again.
Elisha
This was our first time ever staying in a lodge, visiting Devon, it definitely was a dream! Everything about our holiday was amazing, we can’t wait to do it all again next year. The lodge was absolutely perfect for us, the hot tub was like heaven. I’ll be honest, reading some of the reviews and looking at where Romansleigh was, we didn’t have the best expectations but when we got there, that all changed. There’s nothing we could’ve asked for to make this experience any better, thank you!
Della
Lovely lodge with lovely surroundings. The lodge had everything we needed
Paul
Fantastic place to explore dirty Devon Some of the roads are like being on a white knuckle rd ( very narrow) but well worth a visit
Caz
If you like peace and quiet then this is the place. We stayed at chestnut lodge dog friendly, has lots of room and furnishings are lovely. This particular lodge is quite private when you’re in the hot tub unlike others on site which face the road. Plenty of walks at location or I would recommend Staunton Sands huge long beach dog friendly all year. Car park at this beach is car number registration as you enter, you do not pay till you decide to leave. Romansleigh lodges are more suited for couples, if you do have children then I’d take a trip to River Dart county park ( amazing place for kids and grownups) about 50minutes from Romansleigh but well worth the journey. Caroline and maintenance team are superb and professional. I would holiday here again
