We had a fantastic time at this charming cottage! The setting was so peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The hot tub was a real highlight and the place was spotless with all the essentials. Plenty of lovely walks nearby too. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely time staying in the Appledore chalet. Everything was super clean and the bed was so comfy, we slept really well. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking up meals and everyone we met was really friendly. The only downside was the TV; it pixelated quite a bit, which was a bit annoying sometimes. Still, overall a great holiday!

We spent a lovely week here with our two small dogs and they really loved exploring the village of Thaxted and making new furry friends. The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was a definite highlight, especially during those scorching summer days-it was so nice to dip into cool water! The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. Watching the planes land near Stansted was surprisingly enjoyable, adding a bit of entertainment to our evenings. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Hide for a relaxed getaway!

We just got back from a week at Goddards Mead and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage had everything we could think of and the hosts were super friendly. Even on a working farm, it felt peaceful and relaxing, like a little escape. Great stay!

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy spot nestled in a really peaceful, private setting. The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but still maintained that lovely sense of seclusion. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - perfect! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!

The dog walks right outside were a real bonus and we loved meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig. The host was lovely, very responsive and made us feel really welcome. We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable. The place has everything you need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect - right in Essex’s charm-filled countryside. We also enjoyed wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages, soaking up the history and stunning architecture. Would definitely recommend!

We had such a lovely stay at this charming cottage! It’s really well equipped, so we didn’t need to bring anything and we actually overpacked because everything was provided. The welcome pack was super helpful, full of useful info and menus, which made settling in so easy. The little touches for our dogs and us were much appreciated. The enclosed garden was perfect for the pups and the hot tub was just the right touch after a long day. Sharon and RobeRead were quick to respond too. Great break altogether!

We had a lovely stay at this good place! The location is super peaceful and private, yet the owners are really welcoming and nearby if you need anything. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling - perfect for relaxing. Just a heads up, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us after a while, but if you’re sensitive to noise, it’s worth mentioning. Overall, a great place to unwind!

We had a really lovely time! Sharon and Robert were such welcoming hosts and made us feel right at home from the start. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and secure for our dog Archie, which was a huge bonus. The location was perfect - lots of nice walks nearby and charming villages like Thaxted to explore. Honestly, we left feeling totally recharged and relaxed, so it was just what we needed!

We spent a week here in July with our two small dogs and honestly, it was a lovely break. The village of Thaxted is charming and our pups made plenty of new friends while we explored. The cottage itself is quite cosy and the hot tub was a real highlight, especially during the really hot days when the cool water was just perfect. The hosts were genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome, even taking their dogs out to the fields daily. Watching the planes land near Stansted was quite fun too. Definitely a place we’d return to!

We stayed in an 8 berth, 3 bedroom caravan. It was immaculate when we arrived. Also, despite us arriving early we were able to access the caravan straight away which was really nice. My only slight complaint (more of a feedback than complaint), is that a caravan which sleeps up to 8 people needs to have more kitchen utensils and crockery available! There were 7 of us and to cook pasta for dinner, the three small saucepans still weren't enough! Please consider equipping vans with larger capacity reflecting this! The site is on a steep hill, however this WAS mentioned on the website when booking and did not negatively affect us, aside from giving us a bit of a workout! Staff were all friendly especially the pool lifeguards who were really chatty and nice. The swimming pools!!!! Oh the swimming pools!!! The outdoor pool was like being abroad (we were lucky with the weather). I can't recommend it enough. A really nice park and we would definitely visit again and rave to our friends about it. Thank you for a lovely short break! Xx

Single mum 4 kids aged 10 months to 12 years we were luckily enough to be close to the main area and the pool and shop wasn't too far away the park was fab my kids absolutely loved it. The area for the show was pretty small but again kids seemed to enjoy it. Staff were helpful when I needed them and very patient in the arcades waiting for my very indecisive kids choosing their winnings

the lodge was lovely lots of space. helpful that there was a washing machine and dishwasher with 2 small children. lots of space for them to play. wish there had of been a gate on the veranda like some of the others had as our littlest couldn't go outside as he would have fallen down the steps but it was fine.
