We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is charming, with a cosy feel and spotlessly clean spaces. The shower is surprisingly powerful and the bed was super comfy - perfect after a day out walking. Parking right next to the cottage was a huge plus. We enjoyed exploring Thaxted’s pretty streets and windmill, all just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend!

The lodge had a cople of small issues . Position of light switch not at door enterance so when entering at night had to walk acroos room in dark. Out side light not working and to near door know where to put towels or coats. But would still use this lodge again

Date of stay: 21st March 2025
Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite a few minor glitches. The outside light was out and the location of the light switch was a bit awkward-had to feel around in the dark at night. Also, there wasn't a clear spot for towels or coats, but we’d still return to this lodge. Definitely worth a visit!
Emma
Date of stay: 13th March 2025
We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage! The place was spotless and really well stocked, making everything feel so homely. Loads of lovely walking spots just outside the door for the dogs, which they loved. The host was super friendly and quick to reply. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. We’ll definitely return-great value and highly recommended!

We had a fantastic week at the cottage with our two mini dachshunds. They loved exploring the village of Thaxted and making friends with other dogs. The place itself is charming and the hot tub was a real highlight, especially since it was scorchingly hot during our stay. It was great to see the hosts being so friendly and caring; watching their horses being taken out each day was a lovely touch. Being close to Stansted’s flight path was interesting too - we enjoyed watching the planes land. Definitely a place we’d return to!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, nestled privately on a working farm. The owners, Robert and Sharon, were genuinely lovely and welcoming. The place is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, plus a super comfy bed. The garden’s perfect for dogs-completely secluded and furnished nicely. We enjoyed exploring the nearby walks and tried a few restaurants in Thaxted; The Star and The Maypole stood out for us. Overall, we’d definitely recommend it!
Julia
Date of stay: 18th November 2024
We spent a week here in July with our two mini daschunds and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage itself is really charming and the hot tub was such a treat, especially during those scorching days when the water was perfectly cooled. It was great to see the hosts so welcoming and attentive and we enjoyed watching the planes land since it’s near Stansted’s flight path - kinda fun! The dogs loved making new friends in the village of Thaxted and we appreciated how friendly everyone was. Definitely a place we’d come back to!
Emma
Date of stay: 16th November 2024
We stayed at this charming cottage recently and honestly, it had everything we needed - we didn’t have to pack much at all! The owners, Sharon and Rob, really thought of everything, including little extras for our dogs, which was a lovely touch. The welcome pack was super handy, full of useful info and menus. The enclosed garden was perfect for the pups and the hot tub was a real treat after busy days. We’ll definitely be returning for another relaxing break. Thanks so much!
