Visitor Reviews of Penstowe Park Holiday Lodges

Date of stay: 6th September 2025
Lovely located lodge for peace and relaxation with great views. We had everything we needed and the furnishings were quality and there was some lovely touches. Rug, wall prints etc. check in and out was super clear and simple. Our only suggestion would have been the benefit of an air fryer as having to turn on a large oven for just a small food item seems such a waste and having one at home we've seen the fabulous benefits.

We had a great holiday at the park, lovely place to spend time with loved ones. Cabin was spotless, we had everything we needed. A quiet place with lots of lovely beaches and places to explore, we will definitely be back soon.

Very poor as I’ve said in my review of Penstowe park. We will not be returning as the chalet was not clean and had slugs which we were constantly throwing out most mornings of our week long stay. There were old cobwebs in every room. We also discovered a pair of boys boxer shorts stuffed down the side of one of the single beds. So overall very poor

Looking for a quiet retreat within distance of some of Cornwall's beautiful locations? Then this is is ideal. Not sure I would bring children here though. Just a 10 minute walk away is the New Inn, we ate there both nights and we were not disappointed. Good selection of food, drink and great friendly staff. The place on site didn't do food (apart from some pasties in a heated display unit) when we where there. Accomodation was great for 2 couples, clean and tidy. No wi fi or streaming TV services which didn't bother us but could be a game changer for some. Overall it suited us perfectly and we would come back.

Great accommodation. A good size for up to 4 adults and a dog.Electric meter in the property which you will want to be aware of to top up from “the cabin” by purchasing cards.
Kaya
Date of stay: 23rd April 2025
The apartment was great. Everything you need and I’m certain this one has the best view…, my only suggestion would be is for the double bed to have a panda mattress topper… it would make the bed just that little bit more comfortable… but other than this no complaints at all! Thank you

Date of stay: 29th March 2025
We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is charming, with a cosy feel and spotlessly clean spaces. The shower is surprisingly powerful and the bed was super comfy - perfect after a day out walking. Parking right next to the cottage was a huge plus. We enjoyed exploring Thaxted’s pretty streets and windmill, all just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend!
Paul
Date of stay: 21st March 2025
The lodge had a cople of small issues . Position of light switch not at door enterance so when entering at night had to walk acroos room in dark. Out side light not working and to near door know where to put towels or coats. But would still use this lodge again
Sam
Date of stay: 21st March 2025
Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite a few minor glitches. The outside light was out and the location of the light switch was a bit awkward-had to feel around in the dark at night. Also, there wasn't a clear spot for towels or coats, but we’d still return to this lodge. Definitely worth a visit!

Bed was old soft and lumpy. Duvet was too small to cover 2 people.
Emma
Date of stay: 13th March 2025
We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage! The place was spotless and really well stocked, making everything feel so homely. Loads of lovely walking spots just outside the door for the dogs, which they loved. The host was super friendly and quick to reply. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. We’ll definitely return-great value and highly recommended!
Emma
Date of stay: 6th March 2025
We had a fantastic week at the cottage with our two mini dachshunds. They loved exploring the village of Thaxted and making friends with other dogs. The place itself is charming and the hot tub was a real highlight, especially since it was scorchingly hot during our stay. It was great to see the hosts being so friendly and caring; watching their horses being taken out each day was a lovely touch. Being close to Stansted’s flight path was interesting too - we enjoyed watching the planes land. Definitely a place we’d return to!
Tony

We stayed in Penhalt Cottage which was very, very clean and well appointed easy walking distance to the village of Kilkhampton, would definitely recommend to family and friends. Lovely holiday site. Cannot comment on the on-site restaurant as we never had occasion to use it.
