Cleaning there was cobwebs on the wardrobe runners, dust around door handles and locks.The decking furniture hadn't been cleaned as it took me 2 good attempts to get the dust and muck off. Missing finishing touches Floor board are terrible for creaking and loosening. As soon as 1 person was up the whole lodge was and the patio door very loud also

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put so much effort into converting this historic place and it really shows - it’s got a warm, welcoming vibe. Bonnie was adorable too! The location’s perfect for exploring Essex - we spent ages wandering around Thaxted and other nearby villages. It’s a great spot for a relaxing break and we’d definitely recommend it if you’re into discovering charming old towns and their stories. Definitely a place to visit!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead and were genuinely impressed. The owners, Rob & Sharon, have done a lovely job converting the historic building with care and respect. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex-definitely take a bit of time to wander around Thaxted and the nearby villages; the history and architecture are quite fascinating. It’s a really relaxing spot for sure!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was really well kitted out and super cosy, perfect for the rainy December weather. The bath was a real treat and the shower was great too. Being on a flight path didn’t bother us at all, honestly! Ideal spot for dogs scared of fireworks since it’s so remote. Gorgeous place, nicely converted - we’ll be back for sure! Thanks a lot!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The peaceful countryside setting was just what we needed. The courtyard was lovely and the hot-tub definitely made it feel extra special. Perfect for relaxing walks too!

We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. The closest dog walks are perfect for our little terrier. The host was super friendly and quick to reply, which made everything so smooth. We loved meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig. Can't wait to return - great value all round!

We had an amazing stay at the cottage! The location was perfect-so peaceful and calming. The farm setting was stunning and we loved seeing the horses. The owners were genuinely friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a place we'd recommend for a quiet getaway. Loved it!

We had such a lovely weekend stay here! The place ticked all our boxes and we felt right at home. Our dogs especially adored the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna was wagging her tail non-stop! She even strained it, but the vet says it’s from all the excitement. We’ll definitely come back, it was a great break!

We had a lovely stay and really appreciated how welcoming Sharon and Robert were. The place had everything we needed - super clean, comfy and secure for our dog Archie, which was a big plus. The location was spot on, with loads of walks nearby and charming villages like Thaxted to explore. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed - it was just what we needed for a proper break!
