Visitor Reviews of Newquay Bay Resort

We stayed in this caravan as a family and honestly, it was fantastic. The only thing missing was an iron, but we understood why for safety reasons. Everything else was spot on!

Really impressed with how spotless and welcoming it was inside.

We stayed here with the kids in March and honestly, the location is what won us over. Just a quick 2-minute drive to Porth Beach, which is absolutely stunning! The cliffs around are breathtaking and it’s perfect if you’re into scenic walks. The site itself is a bit rough around the edges, probably because it’s off-season, but that didn’t bother us too much. The best part? The peaceful nights. Seriously, it’s so quiet-no late-night noise, just pure peace, which we really appreciated after busy days. When we arrived, the receptionist was super friendly and gave us directions to our caravan. The instructions were a little brief, so we had some trouble finding it since we couldn’t park right next to it. That was a bit of a hassle, especially with all our stuff. We hate carrying everything in multiple trips! The onsite shop was closed, which was a shame because we needed a few bits, but we understood it’s off-season. We did notice quite a few workmen around, probably because of ongoing work in the area and some of them weren’t exactly sticking to the speed limit. We saw a red transit whizzing past us as we were leaving on Wednesday morning-he looked like he was late for work! Our caravan was basic but clean, thanks to Michelle. It was a cheap stay, but it was still comfy and had good bedding. The pool was closed on the Sunday due to staff sickness, which was a bit disappointing, but we knew it was limited opening hours anyway-only open Thur to Sun. The bar and arcade were only open until Thursday, so not much happening in the evenings. Overall, the place is a bit scruffy, probably because of the season, but we’d probably visit again in the summer when everything’s more lively. The only thing we’d change? Parking outside the caravan would be a big plus. Still, the peace at night was worth a star on its own-no noise, just absolute silence, which we loved!

Really pleased with the caravan, it’s super comfy and well situated.

Date of stay: 27th December 2023
Honestly, our stay was pretty disappointing. The caravan was filthy and not as pictured, which was a letdown. We also noticed some residents on site selling drugs, which made us uneasy. We couldn’t sleep at all, especially with a kid on his birthday. Ended up leaving early, very upset.

We spent a week in December at this lovely caravan. It was super cosy and had all the essentials we needed. The location was perfect - just a short walk to Porth beach and some gorgeous walks nearby. Easy drive to Newquay and the train options are handy if you want a cheap way to explore. We didn’t try the onsite facilities, so can’t say much about those.

Date of stay: 21st November 2023
The toilet seat was a bit loose and kept sliding and the second bedroom felt a bit cramped, but overall, very clean and comfy. Definitely worth a stay!

We had a fantastic holiday, everyone loved it, no issues at all.

Date of stay: 6th June 2023
We had a fantastic stay at the holiday park during the May bank holiday. The caravan was modern, spotless and well-equipped. The mattresses were so comfy, honestly better than ours at home! We’d definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Date of stay: 4th June 2023
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. No Wi-Fi or signal at the caravan was frustrating. Paying extra for towels felt unfair and the oven was so slow! Parking was a nightmare too.
Alex, Cannock
The caravans are stunningly modern, honestly some of the best I've experienced.
James, Southampton
Great little place, perfect for a small family getaway!
James, Telford
Really comfy stay, everything was spotless and well looked after.
Rebecca, Newton Abbot Devon
We had a lovely stay here! The caravan was spotless and really well cared for, shiny and inviting. The whole site looked after, with nice pools and a friendly vibe from the staff. Only tiny gripe was the outside windows, which could do with a clean due to seagull poo. Can't wait to return!
Emma, Gb
Absolutely loved the stunning scenery! Cornwall truly is a special place to visit.
George, Wakefield
The caravan was really nice-spotlessly clean and super comfy. The welcome pack was a lovely touch too. Only thing is, the mattresses are a bit bouncy like all caravans, but overall, great stay!
Emma, Cirencester
We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect and the caravan was spotless and comfy. Little touches like the dish washing and bathroom packs made all the difference. Reception staff were lovely too!
Sam
We had an amazing weekend here! The place really ticked all the boxes for us and we’re already planning our next visit. The garden was perfect for our dogs and they had a blast. Luna especially loved the underfloor heating, though she came back with a strained tail - apparently wagging it too much! Happy pups, happy us!
Oliver
The cottage was lovely and peaceful, perfect for us. The hot tub was a bonus! Owners were super helpful but not intrusive at all. Just right, really!
Emma
We had an amazing stay at this cottage! The place is so well looked after and fully equipped - made our trip super easy. The dog walks right outside were a big plus and meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. The host was lovely and very responsive. We’ll definitely return - great value for money!
Sophie
We loved this place! Super comfy, spotless, well-equipped and the hot tub was just the best.
James
We stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and it was surprisingly private. Robert and Sharon, the owners, are such lovely people-really friendly. The place itself is huge, with a well-stocked kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs, super secluded and has nice furniture for relaxing outside. There are loads of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Definitely recommend!
Emma
We had a lovely time staying here! Sharon and Robert really went out of their way to make us feel at home, which we appreciated a lot. The place had everything we needed - cosy, spotless and safe for our dog Archie. The location was perfect for walks and visiting Thaxted and nearby villages was a real treat. Honestly, we left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Would definitely recommend!
Emily
We recently spent a week here with our two mini daschund girls and it was such a lovely stay. The cottage itself is really charming, especially with the hot tub which was a real treat, especially during those scorching days when the water was cool enough to refresh us. The hosts were genuinely friendly and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily. Being close to Stansted's flight path added a bit of excitement, watching the planes come in. We’d definitely recommend Hide for a relaxing getaway!
Harriet
The place was really peaceful and perfect for our dogs, with a fully enclosed garden. Loved it!
Emma
We loved staying at this charming cottage! The peaceful setting was just what we needed to unwind. The hot tub was a real highlight and the place was spotless with all essentials. Plenty of lovely walks nearby. Honestly, we had a fantastic time! Highly recommend.
Emily
We had a fantastic weekend here, totally relaxing and just what we needed for our anniversary. Highly recommend!
Emma
Really enjoyed our time here, the place was spotless and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a bonus!
Alex
Really enjoyed the calm vibe here, the Jacuzzi was a highlight!
James
We needed a proper dog walking getaway and this place ticked all the boxes. Lovely cosy accommodation, scenic walks just outside and easy access to pubs and eateries. The dog didn’t want to leave, honestly! Would come again.
Sally
Wow what an amazing holiday we had, from the minute we stepped out of the car it was perfect, the lady in reception was lovely, the caravan was spotless, really couldn't find anything to fault it
Ruth
Ecxellent site.
Joanne
Beautiful resort! Caravan clean, well looked after. Facilities excellent. Bar pricey - perhaps to be expected. Entertainment team were amazing - particularly Jade and Beth...nothing was too much trouble and genuinely lovely people.
Louise
The 2 bed caravan was very clean and comfortable. The area was quiet. The indoor heated swimming pool was a good size and we enjoyed that facility and a small playground. Good location to explore - good value.
Michelle
Was a lovely holiday site. Only downfall was absolutely no signal in the caravan had to go to the reception or club to get WiFi.
William
Excellent site, very quiet, clean, staff only too willing to help, would definitely go again.
MB
Wonderful stay will definitely come back ! Wonderful caravan
Jane
Fabulous holiday, fabulous caravan, staff friendly polite and helpful, recommend
