Castle Brake is a beautiful place to stay.I'd say that it is a more grown up site, but for the younger kids, they do allow free use of the sister site, Ladram.Let's get one little thing out of the way. It is a static caravan that probably 100's of people have used before you. So there is some wear and tear, kitchen knifes are a little blunt, pans are a little scratched up, etc. But that will certainly be the case at any of these places. Anyway, the staff were very friendly, and very helpful. Even when reception was closed, we found the staff in the Castle Inn just as helpful. The site itself is lovely, it's very quiet and peaceful too. Nestled in a pocket of woodland, it has some lovely walks right from the site, and even more just a quick trip away.We were able to check in a touch early, without issue. The caravan was very clean and tidy. There was plenty of seating inside, with a load outside too with a spare couple of chairs for either in the cupboard. The kitchen was well equipped and I didn't find that I missed anything from home. Our caravan had an iron and board. There was even a vacuum cleaner in one of the cupboards. Very handy with a toddler. They do have a Games Room, which is fine, but we didn't use it. There is also a kids park on site, but again, we didn't have the opportunity to find or use that. We are planning a visit to Devon again next year and we Castle Brake is on the list second only to Ladram Bay, their sister site.

Expensive but somewhat good for value.

A beautiful site with something for everyone. An easy 10mins drive down to their sister site for the pool and some louder entertainment, but Castle Brake caravan park, hosting Woodbury woods Hoseasons, is just wonderful. Hot tub checked every day and was emptied and refilled before we arrived and after the booking before us. Accommodation was clean, spacious, great pressure in the shower, had most things you need in the kitchen (depends what you’re used to!). We were in a premier plus. Took my elderly mum with us and she managed everything very well with some limited mobility. Bedrooms and linen/bedding was in excellent condition, as was the rest of the furnishings. *Take extra tea towels, hand towels for bathroom, hand soap and washing up liquid. Unless you book extras. The friendliest and loveliest of staff on reception and around the site. Shop offers essentials and plenty of treats too. Pub/restaurant onsite has a good menu and was in use most days. Clean, tidy, beautiful walks, brilliant access to nearby beaches and other things to do.

Super location, fantastic staff very welcoming , perfect for a nice relaxing break , great dog walks and located close to local towns and beaches I would highly recommend.

Completely basic/dirty accommodation. Nothing luxury about it.

Nice clean and tidy parkBut not that nice out look, hot tub not hot but worm set to 35 degrees could not alter temp. No complementary packets of tea,sugar and coffee no little bar's of hand soapAnd £45 for towls, a pack consisted of one hand towl and one bath towl.It felt like they were trying to save money in every little way possible.Have been to better places for around the same budget.

Very reasonably priced for such a lovely stay

We really enjoyed our stay in the caravan, especially the hot tub which was a lovely touch! The place was generally tidy and comfortable. However, we did notice a safety issue early on - a loose TV aerial cable running outside through a window, leaving it unsecured. It wasn’t sorted during our visit, which was a bit disappointing, especially since it’s meant to be family and pet friendly. Still, we had a good time overall!

Really enjoyed the experience, can't wait to visit again.

We loved the location - it’s stunning and really peaceful. The accommodation was spotless, comfy and had everything we needed. The site itself is pretty basic in terms of facilities, but honestly, for what we wanted, it was perfect. Ladrum Bay, just a quick drive, has all the usual stuff if you need it and residents can use it too. We’re already thinking about booking again - it made our honeymoon really special!

Nice place overall, though a coffee table in the lounge would have been handy. Staff were friendly and the views lovely.

We often had to dine out because our kitchen wasn't set up, so finding this restaurant was a real lifesaver. The staff were genuinely lovely, super welcoming and the location was just so peaceful. Definitely a highlight!

We had a lovely four-night stay at Woodbury Woods. The place is so peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing. The location is spot on too, with easy drives to Topsham, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Sidmouth. The van was spotless-almost lookin’ br and new! The staff were super friendly and really helpful. We enjoyed a drink and takeaway from the onsite bar/restaurant, which was a nice touch. Definitely planning to return, especially to see the breathtaking views at nearby Estuary View. Great holiday overall!

Had a lovely stay with my family and friends, really enjoyed the place. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer than just three nights!

We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was super cosy and the hot tub was a real treat. Everyone really enjoyed it and we’re already planning our next visit.

Really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere here.

Honestly, it’s a bit pricey for what you get. We couldn’t use the sister site because of the pool situation-definitely not ideal for older kids unless you go somewhere else. Would’ve been better without all the covid restrictions, but still nice to get away and soak up some sun.

Amazing weather, great accommodation, very clean, helpful staff nothing too much trouble, location good,easy to travel to other places,a good base,supermarket not far, but great shop on site with all your needs.

Great lodge on a lovely setting

What a fantastic week away. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The castle point accommodation was outstanding and we all loved the hot tub and the kids enjoyed the park onsite. We ate in the restaurant twice and the quality of the food was second to none Would highly recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely stay and can't wait to come back .

Woodbury Wods provided everything we wanted for our 4 night break - site is very quiet/clean and location is ideal to visit Topsham, Exmouth, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton etc etc.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was very dog friendly and very clean. The hot tub was amazing and well looked after by the staff.

Lodge was very clean, fantastic views across the estuary. Would recommend Woodbury woods for a peaceful getaway. The lodge was a short drive to many different attractions, the hot tub was a bonus after a busy day exploring the area, it was checked twice a day once in the morning and again later in the day, staff are very welcoming, we would love to return in the future.
