Visitor Reviews of Looe Bay

James
Date of stay: 9th November 2024
Honestly, our trip was pretty disappointing from the start. Before we'd even arrived, there were issues, which should’ve been a red flag. When we finally got there, the path to the caravan was a complete mudpit - not ideal with a toddler and someone less mobile. I asked if we could get some shovels to clear it or some help, but all we got was told it’s the weather, tough luck. It felt kinda neglectful, especially since it was a health and safety concern. Throughout our stay, the staff were pretty unhelpful and even rude at times, which was surprising. Maybe it’s just the end of season, but their service was really poor. The caravan itself was falling apart - the sofa sides were coming off, so we couldn’t even sit on them properly. Honestly, we won’t be coming back. The location was nice, but the experience was just terrible overall. We were glad to leave and won’t recommend it to anyone.

The caravan was spotlessly clean and really comfortable. Loved having two toilets and it was a big plus being able to park right beside the van. Definitely a good stay!

Great value, friendly staff, convenient location

Date of stay: 9th October 2024
Unfortunately, the caravan didn’t match the photos and we found mould in the bedrooms. It was quite disappointing, honestly. The overall condition was not what we expected at all, which was a letdown during our trip. We were really hoping for a nice stay, but it just didn’t live up to the photos or our expectations. Wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.

Great spot, rooms are comfy but prices are steep.

The caravan was pretty clean once we arrived and the layout really suited us. Staff were lovely and friendly, making the stay quite enjoyable overall.

Date of stay: 28th August 2024
Honestly, the caravan felt pretty outdated and had a strong dog smell, which was a real turn-off. We bought air freshener just to cope. The shower was disappointing too. The only highlight was watching our son enjoy a couple of pool activities. Staff were lovely, but we won’t be coming back.

Date of stay: 27th August 2024
We expected a budget caravan, so it wasn’t perfect, a bit older and a tad worn around the edges. But it was tidy, had all we needed and was surprisingly comfy for what it was.

Not what we expected at all

We’ve visited three times now and absolutely adore Looe. Can't wait to return next year!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 8th August 2024
Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. The place needed some serious updating. The main bedroom floor was soaked, so we had to use towels just to walk. Lounge upholstery and carpets looked really stained and dirty, which was a bit off-putting. Not what we expected.
Emma
Date of stay: 22nd July 2024
The shower was pretty grimy around the controls and the blind had noticeable mould spots. There were also crumbs and biscuits on the floor, which was a bit off-putting.
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 25th June 2024
We picked this place mainly because of its great location near Looe, which is absolutely stunning. The park itself could use a bit of sprucing up and our caravan was pretty basic - definitely needed a good clean. The food and drinks on site seemed a bit pricey too. But honestly, our son had a fantastic time enjoying the evening entertainment and for a budget holiday, it was quite alright!
Emma
Date of stay: 20th June 2024
We recently had a lovely stay at Looe Bay, in one of their cosy caravans and honestly, we loved every minute of it. From the moment we arrived, the stunning scenery caught our breath and the staff’s friendliness made us feel right at home. The caravan was spotless and had everything we needed - it was like a home away from home, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We especially enjoyed the comfy living space and the kitchen, which had all the essentials. The location is fantastic; we spent ages wandering around Looe, exploring its charming shops, beautiful beaches and some cracking seafood spots. The coastal walks were absolutely breathtaking and being so close to nature was a real highlight. Overall, our holiday was brilliant, thanks to the peaceful surroundings, comfy accommodation and great facilities. We’re already planning to come back and would totally recommend Looe Bay if you’re after a peaceful getaway with loads to see and do!

Really enjoyed the stay, the sea view was definitely a bonus.

Date of stay: 12th June 2024
We recently stayed at the Callington and honestly, it was a great experience. The place was spotless, which is always a good start! The caravan felt spacious enough for us, with a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy dining area. The two toilets were super clean and the shower was a decent size and sparkling clean too. The bedrooms had comfy beds with fresh linens, though they are a bit cosy - but that’s pretty normal in caravans, right? We didn’t need the heating, but the hot water was instant, which was handy. The smart TV works fine-just remember to use your own data, but you can still watch terrestrial channels. Outside, there’s a raised decking area, perfect for sunny days. We’d definitely come back, thanks for a lovely stay at Looe Bay!

Really enjoyed the experience overall, but it would be perfect if there were proper chairs instead of stools.

Not impressed, especially with the poor weather conditions.
Emma
Date of stay: 27th March 2024
We decided not to even step inside the caravan because the mud was just horrendous and it looked so unclean. While we were at reception booking in, we overheard others talking about how dirty the furniture was. Seems like some folks just stay because they don't have many options, which is a shame.
Emma T.
Date of stay: 24th March 2024
We felt so at ease at The Duchy, honestly! The bed was insanely comfy-probably the best sleep away from home we've had. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a whisk for perfect pancakes. Loved it!
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 21st February 2024
We found the van quite average overall. It looked a bit worn out in parts - some lights didn’t work and there was a leaking sink, plus a patch in the wall that had been patched up. It was comfy enough, but definitely needed a proper clean; it was quite grubby, like it had just been quickly wiped. The kitchen floor was muddy from outside and there weren’t any mops or mats, which didn’t help. Could be better.

We’ve been visiting this place for the past two years and plan to go again next year. It’s great!

We have had lovely holidays and were pleasently surprised by the location and facilities. Calm quite remote and beautiful place tucked away from hustle and bustle.
Elizabeth
Had a beautiful holiday had 2 caravans for our family requested next door to each other that didn’t happen but not to far away even though booked 1 year in advance swimming pool disappointing indoors and not open for longer by the time we came back from the beach it was closed and our 8 year old wasn’t happy but apart from that all good
Michelle
Loved our family holiday. Highly recommended this site. Was great for the dog and very welcoming. Staff great. X
