Holywell Bay

South West Of England » Holywell Bay, Newquay
View Accommodations

Set in a lush green valley surrounded by National Trust land just a short walk from the magnificent sandy beach of Holywell Bay and its famous Gull Rocks this beautifully situated park is only 7 miles from Newquay.

Among the fantastic facilities on offer are an outdoor heated swimming pool with a 300ft waterslide, Toddlers’ Paddling Pool, Adventure Play Area and Indoor Tots Ball Pool. There;s also a separate playground for the under 5s.

Under 10s are kept entertained at the exciting Star Landers Kids' Club where they can learn new skills, make friends and try out different activities. Once the sun goes down there's family entertainment on offer in the Entertainment Venue or you can simply sit back relax and enjoy a quiet drink in the bar.  If you like to eat out as a family then you'll love the Ellenglaze Bar and Grill with outdoor patio.  New in 2011 this lovely restaurant is ideal for families looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a meal and a few drinks together.

There are some superb days out in this area including Minature Park in Truro.  Here you can visit the Landmark Gardens, Goony Farm and The Dinosaur Trail which will delight children.  If you like splashing around in the pool then head for Ships and Castles Leisure Pool in Falmouth where you can experience the wave machine and an exciting river ride.

Accommodation is in well equipped caravans and you can also stay in a bungalow if you prefer.  We love the Porthtowan Caravan which was new in 2011.  Sleeping 6 in total this caravan provides a comfortable base for your stay and includes heating in the bedrooms and heated towel rail in the bathroom.  The 12ft Trevose Caravan is excellent value for money and sleeps up to 8.  Another option which won't break the bank is the Holywell Bungalow.  With a double and a twin bedroom this makes a great value base for your stay.  For larger groups and families there are a selection of caravans sleeping up to 8.  These incude the Hayle and the Trewan Caravans which are both 12ft wide and offer plenty of space.

  • Outdoor heated pool with waterslide
  • Beaches nearby
  • Great base for exploring

This was a great week away with my 2 year old. However we wont be coming back id have been really upset if i spent more then i did. The site is very very small would be very boring if you dont drive to visit surrounding areas. The entertainment was the same every night the soft play doesnt even have a ballpit. All just basic.

Date of stay: 12th May 2017
Only issue was nowhere in the shower for shampoo, shower gel bottles etc so my 83 year old father struggled until we brought a small rack to hang so he didn't have to bend to the floor of the shower for his bottles.
Beds were comfy and plenty of space to sit and relax.

Great bungalow. Super roomy bedrooms and comfy beds with plenty storage. Very clean. Bathroom heater wasn't working. Hoover was available however it didn't work. Had to complain about loose floor beading but the staff sorted it amazingly fast we was impressed with service. Could do with better cooking pots and pans as cooking was a challenge ! Overall very impressed
Zena, Bournemouth
Date of stay: 28th September 2015
This is the second time we have stayed at Holywell bay and it was just as pleasant as the first time, they would have got 10/10 if it wasn't for the loud noise from the club house that goes on
until midnight, it makes it worse as it is a beautiful peaceful location, staff are always very helpful and on site shop is well stocked. The beach is a must see!
Andrew, Droitwich
Date of stay: 26th September 2015
The Damelza caravan was very spacious with good condition fixtures and fittings, its 12 foot wide which gives you the extra space and all 3 bedrooms were all in good condition with little sign of ware. There was no sign of pets or smoking in this caravan and smelt very clean, the beds were comfortable and were made up on arrival, I would recommend this van for families as it has ample space for up to 8, the only down point was its location next to the club as the music is loud if you are trying to get kids to sleep.
Rowland, Reading
Date of stay: 22nd August 2015
Entertainment is amateur and very boring for adults. Great for children.
David, Nottingham
Date of stay: 18th July 2015
Caravan was very clean and well equiped. Beds were comfy, which is unfortunately not always the case in our experience on caravan parks. Plenty of car parking space, which was useful as we had other family members visit over the course of the holiday. Good TV picture/signal, which was appreciated as the Tour de France was on!
Diane, Nottingham
Date of stay: 11th July 2015

Carole, Banbury
Date of stay: 3rd July 2015

Date of stay: 11th April 2015
Fantastic location close to lovely beach. A great site for small children. Two great pubs within walking distance even for small children.
Jenny, Greater Manchester
Date of stay: 11th April 2015
A nice caravan but not much storage space for 7 people.
On first glance the van appeared clean & tidy but 2 days into our holiday we found 8 dead bluebottles down behind the cushions in the lounge area, where the double bed pulls down! Now it was only Easter and there were no bluebottles about! I can only surmise that they had been there since last year!!
The shower could do with altering if possible! We were practically touching the wall in the shower cubicle to get wet!
That said, still a good holiday although rather expensive!
Emma, Torquay
Date of stay: 10th April 2015
A lovely caravan in a superb spot with no issues.
David, Dudley
Date of stay: 10th April 2015
Caravan was very comfortable. A few problems door handles coming off but apart from that all ok.
Emma, Bristol
Date of stay: 3rd April 2015
The caravan was spot on! We went in early April so needed the heating which was really quick at warming up the van. The shower was hot and powerful which was nice. The only issue was outside was not paved at all so we had to cross the wet muddy grass to get to the door which wasn't ideal in the wet weather.
Steve, Northampton
Date of stay: 1st November 2014
It was a wonderful week, we did have a couple of run-ins with the flies that infest the site, but these were dealt with on the first day. (we aren't joking; the caravans are regularly visited by flies which breed in the soil underneath) We did have a 6 berth, originally booked for 5 and had one person opt out late on - which was a good thing as a family of 5 in a 6 berth would have been a real squeeze. As it turned out, the children got a room each which was a bog help. Kitchen and lounge area well appointed, comfy. Bedrooms adequate and warm.
Julia, Worcs
Date of stay: 3rd October 2014
Caravan was good in size & plenty of utensils ie crockery, cutlery etc but a little let down by cleanliness. Patio furniture was dodgy, Windows inside & out were not clean (like looking through a thick fog) & dining chairs & lounge carpet quite stained in several places. Nothing that can't be put right with good, deep clean. Staff on site were helpful.
John, Swindon
Date of stay: 8th September 2014
It was fabulous...
Graham, Gloucester
Date of stay: 1st September 2014
New perranporth caravans are in good order and well equipped. However, they is very little space between each van, felt a bit like a sardine. The club and entertainment are as expected from this type of park, the children enjoyed it, not my cup of tea! Play parks are adequate but pool slide was out of action during our visit. Proximity to the beach is excellent and a truly beautiful beach too. Thatched pub just a bit down the road was well worth a visit. This park is cheap and cheerful but not sure i would bother going back (the beach has a car park).
Sharon, Manchester
Date of stay: 25th July 2014

Date of stay: 25th June 2014
we had the most amazing holiday at holywell bay holiday park, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, we have been home just over a week and wishing we were back there. It was my sons birthday while we were at holywell bay and i have to thank paula as she arranged for sid the resident seagull to come to our caravan and wish him happy birthday.I was worried at first as i had read a few reviews that wern,t very good so we didn,t know what to expect, but i can say not to take any notice as holywell bay and the staff and accommodation was fantastic and we are so looking forward to our next holiday at holywell bay holiday park. Thank you so much for making our holiday so memorable.
Graham, Essex
Date of stay: 13th June 2014
The facilities was that bad we left two days early. Food in the Bar on site was terrible. Not really family friendly as a lot of load music at night and drunk youngsters running around until gone 2am, and they were the staff.
Lyndz, Plymouth
Date of stay: 23rd May 2014
There were a few ants in kitchen, but at the time of year we went I suppose there difficult to get rid of.
We never made it on the water slide as this seemed to be shut every time we tried. Seems very strange to only open it on the hour as the pool was open all day.
Hayley one of the reps was fantastic. My son was the only child to show up for the kids entertainment one morning and she spent an hour with him doing various activities.
The park is a short walk away from one of the best beaches in the area and as it's off the beaten track i'd imagine it doesn't get cramped.
Would defiently come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Holywell Bay Holiday Park. The only complaints we have , was that we booked with the view that the kids would be able to use the onsite slide. But when we found it, the slide obviously hadn't been on for sometime,as the water appeared to be green. Also we didn't sleep very well because of the location in which the caravan was situated right near the main entrance/exit to the park.It was especially noisy from people coming and going all hours of the night after clubbing etc and early morning when the surfers arrived.

This is not usually our kind of holiday, but it was great! The staff were lovely and helpful and I can't praise Ash and Kirstie enough for entertaining our son and the other children. They were amazing. Will definitely be returning - in fact we have rebooked for two weeks in Easter 😊
