Challaborough Bay

Our accomodation was both comfortable and clean.

The place was stunning, super clean and really well kitted out. We had such a lovely time!

The cottage was simply lovely, nestled in a perfect, peaceful spot. The scenery around the farm was stunning - we even got to see some horses, which was a real treat. The owners were super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right. Honestly, wed definitely come back for a quiet getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The owners were genuinely lovely and made us feel so welcome. Brilliant trip!

We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels so private. Robert and Sharon are just the nicest hosts, really friendly and welcoming. The place is super spacious, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed was incredibly comfy-had some of the best sleep ever! The gardens perfect for dogs, totally secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. Wed definitely recommend it!

Really enjoyed the trip, definitely worth it!

We loved our stay! Sharon and Robert really go the extra mile to make everything just right. The place is perfect for a peaceful escape. Even on our second visit, we're already planning to come back again soon!

The cottage was really lovely and perfect for a peaceful getaway. Just a heads up, planes can be a bit noisy at night since it's close to Stanstead. Hot tub was a highlight!

I would recommend ocean view cottage for the view but except mattress was terrible every morning I felt my back painful.

Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan was spotless, in a perfect spot and the second toilet was handy!

The staff really made our stay enjoyable and the location was perfect too.

The cottage was lovely and the owners really made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

We booked for a dog walking break and honestly, it was exactly what we needed. Lovely quality place, with pubs and eateries just a short stroll. Fields and off-road walks were perfect for the dog too. Would definitely return!

We had a fantastic time at this cottage! The place is super well-kept and fully equipped, making our stay really comfortable. Loved the dog-friendly walks right outside the door and meeting Penelope the pig was a cute highlight. The host was lovely and quick to respond. Definitely coming back - such great value and a perfect getaway for us and the pups!

We loved the stunning place, super tidy and comfy. The hot tub was definitely the highlight! Fabulous stay.

The van was very good and clean except around the cooker area and some of the plastic cups very greasey, easy to miss, but everywhere else perfect.

The van was spotless overall, just a bit greasy around the cooker and some plastic cups. Easy to overlook, but everything else was pretty much flawless. Would rent again!

Really loved our time at Goddards Mead! The cottage was just perfect in every aspect. Well definitely return soon.

Brilliant quiet holiday in a fabulous setting

Excellent location,we had a throughly enjoyable holiday. We would definitely come here again.

Childrens entertainment was not on when we went to see it, however staff were friendly throughout holiday. Used the pool, which was simple but a good temperature. Hot tub was cold. Spent most of our time on the beach. My son loved boating. Had a lovely time.

A wonderful location. A clean, safe beach with gently shelving sand making it ideal for kids - the small stream trickling down the sand meant hours of fun. Great rock pools at low tide & kayak, paddleboards etc for hire.
Our caravan was clean, well-maintained and well equipped. Hilltop location meant a short walk down the hill, but the out-of-the-way location meant peaceful surroundings.
The indoor swimming pool was excellent, friendly, professional staff greeted us & it was clean & well maintained, with family-friendly changing.
Due to the perfect weather, we spent every day on the beach & didn't venture far, apart from the short cliff walk over to Bigbury Beach / Burgh Island - a "must" for all holidaymakers.
The only (minor) issue are the VERY narrow access roads, but most people are patient, take their turn at reversing / pulling in to passing places & we only used it to come in & out from the holiday. A good well-stocked supermarket on site meant we didn't want for anything. we didn't use the food outlets on site, so can't comment (but they were busy)

We booked last minute for a dog friendly caravan so we weren’t expecting the highest standard, we were pleasantly surprised! Lovely caravan (Cormorant) in a great location (Seashore), washer drier was a bonus and lovely veranda. We didn’t use the restaurant or pool so can’t comment on that but chip shop was lovely and clubhouse clean. We also couldn’t use the beach onsite due to no dogs May- September, this is the only downside I think it’s a big enough beach to offer one area as dog friendly especially as you offer dog friendly caravans! However the beach at Bigbury on Sea has dog friendly areas so we used that. Have read reviews of those complaining about the narrow lane to drive down to the site- you’re in Devon and not London now narrow lanes are everywhere in the countryside just drive slow and be prepared to have to reverse if you meet oncoming traffic. We have a SUV and managed just fine!

We loved it that much that we already booked for next year
