We stayed for a dog walking getaway and it was just what we needed. The place was lovely, with great local pubs and plenty of fields to explore. Honestly, our dog didn’t want to leave at all!

We recently spent a week here with our two little dachshunds and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was such a treat, especially during those scorching days - the cooled water was so refreshing! The hosts were really friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. It was nice to see their horses being taken out to the fields each day. Being close to Stansted’s flight path was actually quite interesting, watching the planes land. We’d definitely recommend Hide for a relaxing stay.

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely and welcoming. The place is surprisingly spacious, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. The bed was super comfy, which is always a plus! The garden’s really peaceful, dog-proof and has comfy furniture for lounging. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are worth a visit. We’d definitely recommend it!

We just got back from a four-night stay at this cottage and honestly, it was fantastic. The owners are really friendly but not intrusive, which was perfect. The big fenced garden was great for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed, from the fully equipped kitchen to the BBQ. The hot tub was a real highlight! We’re already telling friends to check it out and definitely plan to return. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a fantastic weekend stay! The place was just what we needed and we really enjoyed our time here. The garden was perfect for the pups-they had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating. Luna was wagging her tail non-stop and the vet said she’d strained it from all the excitement! Definitely planning to return soon!

Date of stay: 20th March 2024
We really enjoyed our holiday here! The villa matched the brochure's description, though a fresh coat of paint might be nice someday. The hotel meals were consistently delicious, even if they only offered one menu for the entire stay-bit of a shame. The pool area was spotless and well-kept and each villa having its own parking spot was a real bonus. Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay! The villa matched the brochure perfectly, though a fresh coat of paint wouldn’t hurt. The hotel’s meals were fantastic, even if they only offered one menu for the whole two weeks-bit of a shame. The pool and gardens looked after nicely and having private parking at each villa was a real bonus. All in all, a lovely trip!

Really enjoyed our stay
Emily, Wareham
Date of stay: 1st March 2017
We had a lovely stay at the villa. It’s really well stocked and spotless everywhere. The location is fantastic - just a short walk to the beach, though I’d say the view is more of a glimpse of the sea rather than a full-on beach vista. The TV and DVD players in each room were handy, but the main lounge TV felt a bit small, especially for family movie nights. Visiting in February, we appreciated how warm the place was; the underfloor heating worked well, though it did take quite a while to heat up or cool down. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and would definitely come back!
