Visitor Reviews of Millendreath Beach Resort

Date of stay: 9th October 2024
Honestly, we weren’t expecting much after seeing the state of the chalet. It’s pretty run-down, with cracked plaster and missing bits near the door. The skirting boards looked really shabby in some areas and the bathroom floor was uneven - not great. Every time we used the toilet or sink, there was this loud noise from underneath and the tap kept running even when turned off. If they invested a bit in fixing up the decor and doing some proper maintenance, it could be a lovely place. Just needs some TLC!

Such a peaceful spot, we loved every moment!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was quite lovely. The place was spotless and very comfy, with a modern white aesthetic that we really appreciated. The floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel bright and airy. Wi-Fi worked fine and the TV was decent enough. The only thing missing was a table and some comfy chairs on the decking - the wooden bench felt a bit out of place. Would definitely come back for the quiet location!

Overall, we enjoyed the stay - the location was great and the villa was spotless with everything we needed. Sadly, we left some stuff behind and couldn't get hold of anyone afterward. Tried calling before cleaning, but no luck. Still, a nice place!

The mattress was stained and cleanliness was a real letdown.

Date of stay: 18th September 2024
We loved the location - just a quick two-minute stroll to the beach! Booking was easy and check-in instructions were clear. The apartment had so much potential, but it wasn’t the cleanest - towels with odd brown stains, greasy plates and a bed that was falling apart. Still, considering the price, it’s not surprising. We’d stay again though!

We found this place to be a decent base for exploring some lovely spots nearby. The chalets were pretty clean and the beds comfy, which was great after long days out. The site itself does look a bit tired and could really do with some upgrades, especially since some of the fuses kept tripping and the WiFi was pretty much non-existent in most chalets. It’s good value in the off season, but we wouldn’t pay the inflated prices during peak times. Still, we’d come back since it’s quiet and suits what we need.

Not worth the price, very disappointing stay. Wouldn't return.

The place was a bit tired, but still okay overall. The shower smell was a bit off, like previous guests mentioned. Guess it’s an ongoing thing.

Date of stay: 31st March 2024
We had a pleasant stay overall. The apartment was tidy and comfy, with some small maintenance bits that didn’t really bother us. The towels and bedding were lovely and fluffy. The welcome pack was a nice touch, though adding salt and pepper could be an improvement. No major complaints!

We booked apartment 5 and honestly, being so close to the beach was a real plus. The place was nice, but a bit more upkeep and cleaning would definitely make it better. Overall, decent stay though!

We stayed here recently and honestly, the place is lovely, especially with the beach just a short walk away. Waking up to the sound of waves from the living room was a real treat. However, there were a few small things that let us down - like some hairs on the floor and a broken cupboard door that should have been fixed beforeh and. The WiFi was pretty slow and the radiator in the front room wasn’t working, which was a bit chilly. What really annoyed us though was finding cigarette ends on the decking, especially since we had our dog with us. We had to spend time cleaning up before we could relax properly. If those issues were sorted, I think this place would definitely deserve a five-star rating!

The place is really tired and not very clean, with dodgy steps that feel unsafe. The car park’s full of holes, which isn’t great. Such a shame because the location has potential but feels really neglected.
Emma Carter
Date of stay: 6th January 2024
We really enjoyed our stay here; the sound of waves was so relaxing. The deck was a bit messy and it’d be great if some basic kitchen supplies like a sponge and dishcloth were provided. No nearby shops for quick essentials either, unfortunately.

Date of stay: 3rd January 2024
Honestly, our stay at Sea Retreat was just okay. The best part was the location - waking up to that beautiful beach view was lovely. Apart from that, though, it was a bit disappointing. The place looked like it needed a proper clean and some TLC, with marks all over the floors and cutlery that wasn’t really clean. From day one, there was a strange smell that didn’t go away. We weren’t told quite how many stairs we’d need to climb to reach the chalet, which was a pain especially with my knee injury. The rain made the stairs super slippery and there were no lights, so it was pretty dangerous when it got dark. Plus, they only provided one toilet roll for four days and there was no kitchen roll, sponge, or washing up liquid. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it or stay again. Just didn’t quite meet expectations, unfortunately.

The drainage was so poorly kept, it groaned every time we used the taps or bath. The plug was broken too.
Emma
Date of stay: 13th November 2023
The bed was a bit wobbly, but they sorted it out quickly. Furniture's a bit tired though.

Date of stay: 1st November 2023
We stayed here since it was self-catering. The place was spotless and the bed was comfy. However, the saucepans and frying pan really need replacing. Would stay again!
Oliver
We had a fantastic weekend here! The place really ticked all the boxes for us and we’re already planning our return trip. Our dogs had a brilliant time, especially with the underfloor heating and running around in the garden. Luna was wagging her tail non-stop, she was so happy! Great spot, highly recommend for a relaxing break with your furry friends.
Oliver
The place is lovely, really quiet and away from the busy streets, which we loved. The hot tub was a real treat. Owners were super helpful without being intrusive at all. They’ve got it just right!
Emma Carter
We had an amazing time at this cosy cottage! The location is brilliant, with loads of walks for the dogs right outside the door. The host was super friendly and kept good communication throughout. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a lovely touch. It’s a perfect little escape and we’ll definitely return. Great value!
James
We had a lovely stay at this cottage, set on a working farm but surprisingly private. Robert and Sharon were such friendly hosts, making us feel welcome from the start. The place itself is really spacious and well-equipped, especially the kitchen and bathroom, which made cooking and relaxing easy. The bed was super comfy too! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. There’s plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed trying out some local restaurants like The Star and The Maypole - definitely recommend it!
