Great weeks stay in this lodge, would recommend and would come back again.Location is good - found lots to do in the week we stayed (Conkers, Splash Landings, Twycross Zoo, Burton upon Trent (shopping), Ashby de la Zouch town centre. Lots of local (good) parks for our children. The only negative was our washing machine was broken so we were unable to use this, however staff were helpful and washed some clothes for us when asked.

The area was quiet and close to shops supermarkets 10 min drive away, Check in / out was poor as they take £150 on a credit card and its been four days and still not refunded. checkout 9am poor. The lodge is in need of renovation, the decking area is rotten in areas and worn and very poor condition, the hot tub didn't work properly and is showing signs of age and rust, although it was checked daily by the staff early mornings to be fair. Inside area, The bushes by the decking were over grown and had wasps nest which was a problem. The bedroom areas were ok however the main bedroom ensuite fan could be used as it had a loud screeching noise. Flooring in the bedroom was loose by the windows. the guest bathroom showing signs of wear and tear and leaks. I would not recommend staying in this lodge or park as just badly dated and in need of repairs. We were disappointed in the standard.

Only bad point … no gate across the outside steps . So the dog could be let out to walk about the veranda without being able to get out. That’s my only main thing. If you get a gate fitted we will definitely be back .

Will not stay any more. Lodges are tired and need an over hall and a deep clean throughout.

Great lodge very clean and very spacious. All you need for a bit of self sufficiency. Showers need attention. En suite had real hair trigger control between decent heat and almost scalding. Bathroom one the handset constantly slides down the rising rail.1 already broken dining chair which we tried to report the office but always closed when we went. In the end, wifey phoned and reported it to the maintenance manager.Minor issues at the end of the day.

Great lodge, bigger than most of the modern lodges as seems to be an older luxury lodge. Very clean, even being a pet friendly lodge and dog seemed to like. Hot tube wasn’t the most powerful of jets but definitely did the job. Mater bedroom ensuite had a sewage smell and had to keep bathroom door shut with window open. Good family space for rainy days in and meals around the table. Space for two cars

Booked here for 4 nights. Very nice place plenty of space. Jacuzzi had a broken main switch which we told it will be fixed. Overall nice and quite place. Easy access to town centre and supermarkets. Very friendly and pilote staff. Thank you we would love to come and stay again.

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The place itself is lovely and has a quirky charm, but some things are a bit odd. They provide an air fryer and one tray, but no oil or foil-stuff you'd expect to be included, but weren’t. We only got one and a half toilet rolls for four of us over the weekend, which was a bit tight. The hot tub was freezing on Friday night, so we couldn’t use it and when we tried to call maintenance, no one answered. Luckily, it warmed up on Saturday, so we got to enjoy it then. Overall, a decent stay, but I’m not rushing back anytime soon.

Lovely lodge, weirdly well equipped with some things but not with other things. Air fryer and one tray provided but no oil or foil provided to use the oven etc - not something we thought to bring. Only given 1 and half toilet rolls for the whole weekend for four people, not ideal. Hot tub on the Friday night was ice cold so unable to use, tried to call maintence number but no answer. Luckily had warmed up the Saturday afternoon so able to use. No one in reception to ask for more toilet roll and didn’t feel warranted calling the maintenance number. Overall a nice stay but not sure I’d rush back!

I would most likely not return to this location. We turned up on the Friday for a long weekend. The hot tub in lodge 10 was not warm and even with calling someone out twice it could not be sorted so we could not use it that night. We tried again the next morning but It was still not up to temperature, also found the dishwasher was broken and there was a stagnant smell coming from the onsuite bathroom. Called staff out again who had a look at all three things, they confirmed they would contact the boss/owner to find out what to do and then they left and we never heard anything else. The staff were very polite and lovely however the facilities were not up to standard and we could barely use the hot tub which was our main reason for going. Would not visit again unfortunately.

Overall, we had a pretty good stay. There were a couple of small issues-like the outside light not working and some dog hairs in the lounge and bedroom-but nothing major. Still, we’d come back!

Worst holiday booked through Hoseasons. I would avoid at all cost! They cancelled our stay on the day we were scheduled to arrive with a pathetic excuse. Managed to find us another lodge, miraculously! Not up to standard of what we usually experience with Hoseasons. Avoid!

Overall, we found it to be quite good value for money. The furniture fittings could do with a bit of a refresh - mainly some painting and updating, rather than the actual use. The beds were comfy, though one in the single room was a little sunken, which was a bit odd. The dining chairs are starting to show their age with damaged leather, so they could do with replacing. We also appreciated having a washer/dryer on site. The TVs in the rooms were a tad small, but we didn't use them much. All in all, pretty decent stay!

Good value for money, furniture fittings do need updating but they are in regards to painting and updating rather than the use of the fittings. Everything was easy to use, beds were comfortable besides 1 bed in the single bed room was sunken a bit. Dining room chairs need replacing as the leather is damaged. Everything else good. I like that there was a washer/dryer as an option, Televisions in room could be a bit bigger, was not used.

We recently stayed at the lodge and honestly, it was quite a mixed bag. On the plus side, the place was warm, comfy and spotless when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, although we did notice a few items hadn’t been washed properly, which was a bit of a letdown. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help us before and during our stay, which made things a lot easier. The hot tub was ready to go right when we arrived, which was a lovely bonus. The lodge itself had a few niggles-some bedside lights weren’t working, the showers leaked quite badly and the freezer looked like it was about to fall out from under the counter! Still, the bed was really comfy and we had a good sleep. We loved the fireplace too. On the second day, the hot tub had a minor issue but it was sorted quickly, so no big deal. The only downside was how close the lodges are-if you’ve got neighbours on both sides, privacy isn’t great, especially with people fishing just beyond your balcony. Also, the 9am checkout felt a bit harsh, especially for a weekend stay; we had to set an alarm just to make sure we left on time. Still, despite those quirks, we had a lovely break and would definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay! The kitchen was well-equipped, with a dishwasher and air fryer which was handy. Just a heads up, don’t forget your washing up liquid, cloths and cooking oil, as we did! Luckily, there are a few shops nearby if you need to pick anything up. The hot tub was fantastic after a long day and they provided robes and towels, which was a nice touch. We managed to check in early since the reception was closed when we arrived-really helpful staff. We also tried Toons Cafe and their breakfasts and homemade cakes are a must! We’d definitely consider coming back next year, especially if we can squeeze in a massage at the spa next time!

All enjoyed our stay but wished the spar had been up and running. Very good location and lodge was very well equipped and clean. Very good value for money.

We had a lovely break the lodge was spotlessly clean lovely soft towels provided, plenty of wardrobe space in both rooms. The beds were comfy. Hot tub checked and cleaned each day. My only negative is the kitchen knives were very blunt so struggled to even slice a tomato but that's the only negative I could state we had a lovely time and would definitely go back again.

My third time here and I absolutely love it!

Beautiful lodge in very peaceful setting. Nice walk along the lake/river. Hot tub was fab. Ian the staff was so helpful. A really lovely break.

This is our second stay at Ashby woulds and we would stay again. The local area is nice with things to do- it’s close enough to town for takeaways or dinner out and the lodges are in a nice private gated park which made us feel safe. It’s very laid back and quiet and the hot tub is lovely!
