A beautiful lodge in a perfect peaceful location

The cottage was perfect for our getaway-quiet enough to relax but still near shops and cafes. The hot tub was a highlight and the underfloor heating kept everything cosy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay soon!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rural setting was stunning and the courtyard with its slate design was lovely. The hot tub was a great luxury, perfect after long walks. Definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! The house is super well equipped and kept us cosy despite the rainy weather. The bath was perfect after a long day and the shower was a great size. Being near a flight path didn’t bother us at all, honestly. It’s a quiet spot, ideal for dogs scared of fireworks. Really lovely place, thanks a lot!

We had such a lovely stay! Christine and Andrew really know how to make you feel at home, with super comfy and spotless lodges. The Retreat was perfect, rain or shine - it didn’t spoil a thing. Loved the laminated guides with local tips, very handy! The hot tub was a highlight and the decor felt boutique-like - really special. Can’t wait to return, honestly. It’s one of the best getaways we’ve had in ages!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. It’s spotlessly clean and super comfy, which made everything feel relaxing. The large deck was a highlight, with nice outdoor furniture and plenty of space for my hammock. The kitchen was well-stocked, perfect for cooking full meals and the dining area was great for meals and games. The bathrooms were modern and had good showers too. We’d definitely come back!

The lodge was really lovely, super clean and fresh, with everything we needed in the cupboards for cooking and cleaning. The toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch and we honestly couldn’t get enough of that stunning view!

We stayed in this spacious lodge with a hot tub, which was lovely and very comfortable. The hot tub’s design was a bit odd, maybe because we're getting older... We do prefer proper seats in our tubs, though!

We recently stayed at Avon Wood and honestly, it was such a lovely experience. The lodge was spotlessly clean and looked stunning, with views that really took our breath away. After a long day of hiking up the hills, relaxing in the hot tub was just perfect - we definitely made good use of it! The welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch, very thoughtful. This was our first trip to the Lake District and we loved it so much that we’ve already booked to come back in April. The location is quite remote, around ten minutes’ drive from the main spots, but that’s exactly what we wanted-peace and quiet. Oh and at the bottom of the park, you can easily access the lake from a tiny slipway, which was adorable. Definitely bring your kayaks if you can, it’s worth it. The hosts were lovely too. We highly recommend Avon Wood!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s stunning! The location is just breathtaking, surrounded by such a peaceful setting. The facilities were spot on, everything we needed was there and the welcome pint of milk was a lovely touch-perfect for that first cuppa after a long drive. Christine was really helpful beforeh and, making sure we knew what to pack and what to leave behind, which was a big help. The spa was a real treat, especially after a day of walking; slipping into it was perfect. The only downside is that you definitely need a car since there are no footpaths nearby. We did manage a quick walk around the site, but it was pretty short. We’d definitely return and recommend to others!

Lovely lodge, well decorated and has everything you need. It's a quiet and peaceful location, perfect for unwinding, with an amazing view over the lake. Loved the welcome pack of Prosecco, chocolates along with the selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and milk for a needed drink I would highly recommend both the park and this lodge and we will definitely be going back in the future.

This is a lovely Lodge in a truly beautiful location. We enjoyed a very friendly welcome, and are only sorry that illness meant we had to leave early. Would recommend without hesitation.

One word Excellent

Having stayed before there is little more to add. It still remains a fantastic place to stay on a very well run site. As usual it was immaculate on arrival. So far we have never bettered it anywhere and we suspect this will remain the case.

We have just spent the most amazing week at Blakeholme lodge. We have been to Avon wood before and couldn’t wait to go back again, such a comfortable, beautiful and very very clean lodge! The owners are helpful and always around the park if you need them. The area around the lodge is lovely to walk around even if you don’t fancy venturing out any day, I really enjoyed taking my children down by the water just to relax :)

Excellent everything thought of never wanted for anything, a lovely welcome pack which was a nice surprise and set of the holiday. Good location close enough to get a taxi. Would highly recommend.

It was our eighth time at Rydal Retreat, already booked for two weeks next year, absolutely perfect, no need to say more.
